It’s great to be back!  I kept a watchful eye on the events in the Middle East, which are still unfolding, but before I get to the post, there is an article linked to, In Other News Section, which tells us we shouldn’t obsess with End Times Prophecy.  However, Jesus admonishes us to watch and be ready!  He also points out what to watch for— there will be wars and rumors of wars—a “sign” which is happening as I type this.

As a Watchman, I watch and tell you what I see.  So with that in mind, lets dig in!
First off, the map on the left gives us a good overview, of the lay of the land and how the “players” relate to each other geographically.

Our focus will be on Syria, where over 100,000 people have died in a very bloody, and violent civil war which has been raging in the country for two years.

What we know:  Chemical weapons were used against the Syrian people and the death toll is between 300 & 1500.   This act brought about world-wide condemnation, as it should, as using chemical weapons ups the ante in an already bloody conflict.

However, the heart of the matter is this, did President Bashar al Assad give the order to use them?  Was he directly involved?   President—bring our boys home from Afghanistan and close “Gitmo”— Obama, (the recipient of the Noble Peace Prize) is calling for an air strike on Syria!  The US has moved the air craft carrier Nimitz into the region. Here’s my take on what may really be going on.  Saudi Arabia is terrified of the rise of the Shia Crescent, which is Iran, Syria and Lebanon.  (See map)

The Iranians would like nothing more than to “liberate” the Islamic Holy sites of Mecca and Medina, both which lie in Saudi Arabia.  So here’s a scenario.  We are in bed with the Saudis.  Obama, bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.  We cozy up to the Saudis and we buy a lot of oil from them!

WIth that in mind, I believe the Saudi’s may be behind the chemical weapon attack in Syria.  They have the means, to payoff some rogue group of Islamic fanatics to do the dirty work.  They have the motive, to stem the rise of the Shia crescent.
 
 They have the opportunity, as the conflict in Syria shows no signs of ending soon and the fog of war can cover the tracks of those who used the chemical weapons.

So this is win/win for the Saudis, as the US, enters the fray and does the dirty work of dismantling the Shia Crescent, and the Saudis retain control over the region, and set up a Sunni ruler in Syria!

The Russians have emphatically stated that chemical weapons were not deployed by Assad.

Hal Lindsey stated: However, I do not believe that it is undeniable that the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad committed the atrocity. He is certainly capable of it and the Syrians have the resources to do it. But for me, what’s lacking is the motive.

In closing todays post:  I believe this is a set up, like the Gulf of Tonkin incident which sparked the Viet Nam war,http://911review.com/precedent/century/tonkin.html or the WMD’s that Bush warned us were in the hands of Saddam Hussein.

If the Saudi’s are behind the atrocity, eventually it will come to light.  In the meantime, our Noble Peace Prize president, is looking to start yet another war.

  Jesus warned us to watch and be ready!  This is not obsessing over the end times, but being wide-awake and knowing the times in which we live.  Will the conflict in Syria lead to WWIII?  Will it fulfill the ancient prophecies of Isaiah 17, and Psalm 83?  Is this really business as usual?
