somewhat been.
The linked page has an abstract and link to full hypothesis that some comets cause a resonance that produces stream structures in meteorites that can last from 1000 to as much as 10,000 years!
They use Halley's comet and the Orionid meteor showers as a model.
If Ison did in fact generate a resonance that could cause a lasting meteorite stream structure, 'comet of the century' might be a fitting name after all.
And is that bad considering earth seems to be involved in the fall-out path?
