THE WISDOM OF PUTIN Putin on Minority Rights

on September 11, 2013

Nebuchadnezzar was the king who brought Israel into captivity and was called the servant of God. For the Hebrews had become wicked and evil and had rejected yahweh , has the west not gone down the same Path. America is now facing a world leader who although an ex-KGB man is is promoting christianity he is tough-strong-hard-smart-cunning-ruthless. At a time when the west wants to introduce gay marriage he is introducing Laws against homosexuality and thinks men who are effeminate are worthless. Is Putin the modern day version of Nebuchadnezzar. Many say that it is America who is babylon which fell to the mede’s and the Persians. So who does Putin represent and when the hour of destiny comes will america see the writing on the wall.  below is a speech given by Putin On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament),  about the tensions with minorities in Russia: Compare this to what the West has done to destroy itself and Putins wise words . If only we had such a  leader .

“In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live  in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need  minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians.”

Vladimir Putin’s Christian Faith – in his own words -contrast video-Obama Mocking God and the Bible Speech

Vladimir Putin’s Christian Faith if a man is measured by not only what he says but what he does Then Mr Putin must be judged as standing up for christ.

everything Putin stands for Obama can not stand. the two men are polls apart. Nothing though divides the two but religion. the coming war between the untied states and russia will be a religious war. between those who hate christianity and those who defend it. Putin is the defender Obama wants to wipe christianity put. although many see hm as a communist infiltrator. Putin says that communism does not work and through him although he is not perfect russia is enjoying a long period of economic growth and ascendancy which is the opposite to america which has had its longest period of falling economic standards in its history. If we even look at china which has reportedly 200 million christians. with the growth of christianity in that country although underground and persecuted so has its wealth grown. It seems god not only blesses people individually but nations. America has forgotten god so he has given the people the leaders they deserve. The most degenerate in that nations history, here is the leader Mocking god christianity and the bible.

US strike on Syria would up-end world order, Putin says

THE WISDOM OF PUTIN Putin on Minority Rights N_54311_4
WEB Notes: Pay attention to the comments of Putin marked in bold. He is exactly right, THIS WAR WILL destroy the current global order and usher in the New World Order government which will ultimately be led by Satan himself. This is the desired result of Satan's children (Matthew 13:35-43). Putin, Obama along with the other world leaders are merely puppets. It is no accident the global economy is on the rocks while all of this is going down. WWI ended with the founding of the League of Nations. WWII likewise ended with the founding of the United Nations. This next war is going to look like WWIII, but it will not go full blown, peace will be created, not true peace, but the false peace of Satan himself. He will set himself up in Jerusalem claiming to be Christ and establish his one world government claiming it is Heaven restored on earth. Have you read? Putin just told you what will happen.

(Daily News) - Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Sept.12 that unilateral US military action could unleash chaos as the former Cold War rivals discussed a plan to neutralize Syria's chemical weapons arsenal.

In a bid to appeal directly to US voters and policy-makers over the head of President Barack Obama, Kremlin leader Putin penned a commentary in the New York Times.

His article appeared at the same time as US Secretary of State John Kerry took off for Geneva, where he was to work with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on a plan to decommission Syria's chemical weapons.

Putin welcomed Washington's willingness to engage with the Moscow initiative, but he rebuked Obama for his previous threat to launch US military strikes to punish Bashar al-Assad's regime.

He warned that carrying out such a move without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, where Moscow wields a veto, would destroy the credibility of the world body.

"No-one wants the United Nations to suffer the fate of the League of Nations, which collapsed because it lacked real leverage," he said, referring to the United Nations' failed inter-war predecessor.

"A strike would increase violence and unleash a new wave of terrorism," Putin wrote, in a piece that emphasized that many of the rebels ranged against Assad have ties to Al-Qaeda.

"It could undermine multilateral efforts to resolve the Iranian nuclear problem and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and further destabilize the Middle East and North Africa," he continued.

"It could throw the entire system of international law and order out of balance," he said.

