This is pretty amazing.  The chief Justice alone is responsible for the FISC.

Through the House Impeachment Inquiry, he became a fact witness by the testimony of Fiona Hill.

If the Senate conducts a trial, he would have to preside.  But he cannot as he is a fact witness.

An 'acting' Chief Justice could not sit over the trial.

If it goes this far, he'll have to step down.  And the dems will have lost another seat
on the Supreme Court.
