Forbidden Knowledge Part I

Then the serpent said to the woman, ''You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, 'knowing' good and evil.'' (Genesis 3:4-5)


The tragic irony in our fall from grace at the Garden of Eden was that in the promise of attaining ‘godhead’ status through the acquiring of forbidden knowledge, that knowledge had the opposite effect.  It removed Adam and Eve’s immortality and perfection, and traded it for mortality, death, and corruption.


They were before the fall, as close to being a ‘god’ as they ever would be.  Not that God created them to be gods, but compared to what we are today, they would have been viewed as godlike.  They could live forever so long as they remained under God’s protective umbrella; they were perfect, uncorrupted, and probably smarter than we ever could hope to be.  And since that time man's number one goal has been to regain the immortality he lost, through various schemes and efforts apart from his Creator.

Quote :

So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword that turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. (Gen 3:24 NKJV)

Movies today often romanticize the notion that life is possible for centuries, even millennia apart from the biblical concept of eternal life.  The truth is man would more resemble zombie, than teenage heartthrob vampire.


We would have rotted from the inside out, unable to die, but continuing to exist nonetheless. For the wages of sin is death…Romans 6:23 begins, and wages must be paid for all who sin.  And since by one man, sin entered into the human race (Rom 5:12), ALL would be in a continual state of death, unable to shed these bodies once time has worn them down.  That is why God forbade the way to the Tree of Life, and put a limit to man’s longevity for a reason.

Quote :

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3)

And thus we see man’s life dramatically reduced after the Flood to what it is today.


  After the fall but before the flood, man realized that he was mortal, and would die, sought ways to undo this.  The fallen angels, who had already sided with Satan prior to creation, also sought to capitalize on this in an attempt to corrupt man’s lineage, so that a Redeemer could not come, thus nullifying God’s prophetic promise (Gen. 3:15) of such a One who would come.  So they did, and Scripture records their deeds in Genesis 6, and also confirms them in the New Testament.

Quote :

For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment. (2 Peter 2:4)

Quote :

And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; (Jude 1:6)

The three passages of Scripture confirm that these angelic creatures broke a divinely sanctioned barrier that God put in place to prevent this from ever happening.  Their judgment was severe and a warning to any other angelic creature who might be tempted to commit a similar type of offense.
 
The Curse of Canaan

Quote :

There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Thosewere the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Genesis 6:4

We are able to fill in some of the gaps using two extra-biblical apocryphal sources that were well known in the days of Christ, and have just been recovered this past century with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.  According to the book of Jubilees and the book of Enoch, 200 “Watchers” descended down upon Mt. Hermon and came together in an agreement to take for themselves wives.  Both of these books were quoted by the early church fathers such as Irenaeus, Justin Martyr, Origen, and Epiphanius. 


Disclaimer: I understand that the book of Enoch is NOT Scriptural canon, but if Jesus’ half brother Jude can quote from it, I think I can as well.  Personally, I only use Enoch and Jubilees in so much as it agrees with what Scripture already states, but if it parts directions with Scripture, than we side with Scripture over any non-Biblical source.

Quote :

"And they took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in to them, and mixed with them, and taught them charms and conjurations, and made them acquainted with the cutting of roots and of woods. And they became pregnant and brought forth great giants whose stature was three thousand ells. These devoured all the acquisitions of mankind until men were unable to sustain themselves. And the giants turned themselves against mankind in order to devour them" (Enoch 7:1-4).

Many experts believe that it was first through the hybrid interbreeding between the ‘Watchers’ and human women, that man’s line first became genetically corrupted that lasted up until the flood.  If those ‘Watchers’ who sinned were immediately judged by God, how then were they able to produce more of these ‘giants’, or nephilim as the Hebrew calls them, after the Flood?


Going back to Jude and Peter’s scripture, these angels were judged, and sentenced to the abyss and will remain until Judgment Day.  But notice what these angels also did besides mixing with humans…they taught forbidden knowledge.  These angels were there at Creation.  Satan had already fallen because he was there in the garden posing as the serpent to tempt Eve.  They had a vastly superior understanding of how things work than did man; astronomy, chemistry, biology, botany, zoology, etc.  They figured out, because they understood to an advanced degree, how DNA worked; and that by breeding different things together (trial and error), you can get varying types of hybrid creatures.
 
