dove, thats just another reason that i have been so troubled about this....i don't mean just recently, for over two decades.....I do not agree with replacement theology at all because they got it wrong....Israel was "the old testament church" and i fully believe that they are/have been encompassed in the new testament church consisting of both abrahamic descendants and called out gentiles(and in this group, the 10 "lost tribes"....When Christ said " it is finished" the need for Israel was also finished....remember paul said that there was no difference in jew and the greek(gentile)....it is something that i have spent many,many hours own...A Jew (judah,benjamin) will have a special place and God ain't done with them, but have the Khazarians trodden down Jerusalem since 1948?...This is sideways thinking, but when dealing with prophesy being fulfilled, usually it is possible to have more than one type/method of fulfilling that prophesy....a prophesy inside a prophesy, so to speak....really bugs me, because i don't settle for compromise, its either right or its wrong, and not knowing for sure just eats on me because the answer is somewhere.

I think 'original sin' cuts deeper than that. I believe that we are born into corruption, and into corruptible flesh which is ALWAYS subject to sin, period. 

The Law cannot be kept PERFECTLY, and no man is made perfect by the Law.

We are only led to a true understanding of God's Law by the INDWELLING SPIRIT, and no amount of morality or adherence to the True Law under our own efforts is possible.  And we STILL sin.  But our Advocate stands in our place, and has already paid the price for our sins.

I would say that by it's Nature it would accomplish that separation from the 'world system', but I don't think it's primary purpose was to establish a nation.

What was the primary goal of the Supreme Commander?  To establish a nation, or to reunite Himself with his Creation.

I'd say it's primary purpose was to raise up a God centered, Fellowshipping people, who THEN would be a standard of Kings and Priests for all Nations.

And I feel that distinction is a lot bigger than just the 'splitting hairs' that it may sound like on the surface.  But, I'd be doing tons of writing to back that up. (aaaand, we don't want that. lol)

I understand God did not mean the Law to be a means of salvation.  Yet, the purification therein was essential to the priestly role in the wilderness and thereafter for Communion with God.
So, that seems to take precedence over how to establish a government.  And explains why it was made into a 'religion'.

And at the end, we're still back to 'adherence to the Law', and is that even possible, then or now.

And I'll give you that Grace was the wrong word, though that's what I've always heard:  a 'fall from Grace".  What word does the Bible use for what happened between God and man in the Garden?

remember, the world government was created in genesis chapter 11, babylon, the combining of government and pagan religion, with a man as head of both, nimrod.   This was what God was battling against and thats why he pulled abram out of sumer and set him up as "father of many nations" so he could execute a counterattack against the plan of Satan.   A plan to usurp authority, not necessarily FROM God, but to be equal with God.   The Law worked like our legal system,in that if you broke it, you pay a fine,or make a sacrifice....it did not erase it from your record, but it kept you out of jail....here is an example of what i am trying to say that might make it clearer, and then ima' going to bed:

take the dietary Laws of the OT.  What the pharisees(rabbis of today) did was make eating part of the religion of the LAW, or legal system.   "Kosher" food is acceptable food blessed by a priest.    Notice all of the foods mentioned, clean and unclean....Think todays concern with food....HEALTH !!!! the unclean foods are high in chloresterol......you cook a steak by roasting with fire, aka grilling, and you cut the fat off....i forget where it is that God said (OT) that you can eat it, but that He would "require the blood of thee" if you did.....He didn't mean that He would strike you dead, He meant that it would cause plaque to build up on the walls of your arteries.

The Law was much more than the 10 commandments.    Summing it up, if you keep the LAW as God intended, you would have a healthy, happy, disease-free, and orderly way of life, BUT if you try to keep it to please God, as in a legalistic manner of self-elevation, you failed as soon as you took another breath.    The original constitution of america was based on the Law given to the Israelites and it worked fine until the amendments started, just like they injected babylon into the OT Law.....

I can see that.  Yet men were guaranteed to fail in the execution of it, right?  Which brings us around the mountain and back to the point where even if God gives the perfect law for the establishment of any nation, men are guaranteed to wreck it (being of a corruptible spirit). 
And so we wait for THE DAY when He returns.
