- The United States is a very good place to be dead; better than almost anywhere, legally speaking. Ray Madoff, a professor at Boston College Law School who specializes in trusts and estates, lays out evidence for that in her book called Immortality and the Law: The Rising Power of the American Dead.

The biggest thieves are likely the state. Whether by cryonics, uploading consciousness, or reincarnation... no doubt laws will be made and trusts invested in stocks and banks to preserve and control riches -- which inevitably must fly away. That said -- I'd like to see estates placed in trust for the unborn. If the dead can have their day in court, most surely so can the living! | |
