PostSubject: Check Your Sky   Check Your Sky I_icon_minitimeTue Jun 27, 2017 8:17 pm

Last winter i went out at night to see the stars and could not find the Big Dipper. Really. i found it another evening but it seemed out of place. i had to really search for it and that is not usual.

Last night i went out again to look for the Big Dipper. It should be due north of my home - at least that's where i always remember seeing it before. It is now in the northwest and i have noticed that the sun is shining in my north windows from the northeast in the morning.

scratch Has anyone else noticed anything that seems out of place?

Lovista, I just went outside and looked. The big dipper was to the northwest here in central Mississippi at about 9:30 pm cst.. I also noticed a heavenly object next to the moon at it's 2 o'clock position. At the same time I was noticing all of this a plane, , ( I guess)  which had a bundle of red horizontal lights on it,   was moving slowly and broke sharply to the right with a loud noise and continued on  quietly.   I was trying to notice all of this but also had a couple of 4 month old puppies and a  17 year old cat making every step with me. In other words, they were about tripping me so I had a hard time focusing my eyes.  judy

I have noticed for a few years already that where the sun used to shine on my wall at a certain place, when we first came here, I've lived here 25 years, the sun does not shine as far on said wall as it used to...House has not moved so either the earth changed it's course or something else has happened...I actually marked the wall..(for some unknown reason) one summer to see just how far the sun would reach on the longest day of the year...it only ever got there the once.

PostSubject: Moon has been wacky since I first reported many years ago   Check Your Sky I_icon_minitimeThu Jun 29, 2017 8:08 am

On Fathers Day the Moon was out and the shadow was on the bottom exactly horrizontal !!!

Previous my compass in one day moved from being the norm of 23.5 to 52!!! back again in just hours.

I posted years ago (2010?) about the moon being off at times, sometimes you could sense or have a feeling the season being off by few weeks in August/Sept.

I don't really pay close attention too much anymore cause I know everything is wacked out... should have taken a picture of the Moon ... but did point out to my son-inlaw and he commented, hmm can't tell if it is wanning or waxing and laughed.