Canaan was a son of Ham, an uncle to Nimrod, a grandson of Noah, and was the one who received the curse from Noah for his father’s sin of mocking him.  I often wondered why Canaan received the curse rather than his father Ham, who actually committed the offense.  I believe Noah prophetically cursed him, possibly knowing that Canaan would be the one to whom a greater offense would come through. 


From Genesis 9:24-25;

Quote :

So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.”   

From the book of Jubilees, chapter 10:29-34;

Quote :

And Canaan saw the land of Lebanon to the river of Egypt, that it was very good, and he went not into the land of his inheritance to the west (that is to) the sea, and he dwelt in the land of Lebanon, eastward and westward from the border of Jordan and from the border of the sea. [Compare with Gen. 10-19]
And Ham, his father, and Cush and Mizraim his brothers said unto him: 'Thou hast settled in a land which is not thine, and which did not fall to us by lot: do not do so; for if thou dost do so, thou and thy sons will fall in the land and (be)accursed through sedition; for by sedition ye have settled, and by sedition will thy children fall, and thou shalt be rooted out for ever.
Dwell not in the dwelling of Shem; for to Shem and to his sons did it come by their lot.

Quote :

Cursed art thou, and cursed shalt thou be beyond all the sons of Noah, by the curse by which we bound ourselves by an oath in the presence of the holy judge, and in the presence of Noah our father.'

Quote :

But he did not harken unto them, and dwelt in the land of Lebanon from Hamath to the entering of Egypt, he and his sons until this day.
And for this reason that land is named Canaan.

It is believed, that when Canaan settled into Shem’s land, that he did so in or around Mt. Hermon.  Mt. Hermon is located at the northern end of the Golan Heights, which separates modern day Israel from Lebanon.  For a fascinating and more in-depth read on Mt. Hermon, see here.
 
According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, Hermon means "Forbidden Place." Jerome (4th-century translator of the Latin Vulgate Bible) interpreted Hermon as "anathema." Mount Hermon was the port of entry for a group of wicked angels, who corrupted the human race in the days of Noah.


So if the book of Jubilees can be trusted as a source historically, then Canaan would have settled in the Promised Land roughly 700 years before Joshua entered in.  By the end of the Exodus, Joshua and Caleb, along with the ten other spies secretly searched out the land of Canaan, only to make a ghastly discovery…giants.

Quote :

Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”  But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they arestronger than we.” And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:30-34)

So how could there be giants again?  Did more even more fallen angels come down and mate with Canaan’s descendants to create a hybrid race?  Considering the severity of the punishment God used against those previous 200 ‘Watchers’, it seems unlikely.  And it couldn’t be the same Watchers, as those angels who now were confined to the abyss as punishment. 


There is an alternative explanation though.  From Jubilees, chapter 8:1-4;

1. In the twenty-ninth jubilee, in the first week, [1373 A.M.] in the beginning thereof Arpachshad took to himself a wife and her name was Rasu'eja, the daughter of Susan, the daughter of Elam, and she bare him a son in the third year in this week, [1375 A.M.] and he called his name Kainam.
   
2. And the son grew, and his father taught him writing, and he went to seek for himself a place where he might seize for himself a city.
   
3. And he found a writing which former (generations) had carved on the rock, and he read what was thereon, and he transcribed it and sinned owing to it; for it contained the teaching of the Watchers in accordance with which they used to observe the omens of the sun and moon and stars in all the signs of heaven.
   
4. And he wrote it down and said nothing regarding it; for he was afraid to speak to Noah about it lest he should be angry with him on account of it.         Arpachshad, or as is spelled in Genesis 10:22, Arphaxad, was one of the sons of Shem.  It is possible that when the “Watchers” were teaching all sorts of forbidden knowledge to the antediluvian peoples that along the way, they placed these teachings into stone, which would have survived the Great Flood.

Forbidden Knowledge Part II

Man sought the forbidden to regain that which was lost at the garden and Satan used man’s desire to try and prevent He who would come, from coming.  Forbidden knowledge, which for most of our existence, remained just out of man’s reach, has now come full circle.  We live in a day and age when science has replaced the supernatural as man’s means to unlock the mysteries of life. 


