The California progressive socialists have finally gone totalitarian on the aspect of gun control. As of yesterday, in order to buy ammunition in this state requires a background check. I have yet to hear anyone explain how this would stop mass shootings or even affect anyone but the lawful gun owner. The claims that the United States has the most mass shootings of any country are based on faulty research by University of Alabama associate professor Adam Lankford and splashed all over the media. Claiming that his research is compiled on 171 countries, (it’s not). He refuses to show his research to anyone else, even other pro-gun advocates. His research has since been debunked by John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center. Lotts study uses actual numbers to show that the United States is 62nd with a number lower than Norway and Switzerland.
But it may get worse, much worse on a national level. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts in the progressive socialist party are attempting to pass H.R. 8 which looks to make law-abiding criminals by attempting to register all guns and make private transfers, even among family members a criminal offense. Republican Doug Collins (R-GA-09) introduced an amendment which sought alternative measures to the ineffective "Universal" background check but was rebuffed and the amendment dismissed with no discussion of the efficacy of what was offered. Another change by James Sensenbrenner (R-WI-5) which would have permitted valid permit holders to be exempted from the check was dismissed as well.
My next door neighbor is a gun enthusiast as am I. If I buy a new firearm and show it to him, I am still within the law. If I hand it to him for him to look at, I would be a criminal facing one year in jail. Does anyone who understands how the Deep State works not concerned with your next door neighbor turning you in to ATF?

Or how about the ATF requiring from licensed firearm dealers every legally purchased firearms details contained within the 4473 that the FFL gun dealers have for his records. A Firearms Transaction Record, or Form 4473, is a form promulgated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in the United States Department of Justice that is filled out when a person purchases a firearm from a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder (such as a gun shop). The ATF has, during annual inspections of gun dealers required by federal law have been copying these 4473’s to a central, federal, easily accessible database. Just recently, the progressive socialists on the House Judiciary Committee voted against notifying ICE when an illegal attempted to buy a firearm, a clear violation of federal law. This makes it quite clear that the progressive socialist don't want illegal guns, just yours. It is apparent that in H.R. 8, the progressive socialist are more interested in confiscating law abiding citizens firearms than those of illegal aliens who attempt to buy one illegally. In essence, Illegal aliens are shielded from these unconstitutional laws that the citizens of this country will be forced to follow.
The records of the Federal Firearms Licensee have been routinely copied by the ATF despite being prohibited by 18 USC 923 which prohibits anyone in the federal government from seizing any records unless the records directly constitute material or documentation as evidence of a violation of the law. The ATF has ordered FFL's to submit 4473's all the way back to 2007. These forms, by law, must be turned over if they are a matter of investigation in the investigation of a crime, and not for wholesale registration in a federal database.
Gun Owners are right to be concerned. In the past, New York State required the registration of long guns. In 1991, the state banned such weapons and attempted to confiscate these guns from the lawful owners. It led to the raiding of law-abiding citizens who had been lied to. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, the superintendent of the New Orleans Police declared that “No one was allowed to be armed. We are going to take all the guns.” All the law enforcement agencies began to confiscate guns, leaving none for self-defense.
Even the Justice Department attempted to register all guns through a grant given to the City of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University in 1994. This was eventually rejected by federal courts as invasive and unconstitutional. In 1996 the Justice Department tried once again to register firearms by allowing law enforcement officials to disclose the names and information on all gun buyers. This was done by a software program called FIST and kept information such as gun model, caliber, date of purchase, and much more including the buyers' name and address. The FBI in 1998, announced that it would keep the information of all guns buyers using the same intrusive information listed above for six months. The six-month limit was dropped down from 18 months after a challenge from "Gun Owners of America" to the legality of such an action.
Law abiding citizens in this country have a right to own a firearm for any reason. They do not owe anyone an explanation of why they need one or what type they have. The progressive socialists do not understand guns and so fearful of them they want to confiscate all of them. Perhaps it is the loud noise they make or that in many circumstances they can cause bodily harm that makes them fearful. The fear they face is not ample reason for the confiscation of someones rightfully bought and paid for property.
Colorado has passed a law requiring any gun owner to go to a police station for investigation of both themselves and their guns. The owners have already passed all requirements promulgated by federal law. They should not have to pay for a right to keep what they already own and be in yet another database that is not secure.
The government has spent a great deal of time and effort to teach the idea that if the government comes for your guns that it is constitutional. It is not. We are a constitutional republic where the individual citizens can demand the right afforded to him by our founding documents. The American people have the right to fight back against tyranny and the corruption of the government. Food for thought for today's citizens will never be shown on television news of media so here are a few to ponder.

This country, as explained in these passages and many others, show quite clearly that our country was formulated with the right to bear arms. It is the 2nd Amendment that stops all our other freedoms to be dismissed, to make the Constitution itself null and void.
If and when this country and the elected officials who are our representatives in government ever decide to ban the 2nd Amendment, the American citizen has the obligation and responsibility to fight back. The political representatives who are trying to take away the right of the sovereign citizens of a constitutional republic are forcing their agenda on the public that is unconstitutional and borders on treason.
