At Tuesday night's State of the Union, Senator Todd Young (R-IN) handed President Donald Trump a bracelet belonging to a fallen Marine from Dubois County.
Sen. Young said the mother of Marine Alec Terwiske, Sandy, gave him the bracelet.
Sen. Young said Terwiske's mother wanted him to thank President Trump for showing up to Dover Air Force to welcome fallen soldiers back into the United States.
Sandy saw Sen. Young give the president Alec's bracelet and it meant the world to her.
Alec graduated Northeast Dubois High School in 2010.
He died in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
