DALLAS – Officials with the Center of Disease Control have confirmed the first case of Ebola in the U.S. in Dallas. The CDC will host a press conference at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to address the issue.
Officials at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital say the patient is being kept in isolation until preliminary results came back Tuesday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 12 other people in the U.S. have been tested for Ebola since July 27. Those tests came back negative.
Hospital officials said in a statement that the latest patient’s symptoms and recent travel indicated a possible case of Ebola. The virus has killed more than 3,000 people in West Africa and infected a handful of Americans who traveled to that region.
Presbyterian Hospital officials say they’re following CDC recommendations to keep doctors, staff and patients safe.  (read more)

UPDATE: Ebola Alert: CDC Teams Mobilized and Dispatched to Dallas

UPDATED 15:00 CDT

The Centers for Disease Control have been mobilized and are dispatching teams to Dallas, TX.

Zachary Thompson, the director of the Dallas County Health & Human Services, says the Center for Disease Control is mobilizing as if the patient tested positive for the virus.

However, he said Dallas County is ready if the patient’s results come back positive.

“This is not Africa,” Thompson said. “We have a great infrastructure to deal with an outbreak.”

(WFAA ABC)

Note to readers: There has been no confirmation that the patient isolated in Dallas is infected with Ebola. CDC testing labs will reportedly have results sometime today.

ORIGINAL REPORT PUBLISHED SEP 29, 22:13 CDT

The virus that has infected nearly 10,000 people in West Africa and killed over 3,000 so far this year may now be in America.

Multiple news sources are reporting that an individual showing symptoms of the Ebola virus has been admitted to a hospital in Dallas, Texas. The patient, whose travel history suggests he or she may have been exposed to the virus, has been isolated and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas says it is following testing and quarantine procedures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control.

Test samples have been sent to the CDC and preliminary test results are expected Tuesday morning.

In a statement released Monday evening, a spokesperson for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas said the patient is undergoing evaluation for Ebola based on the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history.

Further details on the patient were not released due to medical confidentiality and personal privacy reasons.

“The hospital is following all Centers for Disease Control and Texas Department of Heath recommendations to ensure the safety of patients, hospital staff, volunteers, physicians and visitors,” according to the hospital’s statement. (Source: NBC DFW & MyFox)

Over the past month several patients have been admitted to U.S. hospitals in California, New York, and Georgia reporting symptoms similar to Ebola but test results in all cases have thus far shown negative for the virus.

But that hasn’t stopped the CDC from preparing guidelines for hospitals around the country with instructions on how to identify suspected cases, testing recommendations, and quarantine procedures. Earlier this year, in anticipation of a potential pandemic, the U.S. government distributed Ebola Bio Detection kits to National Guard units in all 50 states. In September the State Department ordered 160,000 protective HAZMAT suits for aid workers in Africa and other regions that may eventually see infections.

Independent research models have suggested the possibility that up to 100,000 people may be infected with the virus by the end of this year. The World Health Organization has warned that up to one million people in Africa could be infected with the virus by early next year if it continues spreading at its current pace. And most terrifying is a contagion model developed by researchers at MIT and the New England Complex Systems Institute which suggests that even a single infected individual travelling through a major airport hub has the potential to start the virus on a doomsday course that would eventually touch all corners of the globe:

Health care workers around the world have been mobilized and the director of the CDC said in early September that the window of opportunity for containing Ebola was closing rapidly. President Obama has deployed 3,000 U.S. soldiers as part of a recovery team sent to Africa to help control the spread of the virus.

But, as evidenced by research models, concerns from global health care workers and the real possibility of an Ebola infection on U.S. soil, it may already be too late.

What is not being said publicly about the virus but is a major concern behind closed doors is that Ebola’s hyper-evolution is unprecedented and there is widespread concern that it could go airborne much like a common cold or flu. The CDC has admitted that it can be transmitted through the air in the form of water droplets already, but they have yet to admit that it is an airborne contagion.

As we’ve seen in Africa, health care workers seem unable to contain the virus. Whether or not the virus has infected the individual in Dallas, there is a real possibility that it will eventually make its way to the United States. Since there is no cure, the only way to survive such an outbreak is to avoid it.

“Taking preventative action now is critical,” says The Prepper’s Blueprint author Tess Pennington. “Because once it’s confirmed in the United States people are going to panic and medical supplies will disappear from the shelves within a matter of hours.”

