Staties, SS, FBI INVOLVED?

HAZELTON — West Virginia State Police have ordered Interstate 68, both east and west-bound lanes to be shut down, as part of an in-depth investigation "that could require some time."

State Police Captain Shallon Oglesby said that the shutdown came after a routine traffic stop for speeding along the eastbound lanes.

The trooper determined that the stop would require an "in-depth investigation" leading to the shutdown, Oglesby said.

State Police and Preston officials would not confirm reports that the incident involves explosives. Eyewitness accounts indicate federal law enforcement from the FBI has arrived to assist.

Scanner reports indicate Secret Service personnel from West Virginia as well as "apparatus" from Hagerstown, Maryland have been dispatched.

KINGWOOD, W.Va. - "Police activity" has Interstate 68 closed in both directions near the Maryland border, in Preston County, according to 911 officials.

The closure in the eastbound lanes is at mile marker 23, which is the Bruceton Mills exit, according to WV 511. The westbound lanes are closed at the state line, according to Maryland State Police.



"The West Virginia State Police are handling the incident. No details have been released on what the incident is, but it has nothing to do with the U.S. Penitentiary at Hazelton, according to Preston County 911 officials.

A 12 News reporter arrived on the scene and was turned back by law enforcement, without releasing further details."

Another says "I heard Solomon too, and I believe the first name was Hafiz. I heard Hotel Alpha Foxtrot India Zulu." I heard that phonetic as well for first name. Last name I heard sounded like "Solomon" but was spelled Salman. Very middle eastern/Arab sounding name.

Now hearing hwy reopened @2:15 edt. So...we'll see. No doubt 'suspect' was traveling eastbound.
That's how he'd get to 95N and NYC, oh..and DC is over there to the east too.
