A Message To America: 'Wake Up And Hear The Prophets!' - Our Nations Descent Into Madness Is Nearly Complete

- 'The Hour Has Come For You To Awaken From Your Slumber'

By MT Taylor - All News Pipeline

Wake up, America and hear the prophets! Is this the same country you grew up in? Is it the one you want to die in?

In other words, is America still the once-hallowed land of the free and home of the brave? Or does it fit evangelist Franklin Graham’s description of the country’s desperate plight, made as he launched his 2016 Campaign for God:

Graham declared, “America is on the verge of total moral and spiritual collapse--unless God intervenes”.

He voiced the concerns and fears of many families who look at the political, social and moral climate of today and realize that as a once Christ-centered nation, we have lost our bearings. American families are now raising their children in an R-rated culture.

The needle on the national compass points to a moral landslide going down, down, down. But people are too busy fiddling with their cell phones to heed prophetic voices that cite the fall of Rome and ask, are we there yet?

Historians suggest that we have only to look at the demise of the Roman Empire to see where America is headed and track the signposts to chart our final destination. In fact, some have suggested that Washington really is the Rome of our time.

They believe that the same causes that felled the Roman Empire are bringing our nation’s supremacy to an end: government corruption, political instability, and moral decay to the point of hedonism.

When did this trip down the Roman road become a moral downslide? Old-timers can tell you that the country wasn’t always this way. In fact, If we could re-create the plot of the movie Back to the Future and wake up in the America of a century ago, we would find ourselves in a totally different world ethically, morally, and spiritually.

Suppose the soldiers who fought in World War I suddenly were translated into today’s world: They would be shocked to find that the America they knew, once a bastion of Christian values like freedom, family, faith and democracy is drowning in a quagmire of personal and corporate greed, materialism, and anti-family values.

It’s a world where liberal extremists maintain that homosexuality and adolescent sex are normal; traditional marriage is giving way to same-sex unions; and modern entertainment is saturated with sex and violence. In movies, print and on the computer screen, civil communication has given way to threats and obscenities that corrupt our youth and incite the unstable to violent acts.

In his book Slouching Toward Gomorrah, the late Judge Robert Bork stated that former respect for law and order and the value of human life are disappearing. Bork, once nominated by Reagan to the Supreme Court, noted that many now want "the deviant to be normalized and the normal made deviant.” (Disturbing 1st video below provides proof!)

Evidence of cultural decline and moral degeneracy can be seen in the current state of American society, according to Bork. He named sexualization of mass media, the legalization of abortion, pressure to legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia, aggressive feminism and the decline of religion as contributing factors to a coming national downfall.. (Excellent 2nd video below from 'Trumpet Daily'!)

Billy Graham no doubt would agree. In an article in Decision Magazine in 1912, his topic was America’s changing culture and how we are at the point of confusing evil with good.
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20

“We can see our standards shifting from year to year according to the popular vote,” Graham wrote. “Divorce was once frowned upon by society, and laws against fornication and adultery were strictly enforced. Now divorce is accepted by society, and fornication is glorified in our literature and films.

“But God has not changed. His standards have not been lowered. God still calls immorality a sin, and the Bible says God is going to judge it.”

Considering all the areas of American life where decadence has crept in to destroy our values—social, moral and cultural—we can see a definite timeline developing over the last century. After the First World War, the Roaring 20’s served as an indicator that America was starting a definite slide downward.

Prohibition, the country’s crusade to ban the sale of liquor, backfired on its founders, sparking an underground culture of illegal bars, bootlegging and smuggling. The decade has been characterized as an era of gangsters and racketeers, profiting from rum-running and organized crime.

During that time, American women broke out of their domestic shell and took to the polls. As talkie movies came on the scene, they began to emulate the female stars by cutting their hair, wearing shorter skirts and going dancing in clubs.

More major cultural changes followed in the Thirties as television came on the scene and the first TV broadcast was made abroad, soon to cross over the Atlantic. By the Forties and Fifties, television sets were becoming standard furnishings for American living rooms, bringing Hollywood values and a thirst for constant entertainment into the home.

In 1953, Hugh Hefner published the first Playboy Magazine. With Marilyn Monroe on the cover, it became an instant success, selling more than 50,000 copies.

By the late Fifties, the nation had rock and roll music and a new generation of teenagers emerged with their own fashions, music and entertainment idols. And from there, the rest of the way has only been going down.

Over the years, the Supreme Court has not hesitated to endorse and ratify the country’s changing values, even as they make a downward spiral. By the 1960s, the Court was striking down school-sponsored prayer, ruling in 1962-63 that high school graduations must be secular and calling student-initiated prayer unconstitutional.

Soon court decisions were loosening restraints on pornography and obscenity. In a landmark case in 1973, the Court redefined obscenity to mean that which lacks “serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.”

In 1978, the historic Roe vs. Wade case legalized abortion, ruling that a woman has the right to an abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Move ahead to 1987 when the door was closed on efforts to teach the biblical creation story in public school science classes. The court ruled that teaching creationism in public schools is unconstitutional because it attempts to advance a particular religion.

By 2003 in the case Lawrence v. Texas, a six-to-three decision had struck down state laws that prohibited sodomy between consenting adults

Fast forward to the Court’s ruling in 2013 that the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, violating the rights of gays and lesbians, and in 2015 the Court ruled that same-sex couples have the fundamental right to marry, making same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.

As each new decision comes down from the nation’s highest court, Americans have become more and more desensitized to moral corruption, until like the proverbial frog in the cooking pan, the nation has become comfortable with its own poison.

And so we consider the world as it is today: Just as prophesied by Billy Graham, what was evil a century ago is being called good and what was good then is now considered evil.

“The wicked strut freely about when what is vile is honored among men.” Psalm 12:8.

As the tables keep turning, we watch in a stupor as America becomes more and more like Rome, amusing ourselves to death in the days just before the fall.

Is there still hope for America? As Graham’s son Franklin declared, God can still intervene and stop this nation’s descent into madness. His Word urges Christian believers to rouse themselves and wake up from a trance-like state that keeps them dormant.

“And do this understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber…. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.” Romans 13:11-13
