| i glanced out the window a minute ago and saw something flashing, thinking it must be an airplane, but it didn't move. So i went outside to look and found that it's Betelgeuse - flashing red. That's the (our) left shoulder of Orion. i've never seen it do that before. i hope you'll check it out and let us know what you think. Binoculars help if you have them. |

Fwiw it's supposedly already gone supernova, we just haven't 'seen' it yet, unless you're privileged enough to view the D/S probe feeds. So you're likely on to something. Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, BETELGEUSE!!!! said the hollyweird occultists... | |

That's interesting. Have you heard any talk about this? When i saw it flashing it was just above tree level. You could see red blinks with the naked eye. After it rose higher in the sky, it looked normal. Maybe viewing it through the atmosphere at an angle made the color more noticeable. |
