take a break from all of the bad stuff going on around you

i was born in 1954 and that was at the front end of the tv age and the back end of radio as the preferred avenue of entertainment.....i remember a few shows still on radio in my early years, but most were before my time.....for the last week, i have been listening to those old shows and having a blast.....except for football or basketball games and bad weather situations, i have not watched tv in over 5 years, concentrating on bible research, listening to lectures,preachers,etc, so this has been a lot of fun.....these programs for the most part, have been digitally remastered and the audio quality is very good, a requirement since i have lost all but about 30% of my hearing.....i listened to a 1929 amos and andy show....think about it, thats almost 90 years ago....right now, i am in the middle of a playlist of the old CBS "suspense" series that has spanned 3 days.....i doubt many on here are old enough to have heard these and most are too young to appreciate them, but this is some quality experience that can be pulled out of the annals of history, and there is not one cuss word and nobody got pregnant.....there is no cases of robert being attracted to stanley, just good, clean, sound entertainment and the shows are quite good...give them a try....

My husband often watch old shows, they put them on our t.v.as re-runs  old westerns my husband likes....All good ole westerns and none of those cowboys ever cuss...I have given up on t.v., almost....I have some good dvd's and watch them, If I need a break from knitting/crocheting!

I just uploaded these Mp3's to my MediaFire account for y'all. These are 78rpm records from the 1950's and boy how things have sure changed in 70+ years. These are done in a Godly Christian manner and not a single dirty word in 'em. The subject matter of these is to teach growing and curious boys and girls about sex, birth, etc. The titles are self explanatory. I think y'all will really enjoy listening to these as well as sharing them with friends. If anyone here has a YouTube channel feel free to upload these. These are small files running approx. 7 - 10 minutes each.

Thanks for the link. You're just a little older than me. i remember when the days were more innocent too. It'll be good to have on hand when i want a break from the chaos.

Pretty safe to say that any TV programming done in the 50's was innnocent and safe for the whole family. TV today, particularly the sitcoms, are a cesspool of sex talk and moral depravity.
It's so sad to see how far (and fast) we've fallen as a society.
