Unemployment Falls to 13.3% and Economy Adds 2.5 Million Jobs

The Washington Post was blasted on social media after it jumped the gun with an inaccurate tweet Friday claiming the May U.S. unemployment rate was close to 20 percent, moments after the actual report indicated the rate unexpectedly had dropped to 13.3 percent.

“Grim milestone to be reached as May unemployment rate nears 20 percent,” the Post wrote in a now-deleted tweet to accompany a now-edited story with the same inaccurate headline.

May’s 13.3 is significantly down from a record high in April, indicating the nation’s economy is recovering faster than expected from the coronavirus lockdown – but it appears that Jeff Bezos’ Post had assumed the worst.

]The Labor Department said in its report that employers added 2.5 million jobs in May — the biggest increase on record. The post’s second try to promote the story featured a tweet that said “U.S. jobless rate unexpectedly declined to 13.3 percent in May amid pandemic” but the visible preview of the story still said “Grim milestone to be reached as May unemployment rate nears 20 percent.”

The Palm Beach judge who has thus far refused to release grand jury records in the Jeffrey Epstein case has both professional and family ties to three of the politicians who have a stake in keeping those records secret, the Miami Herald has learned.
Krista Marx, the Palm Beach chief judge who also heads a panel that polices judicial conduct, has potential conflicts of interest involving three prominent players embroiled in the Epstein sex-trafficking saga: State Attorney Dave Aronberg, who has been sued by the Palm Beach Post to release the grand jury records; Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, whose department’s favored treatment of Epstein while he was in the Palm Beach County jail is part of an ongoing state criminal investigation; and ex-State Attorney Barry Krischer, part of the same investigation in connection with his decision not to prosecute Epstein on child-sex charges.
Special prosecutors appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis went to court in January to unseal records of Krischer’s secret 2006 state grand jury presentment in the case.

Because of the rampant manipulation of everything reported from all sources,
we are forced to acknowledge and deal with the "Perceived Reality" of a situation,

Yes, we are being manipulated (public perception), and we know why.  That doesn't
absolve us from seeking reasonable solutions and doing what we can to advance them.

Judicial Watch announced today that it has formally asked District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Attorney General Karl Racine for permission to paint “Because No One is Above the Law!” on a Capitol Hill street 



The Judicial Watch message would be the identical size and coloring of the DC Government’s “Black Lives Matter” political message on 16th Street NW.

Mayor Bowser later allowed “Defund the Police” to be painted alongside it.


 “This rule of law message is timely, as it a reminder that rule of law applies to – and protects – all Americans. If we are unlawfully denied access and face viewpoint discrimination, we are prepared to go to court to vindicate our First Amendment rights.”

I thought I was going to have a woo-woo story for you. Standing in the kitchen a 1/2 hr ago, I heard the 'trumpet' sky sounds.  I looked up and the cumulus clouds were big, beautiful, very low hanging and
moving from north to SW.  Not a normal direction.

But on stepping outside I could hear the low, turning and grumbling of probably asphalt being ripped up.
Maybe it's general science that higher pitched sounds travel further.  I'll try to check that out.
But, just a normal day in the neighborhood, afterall.   Good!