Russian plan for Syria
Russia is a traditional ally of Assad, and Moscow has blocked any attempt to sanction his regime through the United Nations during Syria's bloody two-and-a-half year civil war.

Last month, when hundreds of civilians were killed in a night of chemical weapons strikes in the suburbs of Damascus, the United States and France threatened to take action.

Despite a US intelligence report that tied the strike to Assad's regime and alleged that 1,400 people died, Obama struggled to win domestic support for unilateral action.

Then on Monday, Russia announced a plan for Syria to surrender its banned weapons to international control for destruction. Assad's regime quickly said it would comply.

Despite deep skepticism about both Russia and Syria's sincerity, Obama agreed to examine the plan. In an address to the American people on Tuesday he postponed, but did not withdraw, the threat of military action and ordered Kerry to meet Lavrov and work on the details.

"Judging by the statements of President Obama, the United States sees this as an alternative to military action," Putin wrote.

"I welcome the president's interest in continuing the dialogue with Russia on Syria. We must work together to keep this hope alive." However Putin demonstrated the gulf that exists between the United States and Russia by saying the strikes were probably carried out by Syrian rebels rather than Assad's forces.

Poison gas used in Syria
"No one doubts that poison gas was used in Syria," Putin wrote. "But there is every reason to believe it was not used by the Syrian Army but by opposition forces to provoke intervention by their powerful foreign patrons..." Putin also leveled broader criticism at Washington's foreign policy.

Drawing on a passage in Obama's Tuesday night address that said the United States' has an "exceptional" role to play, Putin said it was wrong for any power to presume a unique leadership role.

"It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation," he wrote.

"We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord's blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal." Earlier, envoys from the five veto-wielding permanent members of the Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States -- held inconclusive talks on Syria at the United Nations. Kerry, meanwhile, was en route for Geneva with a team of arms experts and senior officials to spend two to three days with Lavrov poring over Russia's proposal.

Kerry to meet Brahimi
The most vocal advocate for Obama's call for strikes to punish Assad, Kerry alleged this week that Damascus has 1,000 metric tonnes of deadly chemical agents, including sulfur, mustard, sarin and VX.

While in Geneva, Kerry will also seek to revitalize political moves to call a peace conference to end Syria's civil war, in which more than 110,000 people have died since March 2011.

He will meet UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi to discuss UN-backed efforts to bring the Assad regime to the table with the opposition rebels.

The Syrian opposition has reacted with dismay to the Russian plan, warning that negotiations over chemical weapons will only deepen the chaos and misery in their country.

With the risk of an attack having receded, Assad -- who celebrated his 48th birthday on Wednesday -- was free to pursue his battle with a dismayed rebel coalition.

The regime carried out an air strike on a field hospital in the province of Aleppo, killing at least 11 people, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Rebel Sunni hardliners killed at least 20 civilians in the central province of Homs, with fighters from the Qaeda-linked Al-Nusra Front and other groups attacking Alawite villages, the Observatory said.

Assad, a secular leader who has largely protected the rights of minorities, belongs to the heterodox Alawite sect, a Shiite Islam offshoot that Sunni hardliners consider un-Islamic.

Sunni Arab monarchies Qatar and Saudi Arabia have funded the rebels, while Shiite theocracyIran has staunchly backed Assad. - Daily News: US strike on Syria would up-end world order, Putin says

Putin Editorial Embarrasses US: Trump

Vladimir Putin’s New York Times editorial admonishing the U.S. to abide by the United Nations’ authority was “amazingly well-written” and shows the Russian president “wants to become the world leader, and he’s doing that,” celebrity business magnate Donald Trump said Thursday. “He’s really embarrassing the U.S. and he’s embarrassing the president,” Trump told CNBC’s ”Closing Bell.” (Read more: Donald Trump is hammering

Be careful about believing the recent spin on Vladimir Putin.

