Intelligence Insider Warns Of Imminent War: “Likely In The Next 12 Weeks… The Director Of The CIA Told Me”

Having worked closely with U.S. intelligence agencies over the last two decades, James Rickards was once asked to simulate asymmetric economic attacks on the U.S. financial system. He is an expert at escalation scenarios and end games, and in a recent article at The Daily Reckoning he warns that the geopolitical situation on the Korean Peninsula will soon come to a head. According to Rickards, author of The Road To Ruin: The Global Elites Secret Plan For The Next Financial Crisis, while the world concerns itself with stock bubbles, bitcoin and debt, the most imminent threat we face is military confrontation with North Korea. And while the rogue state has been an ongoing threat for many years, the first half of 2018 will likely see the trigger that sets the whole powder keg off:

The most important financial or geopolitical issue in the world today is a coming war between the U.S. and North Korea, probably in the next twelve weeks. How can I be so sure about the timing? The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency told me. In a private conclave in Washington DC on October 20, 2017, CIA Director Mike Pompeo told a small think tank group (including me) that it would be imprudent to assume it would take North Korea more than ‘five months’ to have a reliable arsenal of nuclear-armed ICBM missiles. These could strike U.S. cities and kill millions of Americans. Five months from October 20, 2017 is March 20, 2018. That’s an outside date but the war will likely begin before then. That would create an element of surprise — and avoid the surprise of a faster than expected deployment of strategic weapons by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Interestingly, a very similar timeline was put forth by Chinese General Wang Gongguang, who indicated that hostilities could break out at anytime between now and March. As Rickards highlights in his report, the United States has coexisted with other nuclear powers like Russia and China without any serious incidents since the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 1960’s. But North Korea is different, because unlike these nuclear super powers, Kim Jong Un has repeatedly threatened the destruction of the United States and killing millions of people in the process. Some have suggested that Kim may be bluffing, but what if he isn’t? The Trump administration has made it crystal clear that they are prepared to call the bluff and a nuclear armed North Korea, especially one with ICMB’s capable of striking major U.S. cities, will not be allowed. Rickards continues:

We relied on deterrence, containment, sanctions, diplomacy, and eventually arms treaties to avoid a nuclear war. Why not do the same with Kim? President Trump’s National Security Advisor, General H. R. McMaster answered that question at our Washington conclave also. He said acceptance of a nuclear-armed North Korea is ‘unacceptable’. The U.S. will stop North Korea from acquiring its nuclear capability in the first place rather than learning to live it.
Earlier this year it was reported that Japanese citizens who sit in the direct cross-hairs of the North have been building bunkers in anticipation of a potential war. In the United States, cities like San Francisco and the State of Hawaii are actively reviewingtheir nuclear contingency plans in the event of an attack. As well, at the height of tensions in August, panic buying of nuclear preparedness supplies led to widespread shortages of anti-radiation pills, which have also been stockpiled in the millions by the U.S. government. The general public may not understand the seriousness of the threat, but it appears that someone out there does. China, Russia, the United States and North Korea are all mobilizing for a coming war. President Trump’s national security teams have set deadlines and determined military options, including a decapitation strike on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un should the order be given. As much of the world celebrates the Christmas Holiday, it’s business as usual on the geo-political front. And as we have repeatedly warned in recent years, numerous countries including military super powers Russia and China are actively mobilizing their armies for a widespread armed conflict. With North Korean leader Kim Jong Un vowing this weekend to never give up his nuclear ambitions and President Trump having made it clear that the United States will not allow the North to possess nuclear weapons capable of striking America, it appears that confrontation is inevitable. Further signaling what may come to pass in 2018 is General Robert Neller, who spoke to Marines in Europe during his annual Christmas tour:

Neller emphasized to the Marines that they should remain ready to fight at all times, predicting a “big-ass fight” on the horizon. “I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming,” Neller said. ” … You’re in a fight here, an informational fight, a political fight, by your presence.” Neller later told the Marines that he expects the Pacific and Russia to be the service’s operational points of focus as the nation looks beyond the fights in the Middle East that have stretched into the better part of two decades. [size] While it may be difficult for most to fathom the possibility of a massive confrontation on the order of the 20th century’s World Wars, the fact is that tens of thousands of troops and machinery have already been deployed around the North Korean conflict zone. North Korea may be the obvious trigger, but tensions in the Ukraine and elsewhere could rapidly catalyze a war of unprecedented proportions should cooler heads fail to prevail. Will 2018 see an event like the June 1914 assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, which subsequently led to declarations of war a month later and over a million dead by the end of that year? Time will tell, of course, but preparing for the worst case scenario may be prudent. There’s a reason why West coast cities, as well as the State of Hawaii, are warning residents to prepare nuclear contingencies in the event of war. The US government has announced significant cuts in its United Nations budget obligations for 2018-2019 in what will be interpreted as a further ratcheting up of pressure from the Trump administration looking to bend decision-making at the international body to its will. In a statement released over the holiday, the US Mission to the United Nations said next year’s budget would be slashed by over $285m and unspecified reductions would also be made to the UN’s management and support functions. The announcement didn’t make clear the entire amount of the budget or specify what effect the cut would have on the US contribution. “We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of,” US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said in a statement. Haley added that the “inefficiency and overspending” of the organization is well-known.

"WAR". If it happens, I don't think it will take place until after March when the Winter Olympics will be over in South Korea.

