The ancient megalithic site of Sillustani, just northwest of Lake Titicaca in Peru has large stone towers called Chullpa which most academics believe were funeral structures. You all should know that lightning likes to strike near rock that has conductivity.
So maybe first look to see if this is one of those hot spots where lay lines meet?
Then composition of rock near by.. it might be close to the surface.