His grandfather was the cook for Lenin, and then Stalin.
His father was a naval officer who went on the become the head of the NKVD.
He himself worked for the KGB until appointed acting president in 1999 and has been in control of Russia ever since, whether officially or not.

He comes from a brutal lineage.  He is a brilliant, cunning, patient man who will do what he must for Russia and to stay in control of her.  If that is to look righteous compared to the West's debauchery, so be it.  If that is to nuke cities and kill people, so be it.

Putin to visit Iran for first time in six years. Historic trip will raise renewed interest in the “Gog & Magog” prophecies.

Russian President Vladimir Putin poses for photographers with his Iranian counterpart, Hasan Rouhani, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Friday, September 13, 2013 (photo credit: via YouTube/Times of Israel).

(Dallas, Texas) — “Vladimir Putin has accepted an Iranian invitation to visit the country and meet with newly elected President Hasan Rouhani, a spokesman for the Russian president confirmed,” reports the Times of Israel.

“Putin has been invited to Iran, and he will certainly take advantage of this kind invitation,” the Interfax news agencyquoted spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on Friday. “The dates of the visit will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.”

“The announcement came on the heels of a report that Russia had agreed to sell to Iran the advanced S-300 air defense system and construct a new nuclear reactor at the Bushehr site,” the Times noted. “Putin met with Rouhani on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Friday.

During the meeting, Rouhani extended an invitation to Putin, who accepted, the Iranian semi-official Fars news agency reported. In July, there were reports that Putin would travel to Iran in August to revive negotiations over the country’s controversial nuclear program, but those plans appeared to fall through.”

This will be the second time Putin has traveled to Iran. The first was a two day trip on October 16-17, 2007. I wrote about the historic nature of that trip at the time.

It was, after all, the first time a Russian leader had made a state visit to Tehran for the purpose of meeting with Iranian leaders in modern history. It thus raised many questions, including whether we were slowly but surely moving step-by-step towards the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39 in which Russia and Iran form an alliance against Israel in the “last days.” It so happened that I was speaking about such prophecies at an event for military officers at the Pentagon and in private meetings with Members of Congress just days after Putin’s visit. Below I include a reprint of the column I wrote at the time.
——————————
WHAT PUTIN’S HISTORIC VISIT TO IRAN MEANS
By Joel C. Rosenberg, October 19, 2007

Washington leaders are asking if unfolding events in the Mideast were foretold in the Bible.

We heard sobering, apocalyptic talk from President Bush yesterday. During a press briefing at the White House, the President was asked about Vladimir Putin’s visit with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran and the threat posed by this emerging Russian-Iranian nuclear  alliance. The President warned that World War III could break out if Iran gets nuclear weapons.

Here is an excerpt from the official transcript: “I believe that if Iran had a nuclear weapon, it  would be a dangerous threat to world peace. We’ve got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel. So I’ve told people that if  you’re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be  interested in preventing them from have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.”

As the President was speaking to reporters at the White House, I had the privilege of speaking to a group of military leaders at the Pentagon on what Putin’s historic and unprecedented trip to Iran means, and how Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s eschatology is driving Iranian foreign policy.

The event was off-the-record, meaning I’m not at liberty to share who was in the meeting or any of the specific details. But I can tell you that I gave a condensed version of the same information I’ve been speaking about publicly in recent weeks. I will be speaking on the same topic on Capitol Hill today with a  group of Congressmen who have invited me to discuss the latest events with Putin and Ahmadinejad and what they might mean.

Here’s an executive  summary:

* To misunderstand the nature and threat of evil is to risk being blindsided by it. A new evil is rising in the world. Ahmadinejad is the new Hitler. Putin is a new Czar. Yet the West seems to be asleep to the implications of this dangerous new alliance.

* Ahmadinejad is a devout Shia Muslim. He began telling colleagues when he was first elected in the  summer of 2005 that the end of the world was just two or three years away. He  said the way to hasten the coming of the Islamic Messiah known as the  “Mahdi” or the “Twelfth Imam” or the “Hidden Imam” is to annihilate two countries — Israel, which he says is the “little  Satan,” and the United States, which he says is the “Great  Satan.”

