Secretary of State John Kerry Drafting UN Resolution Recognizing "State of Palestine" Post by Newsroom - Dec 26, 2016
Secretary of State John Kerry has been working on the text of the Resolution at the UN, formally recognizing the "State of Palestine" and it will use the 1967 Israel Border to establish Palestine's physical boundaries. SuperStation95 has learned from our UN sources here in New York that the Resolution will contain an authorization for the use of force to compel Israeli compliance, and will be introduced (and voted on) before Barack Obama leaves office.
The Arab-Israeli conflict has gone on for decades and sources in the UN say the Security Council is "fed-up" with the stalemate. Sources confirm there is a consensus among Security Council members that only an outside force can bring the situation to an end. The inclusion of a use-of-force element to the resolution is described as "a necessary evil given the parties involved."
