Indeed interesting. I notice that the base of the mushroom stem exactly fills the crater 'wall to wall' but doesn't flow out over the rim. This could be volcanic in nature. A big ash cloud maybe? Anyone here know if Mars is volcanically active at all? I don't know myself having never researched it.