* In September 2005,  Ahmadinejad concluded his address to the U.N. by praying that Allah would hasten the coming of the Mahdi.

* Ahmadinejad returned to Iran after that speech and told Shia clerics that as he had spoken at the  U.N. he had been surrounded by a halo of light, and that for 27 or 28 minutes  not a single person in the General Assembly hall had even blinked, so mesmerized were they — he said — but what Allah was saying through him.

* In October 2005, Ahmadinejad gave his famous speech vowing to wipe Israel off the map. In the same speech, he urged the Muslim world to envision a world without the United  States, and said this is possible — a world without America and Zionism –  “when our holy hatred strikes like a wave.”

* In December 2005, Russia  signed a $1 billion arms deal with Iran, selling high-speed missiles to the Ahmadinejad regime, on top of billions of dollars worth of other arms,  submarines, and nuclear technology in recent years.

* In September 2006,  Ahmadinejad returned to the U.N. and again concluded his address by praying for Allah to hasten the coming of the Mahdi. Throughout 2006 and 2007, he has  continued to give regular speeches denouncing Israel and assuring Muslims that the Jewish State will soon “vanish.”

* In August 2007, Ahmadinejad began shifting gears. He was no longer saying that the end of the  world was two or three years away. Now he was saying the return of the Mahdi  was “imminent.”

* In September 2007,  Ahmadinejad again spoke at the U.N., as well as at Columbia University in New York City. This time, rather than ending his speeches with a prayer, he began  both speeches by asking Allah to hasten the coming of the Mahdi.
* For the past two years,  Ahmadinejad has been feverishly trying to build, buy or steal nuclear weapons. He has specifically been building alliances with three nuclear powers, Russia, China and North Korea, in pursuit of his genocidal objectives.

* Despite the apocalyptic rhetoric coming out of Tehran, the military, political and economic relationship between Russia and Iran has intensified dramatically over the past two years.  Putin doesn’t seem bothered by the talk of genocide. Putin and Ahmadinejad have met regularly. Putin’s visit this week to Iran was the first by a Russian leader since 1943.

* Putin didn’t meet only with Ahmadinejad in Iran. He also held a summit with the leaders of several Central Asian/Caspian Sea nations and issued a threat to the U.S. not to  intervene militarily to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

* No one is entirely certain why Putin is building an alliance with such radical Islamic regimes. Russia is certainly making billions of dollars from their arms and nuclear  deals. Putin clearly wants to rebuild the glory of Mother Russia. He is becoming a Czar, centralizing power to himself and now saying he will step down as president in 2008 but stay in power as prime minister.

* As an emerging Czar, Putin wants to expand Russia’s borders and influence. But he can’t go West, because NATO is moving East. Putin can’t go East because he borders a nuclear  China. He recently claimed sovereignty over the North Pole. But his real opportunity to build a global, anti-Western empire lies to the South.

So Putin is feverishly working to build alliances with Islamic and Arab powers, including Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, and several Central  Asian states, as well as Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world.

* Still, given Russia’s experience in Chechnya, it doesn’t really make sense that Russia would arm  radical Islamic nations, or help them go nuclear.

* The Bible offers an intriguing clue to what could be happening. In Ezekiel 38-39, the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel foretold a Russian-Iranian alliance that would form with a group of other North African, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian states in what the Bible calls “the last days.” For most of the past 2,500 years since the prophecy was written, this had never happened. But it seems to be happening now.

* No one knows exactly when these prophecies will be fulfilled in their entirely. I certainly do not. My  2005 political thriller, The Ezekiel Option, was a fictional look at how these prophecies might play out, if they were to play in my lifetime. Epicenter is a non-fiction look (both the book and the documentary film) at these prophecies and the current dynamics in Russia, Iran and the rest of the region. It considers the possibility that we might actually be closer to the fulfillment of these prophecies that anyone in the political, business or  media worlds has expected.