Canaan Continued


Canaan was not physically forced to settle in Shem’s land, but may have been demonically influenced to deviate from the land he was originally given by Noah, to take Shem’s.  Satan may have guided him to find the instructions left behind on stone by the Watchers, and to build through inter-breeding (ie…genetic manipulation) a mighty army that would prevent him from ever having to be a servant to his brothers. (Gen. 9:25)


This forbidden knowledge wouldn’t have been anything Canaan or Cush, or any other normal person would have been able to devise on their own, but would have had help from supernatural entities.  It is reasonable to assume, that because of this, he was able to produce offspring who would continue to grow in height and stature to the point that they were no longer considered “normal” in the general sense. I don’t believe they were the same as before the flood, because there was a more ‘hands on’ approach then, that was lacking in the post-flood world.


Whatever else was included in their interbreeding is unknown to us, but whatever knowledge they used; it must have been to such an extent, that it changed their makeup down to the molecular level within the human race.  All we know for sure though, is that there were giants before the flood, and also afterwards.  It was these people, those of Canaan’s descendants that God instructed the Israelites to utterly destroy.


Of note, the false gods in which the Tribe of Dan introduced to the rest of the Israelites were in fact, Canaanite in nature; Baal and Ashtaroth being the two most predominant ones.  It is also attributed to the Tribe of Dan that many believe THE Antichrist will come out of [Gen. 49:17; Deut. 33:22; Jer. 8:16; John 5:43].  It would seem that all mythology has a base foundation from this time prior to the flood, when the “Watchers” were tinkering around with the human and animal races; Chaldean, Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman mythology all have similar gods, goddesses, and story lines.


The Age of Reason: The Quest for Godhood


As we departed the Dark Ages, man’s corruption of organized religion became refocused and rechanneled onto the sciences.  We began to understand how things work at a more fundamental level, we began to progress forward in knowledge which helps generate the technology needed to continue progressing in said knowledge, which then furthers our knowledge, which requires even more technology.  This cycle has propelled us in almost every area of endeavor, from the telescope to the space station. 


This unlocking or unveiling of the natural world since the 20th century onward had been progressing very rapidly until Charles Darwin’s On the Origen of Species, coupled with Marxist ideology, implemented radical and fundamental setbacks to man’s progress.  These ideas were radical in their own light, but had very disastrous, unintended consequences.  In other words, they stymied man’s progress for about 70 years.  Because these two ideologies were faulty from the get-go, they led mankind down rabbit trails that only offered as an end state, confusion and disaster.  The unforeseen consequences of these two ideologies were Eugenics and socialism.


These radical ideas were then adopted by post-World War I German’s, who turned their version of Socialism, into National Socialism (NAZI), and married that with the Darwinian concept of ‘survival of the fittest’, along with Nietzsche’s “der Wille zur Macht” (will to power), which coupled with American and European eugenics, sought to purify the race of invalids, ignorant, and diseased, which primarily meant the minorities and the undesirables. 


Both the German NAZIs and the Japanese Imperial forces put these brutal philosophies to the test in their concentration camps and in their research.  It wasn’t until toward the end of the war did the United States and Allied Powers realize, the extent of devastation there was on human life.


As the victors of WWII, the United States government aggressively accumulated this ‘forbidden knowledge’ through collecting up documentation, research, and scientists fromUnit 731 and the Third Reich who worked inside of the German concentration camp systems.  We even brought over many of the scientists to work for us directly through projects like Operation Paperclip.  We didn’t have to get our hands dirty with the process, but we weren’t about to throw away all the results either.


Around the same time as the ending of World War II, two men, James Watson and Francis Crick, finally and correctly created the ‘Double Helix’ diagram that we now have come to understand today as Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).  Both of these men were Secular Humanist, and didn’t care for God or Creation, but saw science as the means to unlock the riddles of life…and their discovery was certainly huge.


For the first time since the days of Noah, this knowledge gave scientists the means to understand the makeup of the human body down to the molecular level.  And now science has propelled the notion that we can play God and start tinkering around with what it means to be human.  One of the most attractive goals, aside from curing diseases and creating perfect humans, is increasing man’s lifespan.  That goal will certainly never run short of funding.


