We had crowns at the forum that went offline, that was kind of cool, we don't have crowns here.

Since i've had multiple profiles.....i'm really not big on it. I just think people who are new should respect the people who have been on for a long time. That's just me, but status on a forum really is meaningless since the moderators are king anyways. In fact, been there and done that enough to know that misunderstandings happen a lot. Particularly because everything is typed out. I've been around since 2008/2009. Would anybody know it? Probably not, and i don't care if they do. We've been through what...like 3 or 4 forums now? As long as we stay together...i'm happy.

I'm not real big on it either. Besides, as onlyoneimage said, it might lead to misunderstandings. For anyone who has ever read George Orwell's "Animal Farm" you'll understand what I mean.

And, I'll just be content to wait on my crown(s) when my Master and Savior is handing them out. Provided that I even rate one that is.

Agreed. One body, all of equal standing and value, all equally necessary to the whole.
Except for the poor mods, who have to labor day and night.
Unless someone has been a forum mod, they have NO idea how it is, what's required.

Same as the others. It is fine but there is a risk of it being misunderstood. And may also lead to "lower ranks" not speaking when they want to.

Im not sure if it is possoble here, but privileges would be a good alternative. For example, peeps with x number of posts or length of stay can close their own threads. Things like that.

Ok, Laibcoms, you amaze me how you always have all the little icons and stuff for your links. I didn't even know you could do that!

Yes, I've been adding emoticons for this reason. I just downloaded a thousand to my comp and hopefully they work.

Ok, so I agree with the "not putting rankings thing"...but I have a small error to confess. I was looking a Laibcoms post and accidentally hit the (-) thingy at the side. I didn't know it would put a negative on his comment. Not intended, not intentional and definitely not right. Hope there is no offense taken Laibcoms, I am a big fan.

Well I guess since this is "true confessions" I hit the edit button instead of the quote button on one of Delfi's posts today and already had my reply all done and sent before I caught the mistake. I had to go and remove my comment from her post. I was like

My poor eyes (60 years old and getting worse) are having trouble with this dark background with dark text . . . . I've searched for a way to re-skin my view colors but it can't be done. I guess I'll just have to be extra careful as this wasn't the first time I made that error.

I will try to brighten it up! What parts would be helpful? That's why I sent the css link We can do all things with that.

Not sure what a css link is???? You mentioned it in a PM but there wasn't any link to follow. Anyway, just a general brightening would help. Chocolate text on brown background is murder to try and see.

No, the background . . . that's what needs to be lighter, the background. In the pplace where we read and write posts and replies. That area.

In the box where we post replies, it is so dark it is hard to read what I'm typing. Please help!

I will lighten it up but if you click the A button it will make the black writing go away.

Once it's posted, it looks great! While I'm trying to type the post, though, it's difficult to read the text. Although I just changed it to red, and I can see that pretty well.

OK, I tried clicking on the Switch Editor Mode button (the A button), and that helps a lot!

Does it turn it back to white? because I'm having a deja vu moment here.....

Yes, the "A" button seems to be the culprit in these situations.
Did you put a blurb on it on the 'help' post?

I'd say it's a just little too bright. Too much of a contrast against the dark.

But I'll live with 'majority rules'.

Speaking of formatting issues: every time I post or reply with more than one line of text, the final version has the spaces deleted between lines, pushing the text together into one paragraph. Anybody else have this problem?

Let me test. I'm just going to type a bunch of random things here and see what happens. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

And now to test paragraph #2 just to see. Will it push the paragraphs together? Will there still be a line separating the two paragraphs? Now I will hit "Send"...

I agree with the ranking thing, that we don't need it as laibcoms brought up, it may make new peeps be more silent, don't think we want that.

That - might not be good as it can be misunderstood as an attack?

As for the colorful, I understand what dove is saying but I think we'd run out of colors, and isn't that what a different avatar all about?
I need a new Smokey one , lost the first, so need to take a new one after he has a bath... that fine hair is so unmanageable when not freshly washed.