* One curious development worth noting: Ezekiel 36 and 37 have already come true in our lifetime. These are the famous prophecies that say that in the end times, Israel will be reborn as a nation, Jews will pour back into the Holy Land after centuries of exile, they will make the deserts bloom, they will rebuild the ancient ruins, and have an “exceedingly great army.” Since these dramatic events have already happened, it begs the question: Could Ezekiel 38-39 — what Bible scholars call the “War of Gog and Magog” — also come true in  our lifetime? This remains to be seen. But current events are raising lots of intriguing questions.

As I write in Epicenter, I am not trying to persuade people that these events are coming to pass soon. I’m trying to raise awareness of the threats we face as Americans, the threats our friends in Israel face, and the threats that everyone in the  “epicenter” faces — Jews, Muslims and Christians alike. I’m trying to make people aware of prophecies that intrigue me personally, and that may have relevance for our time. And I’m trying to motivate people to do more to care for the needs of the suffering and threatened people of the epicenter, specifically through the work of The Joshua Fund, the non-profit  group that Lynn and I launched last year.

While I cannot say whether people in the Pentagon or Congress or the White House share my views, I am both intrigued and grateful that they are interested and have invited me to  share my perspective.

At this moment in history, let us pray faithfully and earnestly for our political and military leaders, as well for the leaders in Israel, Russia, Iran and the epicenter. As the Apostle Paul wrote in I Timothy 2:1-4: “First of all, then, I urge that  entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all  men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to  the knowledge of the truth.”

I'm with you Rose! Putin is a KGB thug and always will be. What makes me angry is that our pres is so lame and feckless that he makes Putin look good and forgetful Americans are holding him up as some sort of moral authority because they agree with his gay stance. I agree wit it of course but I haven't forgotten who Putin is, has been and always be, a communist with visions of world domination. That girl rock band is still in a Russian prison somewhere, serving time for political dissent.

"Call him Napoleon if you want but his sudden popularity on the world scene is reminiscent of our own Obama......The Antichrist one day will rise also....... "

His sudden popularity is attributable to the fact that the world is sick of dick tater and his den of lying scumbags and 'yes' people he surrounds himself with. Many are enjoying watching him look like a fool and be pushed around like the musloid man lover he is by Putin and Assad. Vlad will return to his old ways and make winter heat unaffordable for most Europeans and everyone will hate him again. Fickle the non-Christian people are.

Putin IS Russian through and through & obviously loyal to his country of birth which is commendable.
He'll meet his Waterloo when he invades the US. 20 million armed and angry American veterans will make for a helluva welcoming reception.

I guess DHS may hypothetically 'help them out' but, best I can tell, 2700 MRAPS is one every 1,310 US square miles.

The Russian president has his fans here—who see him as the very epitome of macho manliness.

Two years ago, Gayne C. Young, a Texas-based writer and blogger for Outdoor Life, scored the interview of a lifetime. As a beat writer, Young had enjoyed the outdoor exploits of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been documented shooting a gray whale with a crossbow, tranquilizing a tiger attacking a news crew, hunting shirtless, fishing shirtless, and riding horseback shirtless. On a personal level, Young liked the rugged brand of masculinity that seemed a throwback to Teddy Roosevelt. "Although you have Clinton shooting ducks, you never see it. Although Rick Perry says he enjoys hunting, you don't see it. They say they do, but they don't. Obama says he shoots skeet, but they only released one picture," Young says. "Here's a guy out there fishing, with no qualms. He's like, 'You don't like it? Tough.' Then he'd escalate and do more."

His posts on Putin brought in great traffic, so his editor kept encouraging him to escalate. Soon, Young was declaring his "man crush" on the Russian president. ("I hate to use that word, especially on a hunting website," he admits.) He called the Russian consulate, flirted with the right secretary, and went through "hoop after hoop after hoop" until, one Friday, a press attaché called and told him the president wanted his questions in the next 20 minutes.

