Started streaming 21 minutes ago A suspected IED explosion inside a car of the St. Petersburg Metro system has resulted in casualties among passengers, according to the transit system’s management. An evacuation is underway and some stations have been closed for entry. Preliminary reports indicate that some 10 people may have been killed and 20 injured in the blast, news agencies said citing sources close to the investigation.

Published on Apr 4, 2017 Two Police officers assassinated in what appears to be an apparent terrorist attack in southern Russia. In the province of Astrakhan two police officers were murdered while working a traffic stop.

St. Petersburg subway blast: Suicide bomber identified as Akbardzhon Dzhalilov, 22
The man believed to have unleashed a suicide bomb attack on a subway train in St. Petersburg, Russia, killing more than a dozen people, was identified Tuesday as a 22-year-old Russian citizen born in Kyrgyzstan.
Akbardzhon Dzhalilov was named as the killer by Russia's Investigative Committee. Detectives said they also found his DNA on a bag holding a second bomb in a nearby subway station -- which crews defused before it could explode.
Before naming him, Russian investigators linked the suspected attacker to radical Islamic terror groups. They said he himself carried the deadly bomb on the train in a backpack.
