| http://www.solarham.net/ glancing blow from CME...due the 4th , that's today Updated 02/04/2014 @ 11:50 UTC [color:9c0d=7CFC00]Solar Update Good morning. Attached is an updated look at the visible solar disk on Tuesday. Solar activity during the past 24 hours was moderate. Sunspot 1967 produced four M-Class flares, a couple of which were impulsive. They include an M3.8 at 01:23 UTC, M1.2 at 03:06 UTC, M5.2 at 04:00 UTC and M1.4 this morning at 09:49 UTC. When viewing the latest LASCO C2 imagery, there does not appear to be any Earth directed coronal mass ejections (CME). Sunspot 1967 retains a complex Beta-Gamma-Delta configuration and may produce additional moderate to strong solar flares during the next 24 hours. The active region will remain in a good geoeffective position for another couple of days. To the north, sunspot 1968 did show some minor growth within the trailing section during the past several hours and will remain a threat for an isolated M-Class event. All other visible regions remain stable. A CME did become visible off the southwest limb last night and was the result of a prominence eruption. It does not look to be geoeffective.