Young scrambled and sent something over. Six weeks later, Putin replied with an almost unbelievable 8,000-word missive—covering everything from tiger conservation to his favorite works of Hemingway to the innate frailty of human life. He lectured on the similarities between Russians and Americans, and demurred from answering Young's friendliest questions. ("Are you the coolest man in politics?") "People really liked him, at least on our comments section on Outdoor Life," Young says. "Given the demographics of the readership, most are die-hard Republicans," and when they saw Putin hunting, he says, "they were like, 'Obama wouldn't do that.' "

Putinphilia is not, of course, the predominant position of the conservative movement. But in certain corners of the Internet, adoration for the leader of America's No. 1 frenemy is unexceptional. They are not his countrymen, Russian expats, or any of the other regional allies you might expect to find allied with the Russian leader. Some, like Young and his readers, are earnest outdoorsy types who like Putin's Rough Rider sensibility. Others more cheekily admire Putin's cult of masculinity and claim relative indifference to the political stances—the anti-Americanism, the support for leaders like Bashar al-Assad, the oppression of minorities, gays, journalists, dissidents, independent-minded oligarchs—that drive most Americans mad. A few even arrive at their Putin admiration through a strange brew of antipathy to everything they think President Obama stands for, a reflexive distrust of what the government and media tells them, and political beliefs that go unrepresented by either of the main American political parties.

They utterly perplex many observers of the Russian-American relationship. "No clue as to what drives it, other than some form of illness," says Russian-born novelist Gary Shteyngart, author ofAbsurdistan.

There are many faux Putin fans in America—those who mock the hero worship ironically or half-ironically. But plenty of his fans are serious. Three months ago, Americans for Putin, a Facebook group, sprang up "for Americans who admire many of the policies and the leadership style of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin" and think he "sounds better than the Republicrat establishment." The group has an eight-point policy platform calling for "a unified [American] national culture," a "firm stance against Israeli imperialism," and an opposition to the political correctness it says dominates Washington. Though that group is relatively small (167 likes as of Wednesday afternoon, ticking up every few hours), the Obama's-so-bad-Putin-almost-looks-good sentiment can be found on plenty of conservative message boards. Earlier this year, when Putin supposedly caught—and kissed—a 46-pound pike fish, posters on Free Republic, a major grassroots message board for the Right, were overwhelmingly pro-Putin:

"I wonder what photoup [sic] of his vacation will the Usurper show us? Maybe clipping his fingernails I suppose or maybe hanging some curtains. Yep manly. I can't believe I'm siding with Putin," one wrote. "I have President envy," another said. "Better than our metrosexual president," said a third. One riffed that a Putin-Sarah Palin ticket would lead to a more moral United States.

The cult of Putin in America probably has its strongest hold on the readers of ostensibly apolitical humor sites that target young men, such as Cracked and theChive. Cracked's post on why Putin is "The World's Craziest Badass" drew more than 1 million views. TheChive's slide show naming Putin "The Real Life Most Interesting Man in the World" inspired several hundred comments—only a few from Putin-haters distressed to see that he had such a following.

Putin is hardly the first—or the worst—antihero to enjoy the devotion of a small segment of Americans. Nor is he the first to benefit from a deep, reflexive distrust of public institutions like the government or media. The most recent and disconcerting example is the hero worship of Boston Marathon suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who has a cult following online. Many doubt law enforcement's assertion of his guilt; others create Tumblr pages worshipping him like the latest teenage pop star.

As for Young, recent years have tested the man-crush. He still thinks the guy he interviewed would make a great fishing partner, but he dislikes the "saber rattling" he sees between Putin and Obama. "A lot of people in the outdoors world will say to me, 'Hey look what your boy Putin is doing now. I always respond: 'It's Vlad, and I'm not sure that's the real one,' " Young says.  "It's really hard for me right now, with what all is going on, to say which Putin he really is. I would like to say he's the one who answered my questions."

