"The American press has remained in denial for 40 years--since my case--that the Espionage Act has wording that could be aimed directly at them. Now they're staring down the barrel of that Act, which could be used against American journalists and publishers for doing journalism."

Craig Murray, former British Ambassador takes 2 mins. to describe some of what the prosecution wants and what it's desperately trying to avoid: ie. testimony from El-Masri, who was 'mistakenly kidnapped and tortured by the Americans'.

This shows that there was a political deal. The Trump administration was willing to use the indictment as a political bargaining tool.

Likewise, I was not directed by Trump or anyone else connected with him to meet with Julian Assange," he said in a statement. Mr Rohrabacher said he was acting on his own "fact-finding mission". He said he told the Wikileaks founder that if he could provide evidence of who passed on the DNC emails, he would then call on the president to pardon him. The White House called the allegation "a complete fabrication and a total lie".

is a discussion of implications to El-Masri testimony; why JA might have been adamant that El-Masri not be censored in any manner. It looks to be that JA is committed to El-Masri having his day in court against the U.S., who has done NOTHING to acknowledge their (wrong) actions, much less be held accountable. -------------------------------------------------------------

E responded to questions regarding the possibility Rohrabacher offered JA a pardon, and if so, why was it not accepted.
E. @ETheFriend The possible pardon was offered years ago (not now), and was rejected because it wasn't really a pardon. It was a political bargaining chip that Assange wisely declined. It stipulated that for a pardon Assange had to reveal sources behind the DNC leaks.
There is currently no offer for a pardon from the Trump admin on the table in regards to Julian Assange. All mentions of a pardon relate to Dana Rohrabacher and an event that happened several years ago now during the height of the Mueller investigation.
For those asking "why didn't Assange take the deal". Because 1: WL does not reveal their sources, and 2: Strings attached isn't a pardon, is it? It's quid pro quo. It would have been devastating to WL integrity to do so. They would have won the battle but lost the war.
People who think russia hacked the DNC are the same people who think Putin put bounties on our soldier's heads. Those @CIA crafted narratives only work on people too lazy to do the slightest bit of research. - Both of those lies have one common purpose: to keep us in endless war.

Of course it's sickening and heart wrenching, but can you spot the journalists in this photo? If the conclusion is not that all armed warfare is demonic and must be rejected always then nothing has been gained, and the trial itself is moot-except for the potential life of yet one more victim, Julian.

UN Torture Expert: “collective persecution” of Julian Assange must end now
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, Nils Melzer, has published a scathing condemnation of the “deliberate and concerted abuse inflicted for years” on Julian Assange, calling on the UK government not to extradite him to the United States, where Melzer fears Assange “would be exposed to a real risk of serious violations of his human rights.”

“The evidence is overwhelming and clear,” the expert said. “Mr. Assange has been deliberately exposed, for a period of several years, to progressively severe forms of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, the cumulative effects of which can only be described as psychological torture.”
My most urgent concern is that, in the United States, Mr. Assange would be exposed to a real risk of serious violations of his human rights, including his freedom of expression, his right to a fair trial and the prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
I am particularly alarmed at the recent announcement by the US Department of Justice of 17 new charges against Mr. Assange under the Espionage Act, which currently carry up to 175 years in prison. IMHO: WHEN we have won on 11/3, the banshees are going to go ballistic. As much as humanly possible, we must not be distracted, and instead rise up and come full voiced, head on in the pursuit of Justice delayed, Justice denied. Send up prayers that the victimized and downtrodden are strengthened with hope and will continue to persevere.

Washington, DC—This week, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) introduced H.R.8452, the Protect Brave Whistleblowers Act, a bill intended to reform the Espionage Act to better protect whistleblowers. This week, she also introduced a resolution defending the actions of Edward Snowden, a whistleblower who exposed illegal and unconstitutional surveillance programs run by the U.S. government, and calling for charges against him to be dropped.
This legislation is supported by Daniel Ellsberg, best known for his crucial work in 1971 to expose the U.S. government conduct in the Vietnam War by releasing a top-secret Pentagon study known as the Pentagon Papers. In 1973, he was charged under the Espionage Act along with other charges of theft and conspiracy.