Forty Six and 2


Simultaneous to all these events, were men who believed that man was still in the process of evolving to a higher state.  Carl Jung, the famed Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist,taught this.  He believed that both men and women had anima and animus, the shadow, and the archetype which more or less, controlled how we lived from day to day, and as we go through various stages of our life.  A New Ager and Jungian protégé, Drunvalo Melchizedek, furthered this false teaching by saying that…

"There are three totally different kinds of humans on the Earth, meaning that they perceive the One reality in three different ways, interpreted differently. The first kind of human has a chromosome composition of 42+2. They comprise a unity consciousness that does not see anything outside themselves as being separate from themselves. To them, there is only one energy - one life, one beingness that moves everywhere. Anything happening anywhere is within them, as well. They are like cells in the body. They are all connected to a single consciousness that moves through all of them. These are (like) the aboriginals in Australia. There might (also) be a few African tribes left like this. Then, there is our level, comprising 44+2 chromosomes. We are a disharmonic level of consciousness that is used as a steppingstone from the 42+2 level to the next level, 46+2...These two additional chromosomes change everything."

This essentially was the next ‘evolutionary’ step of mankind, that man would continue to become more than he is today.  This, along with the other philosophies and anti-God doctrines tie into the whole concept of the “Christ-Consciousness” which has become popular in New Age circles.  They view man as being on the cusp of the next great leap forward, which oddly enough, is tied into the Rapture of the Church.  They view the coming Rapture as the world cleansing itself of those who are unfit for this evolutionary leap.

The Greys


The Greys are the name given to the extra-terrestrial beings that supposedly live here on earth in various places, either posing as humans or remain hidden but are being sheltered by various intra-government agencies.  Supposedly, these Greys are trading their technological know-how, in exchange for knowledge of our DNA.
  Considering all the ‘abductees’ stories of being experimented on, that would certainly make sense.  It is believed that these Greys are divided into different groups that will help unify all of mankind, by presenting a false threat that unifies the human race into one, while simultaneously, bringing their own Messiah that would lead mankind into a glorious, peaceful future. (Rider on the white horse anyone?)


The Days of Noah


Considering all the scientific evidence, public acknowledgments, video, and photographic pictures and footage of unidentified flying objects, it would not be prudent to simply shrug these things off as mere fiction.  One has to conclude that either this is the most elaborate hoax in the world, or it is true.


As Christians we should understand that these “Greys”, or aliens are nothing more than demonic beings and whose intent has and always will be, malevolent and wicked.  The reason we have enough evidence to not dismiss them, but nothing so concrete that we can positively expose it to the world is, because I think they still fear the punishment that God imposed many millennia ago, on those original 200 “Watchers” that descended down on Mt. Hermon.


The “days of Noah” to me, has only been half interpreted, because Noah lived before and after the Flood.  There is the clearly directed signs of his time, that of; buying and selling, marrying, and given in marriage, that serve as the markers of normalcy which would be prevalent at the time Christ returns for His Church.  But there is also the ‘fallen angels’ and their corruption of mankind, which, with the exception of Noah (tamiym), was the primary reason for God destroying the world with a Deluge.

This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:9

Conclusion


A lot of this is speculation, and from sources that we can’t 100% verify, so I bring it to your attention for two reasons:

1. So that when you hear about it, you will have a basic understanding.
   
2. To demystify its alluring mysteriousness of it.
   

The primary difference then between the days before the flood, and the days after, is the absence of these physical interactions between the demonic beings and mankind.  But we were left with that forbidden knowledge, (paganism, astrology, idolatry, etc) which has corrupted generation after generation for millennia.


God placed a barrier on certain things for very good reasons, namely, our own protection as we can clearly see from the Garden of Eden.  We know we are in the very last moments, of the last days, because man has again achieved a level of understanding that will only end in disaster. (Gen 11:5-6)


As we draw closer to the end of our age, realize that the supernatural again will become a tool Satan uses to deceive mankind.  Because man is corrupt, and Satan is still in the business of devouring and destroying men’s souls. We must always be on guard until THAT Day arrives and we are caught up to be with our Lord and Savior, forever.