A group of social activists has deemed Russia’s President Vladimir Putin worthy of the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.

“The International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of Nations had a good reason for proposing the candidature of our leader for the highest peacekeeping award,” Academy’s chief Georgy Trapeznikov said today at a media press conference in Moscow.

“We are all well aware of the peacekeeping role our President [Vladimir Putin] has played in affected regions, such as Beslan and South Ossetia,” he added.

Academy’s vice-president Beslan Kobakhiya, in his turn, underscored the significance of Putin’s initiative to settle the Syrian conflict.

“Vladimir Putin has bent every effort to curb the crisis in Syria. His actions speak louder than words about being committed to promoting peace,” he stated.

Meanwhile, a Russian lawmaker and popular Soviet singer Iosif Kobzon lauded Mr. Putin as a better candidate than the current Peace Prize holder Barack Obama.

“Barack Obama, the man who endorsed and launched US attacks against Iraq and Afghanistan, is now preparing to invade Syria, while our president is trying to stop bloodshed and negotiate the conflict through political dialogue and thus is more worthy of this honour,“ Mr. Kobzon said.

Putin's Nobel peace prize nomination: 'too early for jubilation'

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s possible nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize for averting US strikes against Syria will be discussed today in Moscow, media report. The meeting is set at midday (8:00 GMT).

The conference follows a move by Russia’s Education Foundation chief, Sergei Komkov, who sent a letter proposing Putin's candidacy to the Nobel Committee for one of the most prestigious international prizes granted for major contribution to global peace.

"Vladimir Putin has proved his adherence to the cause of peace," said Sergei Komkov, President of the All-Russia Foundation for Education, in his letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. "As the head of one of the leading countries of the world, he has made every effort to maintain peace and tranquility in his own state and has actively contributed to peaceful settlement of any conflicts arising on the planet."

The letter is not a formal nomination as Mr. Komkov does not qualify to nominate candidates for the prize, an official of the Foundation explained. It is merely a request.

Meanwhile, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that the president was no prize junkie.

"Mr. Putin does not actually seek any awards, prizes, etc. What he is really after is satisfaction from seeing the fruits of his work," the Kremlin mouthpiece told Russia’s Izvestia paper.

Peskov stressed that if the proposal was made in connection to the Russia-brokered plan to settle the Syrian crisis it was far too early for jubilation.

"We must first wait and see a tangible result of this settlement effort," he said.

The idea appears to be fast catching on, winning a surprising amount of support from the US conservative Fox News, a primarily anti-Russian outlet.

"The world knows that Vladimir Putin is the one who really deserves that Nobel Peace Prize," said Kathleen Troia McFarland, a Fox News national security analyst who had served in national security posts in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations. She lauded Mr. Putin’s "give peace a chance" proposal to avert US strikes against Syria.

"Russian President Putin Deserves the Nobel Peace Prize," agreed author Michael Collins Piper of the American Free Press weekly.
The Russian proposal to safeguard Syria’s chemical weapons "validates the great power status of Russia — and might even win Vladimir Putin a Nobel Peace Prize," opined the Chicago Tribune.

A petition posted on the White House "We the People" website urged US President Barack Obama to hand over his Nobel Peace Prize to Mr. Putin.

The Russia-based International Academy for Spiritual Unity has proposed President Putin’s candidature for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“A letter to this effect was sent to the Nobel Committee on September 16 and received on September 20,” Academy’s president Georgy Trapeznikov told reporters.

“We are all well aware of the peacekeeping role our President [Vladimir Putin] has played in affected regions, such as Beslan and South Ossetia,” he said.

Meanwhile, a Russian MP and popular Soviet singer Iosif Kobzon, one of the Nobel move supporters who signed under the letter, pointed out that US President Barack Obama is currently considered to be the chief peace maker and holder of the latest Nobel Prize, despite planning a strike on Syria.

“Our President is trying to stop the bloodshed and solve conflicts and therefore deserves this title like no one else,” the lawmaker opined.