TEL AVIV — At least ten countries are in talks with Israel to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said on Monday.
The deputy minister’s comment, in an interview with Israel Radio, was made after Guatemala announced that it would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Hotovely did not name which ten countries she was speaking of, according to the Times of Israel. According to a report by Channel 10, one of the next countries is likely to be Honduras, a state with which Israel has close economic ties. Israel and Honduras have been cultivating a flourishing bilateral relationship over the past few years. Last year, the two countries signed an accord under which Israel agreed to enhance the Central American country’s armed forces in an unprecedented way in order to fight organized crime. The Honduran President, Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was reelected earlier this month in a hotly disputed election, is a graduate of MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, and he has spent time in the country. Along with Guatemala, Honduras was one of nine nations that voted “no” with the United States when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution denouncing Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem. Other countries reportedly in talks to move their embassies are South America’s Paraguay and the west African nation of Togo. The Czech Republic has also recognized West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Russia did the same in April.

Salacious allegations against president remain largely unverified
The FBI continues to cling to outlandish and salacious claims in the so-called “dossier” of opposition research funded by Democrats against Donald Trump during the 2016 election campaign, even though the bureau’s own officials admit the document’s allegations are largely unverified, says a new report. The dossier, some Congress members probing the matter believe, was presented as “evidence” by the Obama administration before a FISA court to obtain permission to spy on the Trump campaign. The Washington Times reports sources familiar with House and Senate investigations on the matter say that during a closed hearing of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence last week, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe declined to criticize the dossier’s 35 pages of charges against Trump and his aides while admitting the document remains largely unverified. During the hearing, the sources said, Republicans pressed McCabe about the dossier, which was financed by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign based, the Times said, “on gossip-tinged information from paid, unidentified Kremlin operatives.” Sen. Tom Coburn has come up with the answer to a Washington bureaucracy that doesn’t seem to care about the Constitution, or American people: An Article V convention, which he describes in “Smashing the DC Monopoly: Using Article V to Restore Freedom and Stop Runaway Government.” The sources speculated to the Times that it would be embarrassing for McCabe to condemn a paper his agents used as the basis for opening a counterintelligence investigation. Meanwhile, Michael Horowitz, the inspector general for the Department of Justice, is reviewing whether McCabe should have taken himself out of the Clinton email investigation. McCabe’s wife received more than $700,000 in campaign donations from two PACs, including one controlled by a Hillary Clinton ally. The report confirmed Horowitz has expanded his review to include whether or not the FBI investigation into claims of Trump campaign collusion with Russia is politically biased. Earlier this month it was revealed that a key FBI agent in the Mueller investigation, Peter Strzok, sent text messages to his FBI lover, Lisa Page, making fun of candidate Trump. He wrote to Page that they needed an “insurance policy” against the risk that Trump might win the election. The Times reported the dossier’s author, former British spy Christopher Steele, “bragged to Mother Jones magazine in October 2016 that he successfully urged the FBI to begin investigating the Trump team based on his memos.”
“Republicans have ridiculed the bureau for trusting a paid agent of the Clinton campaign,” the paper said. The chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., is reviewing who paid for the dossier, how its claims were spread and used by the FBI, and the Obama administration’s “unmasking” of Americans incidentally recorded in the surveillance. Fox News reported McCabe’s testimony to Congress conflicted in numerous ways with the testimony of previous witnesses. On Monday, a report from Tablet Magazine suggested it would be precedent-setting for a sitting president to use government channels and resources to make up allegations about a presidential candidate. “To date the investigation into the Fusion GPS-manufactured collusion scandal has focused largely on the firm itself, its allies in the press, as well as contacts in the Department of Justice and FBI,” Tablet said. “However, if a sitting president used the instruments of state, including the intelligence community, to disseminate and legitimize a piece of paid opposition research in order to first obtain warrants to spy on the other party’s campaign, and then to de-legitimize the results of an election once the other party’s candidate won, we’re looking at a scandal that dwarfs Watergate – a story not about a bad man in the White House, but about the subversion of key security institutions that are charged with protecting core elements of our democratic process while operating largely in the shadows.” Tablet reported that Mary Jacoby, the wife of GPS founder Glenn Simpson, boasted “on Facebook about how ‘Russiagate’ would not exist if it weren’t for her husband.” She claimed, as reported by Tablet: “It’s come to my attention that some people still don’t realize what Glenn’s role was in exposing Putin’s control of Donald Trump. Let’s be clear Glenn conducted the investigation. Glenn hired Chris Steel. Chris Steele worked for Glenn.” According to the president’s supporters, the Hillary Clinton campaign paid Fusion GPS to find dirt on Trump. The opposition-research firm then hired ex-British spy Steele to write up the salacious and unsubstantiated claims in a dossier. Someone then took the made-up allegations to a FISA court to obtain permission to spy on Trump. Fox News reported Attorney General Jeff Sessions wants a senior Justice Department lawyer to review the possibility of initiating a special counsel investigation of contacts with Fusion GPS during the summer and fall of 2016 by Nellie Ohr, the wife of senior DOJ official Bruce Ohr. Sessions said: “I’ve put a senior attorney, with the resources he may need, to review cases in our office and make a recommendation to me, if things aren’t being pursued that need to be pursued, if cases may need more resources to complete in a proper manner, and to recommend to me if the standards for a special counsel are met, and the recommended one should be established.” Sen.
