| Middle East Update!Posted by lamarzulli on October 9, 2013Commentary & AnalysisbyL. A. Marzulli Minister: Hezbollah has over 200,000 rocketshttp://www.timesofisrael.com/minister-hezbollah-has-over-200000-rockets/Hezbollah has over 200,000 missiles capable of hitting any spot in the country, Home Front Defense Minister Gilad Erdan said Tuesday.“According to an IDF worst-case scenario, Israel could find itself under attack from thousands of rockets that could last three weeks,” he said at a conference at Bar-Ilan University, according to Israel Radio. “The Hezbollah organization has over 200,000 missiles capable of hitting any house in Israel.”While most of us are focused on the petty drama continuing to unfold in Washington, with such absurdities as the Gestapo tactics brought to us by the jack-booted thugs who are running our National Parks,http://www.newburyportnews.com/local/x1442580373/Gestapo-tactics-meet-senior-citizens-at-Yellowstonethe coming-all-out-war in Middle East continues to ramp up. Here’s the latest. Hezbollah has over 200,000 missiles! I remember a few years back Bill Salus and I discussed this on his show. Bill thought the number was around 50,000 and I proposed 100,000, it turns out we both were wrong.A map is always a good way to see how this build up of missiles, hovering on the border of Israel, looks like! A map has a way of illustrating what it takes a few hundred words or perhaps more to communicate. It becomes apparent that if the INTEL is correct and Hezbollah does indeed have upwards of 200,000 missiles in their arsenal, it poses a grave threat to Israel.Even though Israel has the Iron Dome defense in place, the sheer number of missiles Hezbollah could launch would more than likely overwhelm the country. A missile attack, which according to the article could last three full weeks, would more than likely lead to a great loss of life and create a situation in which Israel would have to respond in the most harshest of ways, in order to assure its survival. If just one other nation joined the fray—I’m thinking Iran as the most likely candidate—I believe it would certainly lead to the Israeli’s using their nuclear arsenal. Here’s the rub though. Even if Israel uses its nukes, it’s not going to slow down the missiles coming from Hezbollah. How do you stop 200,000 rockets?http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/09/08/israel-deploys-iron-dome-missile-defense-outside-jerusalem/Added to this is the continuing unrest in Syria, which has not gone away! The world was focused on Syria only a few weeks ago and the events there almost led to WWIII! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-24114746The US government shutdown-charade, is a great distraction and most Americans are disgusted by it! So many of us forget that nothing has really changed in the Middle East.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/06/savannah-guthrie-rand-paul-meet-the-press_n_4054169.htmlThe Arab Spring and the unrest it has wrought all across the Middle East continues to destabilize the region. The unmitigated hatred of Israel, by its Arab neighbors, has not been assuaged in the least. Iran continues its march toward becoming a nuclear power. The Moslem Brotherhood, while suffering a “take-down” in Egypt, continues to focus on its goal of marching to Jerusalem to create a Caliphate, with the city as its capital.http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Egypt-Islamist-vows-global-caliphate-in-JerusalemIn closing todays post. Israel is hated by its neighbors. At some point there will be a regional war and it will engulf the entire Middle East. If nukes are used it will be the first time since WWII, and as I have pointed out before, a nuclear event could trigger the greatest level of fear the world has ever experienced collectively and that could be a supernatural trigger. In short, in spite of all the diplomatic efforts and the cry of a two state solution, nothing has changed in the Middle East, except Hezbollah now has 200,000 missiles in their arsenal. I wonder how long before their fingers get itchy…. |
