Last night on the Haggmans' Stan Deyo mentioned this man as a friend and as a top-notch researcher (about minute 130).  I found his site and it is very interesting - it has the hard-core science and also essays for laymen.

Stan mentioned him in connection with the find in China of the dinosaurs with flesh and feathers still attached.  He was giddy with excitement (only Stan can pull off giddy with such manly charm).
