Exploring The Mysterious "Mountain Of The Creator" In Bolivia
Tunupa is a dormant volcano in the Potosí Department of Bolivia. It stands on the northern side of the Salar de Uyuni at an elevation of 5,321 m above sea level. Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in earth, and is the remains of a huge ancient lake. Tunupa is the local word for the creator God, and here on this mountain, in caves, we see the skeletal remains of beings with very large, elongated heads!
