By becoming the story instead making the President's message and agenda the story, Scaramucci showed he was way in over his head. His tirade to the newspaper reporter, without making sure it was off record, was an exclamation point to that fact. It looks bad on the President's behalf, that he picked someone so woefully inept and that person got fired so quickly.
However, it looks good on General Kelly's behalf if he was the one that fired him. Shows his decisiveness, and that he has the full back of the POTUS (at least for now). Hopefully Kelly will bring some stability to the administration, and will be able to help find people to fill in where needed.
