Just for clarity on Edward Snowden and Russia. Ecuador had already granted him asylum. Snowden's passport was revoked by the US-of-A while he was in mid-flight from Hong Kong to Ecuador. His flight wasn't non-stop direct and he had a stop-over in Russia, Passport check failed at Russia check point, Snowden was trapped in the airport in Russia some 45 days in "no mans land" limbo because he couldn't fly. We, the good old US-of-A, threatened our so-called "friendly" allies and who knows what other countries with (god knows what threats) if they allowed any flight out of Russia with Snowden on board over their airspace. Direct threats!
