Why are we still here? 6000 years and it is 2013.

I keep trying to figure out why we are still here. 2000 years from creation to Abraham, then 2000 to Yeshua so shouldn't it be 2000 years until he returns? Could Yeshua's life span be the space we are seeing? Say if the time between His birth and death were not counted as part of the 6000 years, for some reason that I can't fathom, and were tacked onto the end? My fingers are thinking out loud here as I search for some reason we are still here and about to see the year 2014. It makes no sense to me that we are still here if God is faithful, true and never lies (He IS faithful, true and never lies!) then there has to be a perfectly good explanation but I've never heard it. Any ideas? I so long for His return and for Him to set all things right!

I often wonder the same thing. I don't even remember where I got the 6000 year idea....

if a generation is 70 yrs. if the last generation started in may '48, if the rapture occurs on rosh hashana, on 1 of 2 days, then it would stand to reason we have till rosh hashana, 2017, 4 all these things 2 happen, bottom line is, His will, His timing, ask Him for patience & understanding, lean on Him, He will direct your path, there are good things coming, beyond what we can fathom...well worth the wait

Some of the Bible verses that show us this 7 days of creation being equal to 7000 years from Adam to end of Millennial reign are:

Genesis 1:3-31 - God re-created the earth in six days and then created the seventh-day Sabbath by resting on it (Gen. 2:2-3).


The apostle Peter wrote, “With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (II Pet. 3:8, NKJV).



No doubt, he understood that the seven-day week pictured the 7,000-year plan of God. Paul also had this in mind when he instructed that the seventh day of the week pictures the millennial rule of Christ that will follow this present evil age of human misrule (Heb. 4:3-11). This “day” will occur after Christ’s intervention and it will last a thousand years (Rev. 20:1-4). References to this principle are also found in Psalms 90:4 and Hosea 6:2.

 Good point! The generation between the beginning of "it" happening and the end is noteworthy. I know we are close and like I have said before Yeshua cautions us to watch and read the signs like we can read weather signs so I think it won't be as easy as I once thought it would be. But, you are right, it will be well worth the wait!

Good video, rawblues. I agree that 2016 will be an important time as it is seems to be marked with a lot of significant numbers (that I don't really understand but still they are there). From the fall of 2015 through the fall of 2017 is period of time that I personally am watching.

It is David Flynn's video.  Yes, 2015-2017 could very well be interesting years to keep an eye on.  Maybe these could be the years in which a lot of speculations will eventually give way to our long sought after questions and answers.

The years 2012 & 2016 keep coming up in many ways, I think these 3.5 yrs must be a period of great significance, as we saw the appearance of the last Pope and 'm sure very soon the rise of the NWO under the rule of the AC.  Are we now in the first half of the last 7 yrs?  Or is 2016 the beginning of the last 7 yrs?  We will know very soon.

I have a theory about that. Mind you, this is my own theory and know that I didn't hear it someplace else. Use discernment though as I'm a broken vessel.

I've come to believe in the "possibility" that Adam and Eve could have been in the garden and INNOCENT for 20 years. Now, flash forward to the exodus, the rebellion, and recall that God said that all would die ABOVE THE AGE OF 20 YEARS and their children would go on to possess the promised land.

Why 20 years??? Why would God determine 21 years and older weren't innocent? Well, if Adam and Eve were innocent 20 years and then fell at age 21 that might have set the president. Let's look at that.

Best we have of the timeline of creation is from Bishop Ussler and he says creation was in the Autumn (Sept. - Oct.) of 4004BC. So counting 20 years forward to the fall would place us at 3984BC. 3984BC plus 6000 years takes us to the year 2016AD. Adding one year to make the fall happen at 21 years would result in the year 2017AD.

Sump'tn to think about. Like I said, this one is all mine; I could be wrong so DISCERN.

Yeah, Judah ben-Samuel up to now has a pretty good track record.  Plus, he wasn't a kabbalistic Jew, which gives him more credence in my book.  One thing that has always stuck out in my mind about him is the fact that he died in 1217..... exactly 800 years before the targeted 2017 date.   800 is the germatria for Omega as found in Revelation 1:8 and Revelation 22:13.

The 800 may not apply here, but it is kinda interesting.

Wow! You've given me lots to consider. One of the things that originally drew me to this forum back around 2008 was the creative (but grounded in scripture) minds here that could think outside the box. So necessary in these last days because these are days of great deception!

Glad others have thought about the a period not counted in the timeline of history. The fall of Adam and Eve might very well be it. I think another possibility, as I mentioned before, is Yeshua's life span but I have no way of verifying.

For whatever reason we are still here and as much as I long to finish up this part of existence and get on with the Millennial program, it is well and good and there is more we have to do. His return is soon and the more evidence of it I see the more excited I get. When I keep my eyes on His return and that new world it keeps me from trembling at what lies just ahead of us. We are truly blessed to be seeing what folks throughout history have longed to see! Let's make the most out of it and grab as many as we can out of the fire. As the proofs of where we are get more evident, I know this question of 6000 years is going to come up and you've given me some talking points I can engage.
