| This was a docu-drama, from Snowden's perspective. The centerpoint was a week in June of 2013 when he was first in Hong Kong, and the story looked backward and somewhat forward from that time. According to the movie, he was still in Russia when the movie ended it's timeline 3 years after his first time in Hong Kong.
During that week he met with 3 journalists who took his story and gave it to the Guardian newspaper in Britain, who did print it. Quickly after that, the depths of America's global spy network went global.
It may have dropped a few 'systems' names that we can check. It certainly exposed the vast and sinister invasion of privacy and misuse of "unwarranted' and warrant less (no FISA) personal information that all the agencies collect on Americans and global citizens.
How he may have aided and abetted 'the enemy', whoever that might truly be, was not touched upon.
I'll aim to add more detail tomorrow. He obviously is today facing great trouble..the lynch mobs are all stoked up. That doesn't feel so right at the moment.
The movie presented the essential question and answer: when it comes down to freedom or security, Americans (all people I assume) choose security. They should have added: to a point, because there IS a point, an unacceptable shift in that balance.
As we know, 'the cure' we're being offered is far from infallible. And in my opinion still too far over the line. And "glorious" is surely an overstatement to those willing to look, Big Brother. Perhaps this is the good reason why we're all having such a hard time finding a position regarding Snowden. I want to know the thoughts of God. Everything else is just details. - Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone (JFK, Born on the Fourth of July) tackles the most important true story of the 21st century. Snowden, the politically-charged thriller reveals the incredible untold personal story of Edward Snowden, the controversial figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the National Security Agency and became one of the most wanted men in the world. A hero to some and a traitor to others, the provocative story of what led him to that fateful decision makes for one of the most compelling stories in recent history.

Perhaps this is the good reason why we're all having such a hard time finding a position regarding Snowden. in my way of thinking, i see the spy network like this: we have the Father, the Son (the Word) and the Spirit(Holy Ghost) in our belief system and we can have an individual relationship with the Father due to the actions of the Son and the Spirit.....our adversary also has his own godhead and it is of my humble opinion that the global spy technology is the antithesis of the Holy Spirit....since the Spirit is omnipresent, so is the web that allows a central data collection system to see, hear and acquire all communication of the masses......we know the Devil and anitchrist are the other two parts of the pagan godhead....folks tend to give the devil too much credit for his abilities, but he is not even close to being on a level with the true and living God of all things, so he would need some type of mechanism to keep track of what is going on "no man could buy or sell, etc" | |

| Makes sense, Mike. It gives satan an (always inferior) avenue of omnipresence.
In the movie, Snowden said he had no intentions of going to Russia. He wanted to go to South America, but they pulled his passport. It said a member of wikileaks smuggled him out of HK into Russia.
If he was driven by righteous indignation over the gross spying of Americans by the NSA !!! as appears to be the case, well.....so am I !
This is an article from 2013, right after he ran and leaked.

One question is did he provide firewalls (for lack of better understanding) for foreign entities against the spying, and did that cause loss of American lives? Obviously it hindered NSA-CIA activities. According to the movie, when the story leaked, the O indicated spying would be curtailed, yet it was in fact doubled down on.
Per the movie, one of his co-workers nicknamed him Snow White. I want to know the thoughts of God. Everything else is just details. A Miracle is when God makes His Reality our Experience

| So Snowden was hired by CIA, then later did contract work for NSA (Hawaii).

In 2013, documents leaked by the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden revealed the existence of numerous surveillance programs jointly operated by the Five Eyes. The following list includes several notable examples reported in the media:
