“The Armaggedon-like scenario now envisaged by Israel’s military will involve thousands of casualties if the missile bombardment is sustained for several weeks, as planners believe it will.”

In the next war with all its neighbors, one should expect the existence of Israel to be threatened. The “Armaggedon-like scenario” could very well include the use of chemical weapons from both Syria and Hezbollah. However, I suspect the use of chemical weapons on Israeli cities will result in a nuclear response. Also, if Israel uses nuclear weapons then it must do so on all its neighbors – Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas and the West Bank Palestinians. The elimination of its neighboring enemies will preclude future Iranian attempts to smuggle nuclear weapons to any remaining allies. There won’t be any remaining allies near Israel.

These disclosures of the scale of the missile threat are clearly intended to prepare Israel’s 7 million people for a war in which the entire civilian population will for the first time be on the front line.

People living in the Galilee region in northern Israel got a taste of this new kind of warfare in the summer of 2006, when Hezbollah unleashed nearly 4,000 missiles and rockets during the 34-day conflict. Now Hezbollah’s reputed to have 45,000 missiles.

Those attacks by largely unguided rockets killed 54 Israelis. The Armaggedon-like scenario now envisaged by Israel’s military will involve thousands of casualties if the missile bombardment is sustained for several weeks, as planners believe it will.

If Israel attacks the Iranian nuclear facilities, then this type of scenario could be unleashed on Israel.

An Israeli nuclear response against its neighbors could very well serve as a triggering mechanism for a great-power war. I think one must assume that is true and prepare accordingly. Right now we are one slip-up or mistake away from a China-Japan-US war. Russia has already effectively threatened the US (the West) with nuclear attack if it keeps interfering in the affairs of countries in the Middle East. An Israeli nuclear attack on its neighbors could cause Muslims in Russia to increase efforts to destabilize Russia – unless Russia responds to Israel in some way. Both China and Russia are currently unstable, and that instability is getting worse as their economies decline.

What’s better:

Chinese and Russian leaders continue on current path causing a revolution. They will surely be put to death in this scenario.
Chinese and Russian leaders go to war against America. They sacrifice 90% of their population, but the leaders remain in power.

Historically, do leaders sacrifice their people in order to stay in power? You bet they do.
