Is the Gulf Stream Broken? Gulf-stream

Commentary & Analysis

Its origins lie in the Gulf of Mexico and it carries the tropical waters from the Florida Strait to the great banks of the United States, where it heads eastward, carrying its warm waters to the borders of the North Atlantic. As soon as the tropical waters hit the Arctic Ocean, they cool abruptly and plunge towards the abyssal zone to form a loop, known as “thermohaline circulation.” Then, like an immense conveyor belt that slows down in the ocean depths, it sets out again southward to rejoin the beginning of the Gulf Stream.

50 percent of Lower 48 covered in snow, most this early in more than a decade

This week’s snow extent is the most we’ve seen (by a long shot) in the first half of November since 2003, when the National Snow Analysis archive begins. Only 2012 comes as close to this year’s 50.4 percent coverage — on Nov. 12, 2012, 31.5 percent of the lower 48 was covered in snow.

Harsh Cold to Freeze Northeast, Set Records in South

This arctic outbreak will not only be limited to the northern Plains, Midwest and Northeast but will reach into the Deep South.  Record lows will be challenged on multiple occasions through midweek from eastern Texas to the Carolinas with lows near freezing along much of the Gulf coast.

Has the Gulf stream stopped or slowed up so much that is now affecting our weather?  The short answer in my opinion is yes.  I first heard of this when the Gulf Oil spill was in full swing and the media was trying to tell us that all was well.  However an Italian scientist who wrote a paper on it had to say this about it:

No less than 5 million barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico during last year’s disaster. According to Professor Gianluigi Zangari of Italy, the oil spill and the spray of chemicals on it have put the Gulf Stream, which is closely linked to the Gulf, on the brink of a disaster. The physical properties of the stream have changed, and this might deal a severe blow to the entire ecosystem, says the scientist in his article published in the Moscow-based daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

There you have it and this information raises the question, is the gulf stream stalled or not working properly, or are the recent colder-than-normal winters just part of climate variance?  If the Gulf Stream really has slowed than this might explain the colder-than-normal winters we have been seeing.  I would close by saying this may be yet another sign of His coming.

Breaking News!

Four killed in attack on Jerusalem synagogue

  • Palestinians armed with cleavers and gun attack synagogue
  • Three victims were US-Israeli citizens, one a UK-Israeli citizen
  • Netanyahu vows to ‘respond with a heavy hand’
  • Hamas praises attack as response to ‘Israeli crimes’

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/nov/18/deadly-attack-in-jerusalem-synagogue

“Innocent people who had come to worship died in the sanctuary of a synagogue,” Kerry said, his voice quavering.

“They were hatcheted, hacked and murdered in that holy place in an act of pure terror and senseless brutality and murder. I call on Palestinians at every single level of leadership to condemn this in the most powerful terms. This violence has no place anywhere, particularly after the discussion that we just had the other day in Amman.”

The irrational hatred of the Jewish people is in full swing as is demonstrated by this latest offering from Jerusalem.  HAMAS actually praised the attack, so we can see that the terrorist group embraces the same ideology that the Nazi’s of WWII did, and that is the extermination of every Jew.  Israel is at an impasse, as I wrote about yesterday.  Hezbollah, HAMAS and now ISIL—not to mention the Iranians—all pose an existential threat to the Jewish state.  There is really only one solution to the problem other than every Israeli packing up their bags and heading to parts unknown and that is for the Israeli’s to cut the heads off the snakes.  They will be forced into this at some point in the near future.

34 this morning and 62 in afternoon.

I knew that the Gulf Stream would break after BP... and I knew it would affect the Atlantic.

First thing that came to mind was the movie Day After Tomorrow.

Now they say the temp swings in the N. Atlantic are dramatic in some areas and that this could become a reality and help cause the freezing of Europe.

Does one not think that this is part of the plans?

62 degrees is nice. i saw a photo from New York, where someone had to shovel a hole in the 5-foot high snow by their back door to let the dog out.

This freezing weather that started last year reminds me of Ragnarok in Norse mythology. They say there will be 3 freezing winters before the sun and moon go dark. (They also say there won't be any summers either - God forbid).