Will Putin receive Nobel Peace Prize?

Will President Putin who is strongly opposed to the military invasion of Syria and who is playing the key role in discussing the ways out of the Syrian crisis receive the Nobel Peace Prize?

Putin to prevent US invasion…

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is known as a politician who takes an active participation in the discussion of issues involving international diplomacy issues and who often disapproves of various initiatives put forward by the world political community. However, should Russia’s proposal on Syria be accepted, this will be regarded as a great diplomatic success of the Russian President.

According to the BBC correspondent in Moscow Steven Rosenberg, on the one hand, Putin is acquiring the image of the leader who is hampering the US military action in the Middle East, and on the other hand, the image of a person who is doing his utmost to eliminate the threat posed by the chemical weapons of the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. Such policy is being assessed as Moscow’s tangible achievement.

… and will help Obama improve the situation

The issue of the Nobel Peace Prize was raised at a press conference that was held by Obama some time ago, where he said that he was determined to interfere in the Syrian crisis. Asked whether receiving the Nobel Peace Prize - the main prize in the field of peacekeeping - is in harmony with his plans for a military invasion of Syria, US President Barack Obama said that he had done much to turn diplomacy into the main instrument for settling crisis situations. When something goes wrong in the world, everybody wants to know what America will do. It is of great importance for everybody – be that Libya, Rwanda or Syria, Obama added.

Russian media reports say that this success, in the opinion of the US President, means that the situation in the problem region is being improved. The point is that the majority of Americans is against military action against Syria.

Putin is one step ahead in Syria issue

There is an impression that Russia is always one step ahead of the US in Syria issue. While US President Barack Obama, who often makes sharp and unexpected statements, is slow in taking concrete steps, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, who from the very beginning was strongly opposed to Syria military strike, continues to consistently implement his strategy, achieving successful results on his way.

The Kremlin holding its ground

The Kremlin’s stand remains unchanged. What’s more, Russia is sure that what it wanted to make clear is clear now, that is, Russia’s firm stance on Syria issue has reduced the number of those who spoke in support of a military action against Syria.

However, although Russia’s initiative was favoured by the Syrian government, an effective plan of action has not yet been worked out.

Plan non-existent, order of actions unclear

Russia has not yet announced how the disarmament of Syria, which is currently in the grip of a full-blown civil war, will be carried out, what will be done to reveal the Syrian chemical weapons arsenals, where they are stored, and what the disarmament process provides for, which is the main thing here.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry later today to discuss the above-mentioned issues. The threat of a military operation against Syria remains a stumbling stone in the Russia-US contacts.

Vladimir Putin does not stop to stress that an indispensable condition for the successful implementation of Moscow’s initiative is the USA and its allies giving up the idea of carrying out a military operation against the Damascus government.

War will go on

Should a consensus be reached and the parties concerned decide to resort to diplomacy, the war in Syria will go on.

The Russian “Vedomosti” newspaper says that the previously mentioned plan involves the use of chemical weapons and Obama making a decision involving a military operation. However, the realization of this plan – should it be carried out – will not be able to bring the war in Syria to a halt, and clashes will continue there.

How did Obama get the Nobel Peace Prize?

Will the Russian President be able to settle the crisis in Syria? And should he succeed in doing this, will he receive the Nobel Peace Prize? All these questions remain unanswered. As is known, the first Afro-American President of the US was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his appeals for the reduction of nuclear weapons stocks in the world, for his efforts aimed at the achievement of peace in the Middle East, and for strengthening cooperation with the Muslim world.

At that time the world’s attention was focused on Obama. Obama gave people hope for a better future. His diplomatic efforts are based on the understanding of the fact that the world leaders must rule, remaining committed to the same values as the majority of the world population, came in a statement of the Nobel Committee.

Barack Obama donated the money - 1.4 million dollars – which he received together with the prize to charity funds, stressing the significance of this prize as a stimulus for the further peacekeeping activities.