Pennington provides a checklist for a basic pandemic preparedness supply list at her web site and recommends, among other things:

WHO recommended N-100 respirator masks
Tyvek protective body suits
protective eyewear
gloves
shoe coverings
Hand sanitizers
(Full List)

She also recommends building a well stocked sick room and stocking up on other essential supplies that may disappear in an emergency.

As of this writing no Ebola infection “in the wild” has been detected in the United States. We’ll keep readers posted on the results from Dallas as soon as they become available. Keep in mind, however, that tens of thousands of aid workers around the world have been mobilized. They are expecting this to keep spreading. The only way to have a chance against a virus without a cure or vaccine is to not contract it. Take preventative measures now.

First Ebola Case Confirmed in Dallas; DFR Crew Quarantined
Dallas Fire-Rescue crew quarantined after transporting Ebola patient
By Frank Heinz

Dr. Tom Frieden, Director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention discusses the first Ebola case in Dallas.
Tuesday, Sep 30, 2014 • Updated at 7:09 PM CDT
A person who moved from Liberia to Dallas a week ago has tested positive for Ebola, becoming the first person diagnosed in the U.S. with the potentially deadly virus, the City of Dallas confirmed Tuesday.
There is no doubt in my mind that we will stop it here.Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The patient was hospitalized at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday after falling ill four days earlier, on Sept. 24.
The Dallas Fire-Rescue ambulance crew who transported the infected man to the hospital is being quarantined and monitored for Ebola symptoms, Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings told NBC 5, and the ambulance used to transport the man has been pulled from service.
The number of people in the DFR crew being monitored is not known.
After receiving the Ebola diagnosis, the city activated its Emergency Operations Center and is on Level 2: High Readiness.

The patient showed no symptoms of the virus when he left Liberia on Sept. 19 and arrived in the U.S. a day later, according to CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden.
The patient didn't begin developing symptoms of the virus until Sept. 24 and sought care on Friday. He was hospitalized the following Sunday and placed in isolation.
According to the City of Dallas, the patient had moved to Dallas a week ago.
North Texas Patient Tested for Ebola Virus
At this time, state and federal health officials said there are no other confirmed or suspected cases of Ebola virus in the state.
The CDC is working to identify and monitor all the people who may have come into contact with the patient while he was infectious. Those people, like the DFR fire crew, will be monitored for 21 days for Ebola symptoms.
Should symptoms develop, those patients too will be isolated, and investigators will then determine who they came into contact with and monitor those people for symptoms.
"I have no doubt that we will control this importation or this case of the Ebola so that it does not spread widely in this country. It is certainly possible that someone who had contact with this individual, a family member, or other individual, could develop Ebola in the coming weeks, but there is no doubt in my mind that we will stop it here," said Frieden.
The Ebola diagnosis was confirmed Tuesday after specimens were sent from Presbyterian Hospital to the Texas public health laboratory in Austin, the Texas Department of State Health Services said Tuesday.
The Austin lab, which was certified last month to test for Ebola, confirmed the result and sent the sample to the CDC in Atlanta, which confirmed it.

Dallas Patient the Fifth Ebola Patient Treated in U.S. This Year
The patient is the fifth person treated for Ebola in the country this year after missionaries Dr. Kent Brantly, Nancy Writebol and Dr. Rick Sacra all contracted the virus while working in West Africa.
The Dallas patient will continue to be treated at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, according to Dr. Edward Goodman, hospital epidemiologist at Presbyterian.

Both Brantly and Writebol have fully recovered, after they were given experimental drugs and were treated at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta in August.
Sacra was treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and was released Sept. 25. He had been working in Liberia on behalf of SIM.
The identity and condition of the fourth patient has not been released. It is believed that they are still being treated at Emory Hospital.
Writebol issued a statement Tuesday after learning of the new diagnosis in Dallas on Tuesday.
"We are sad for the family of the patient and pray for recovery to good health. It is a mercy that the best medical care is available. We also pray for the safety of the medical staff attending to the patient," she said.

How is Ebola Spread?
Ebola is a severe, often fatal disease spread through close, direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids of a living or dead person who had contracted Ebola. The virus is only contagious when symptoms are present, and it is not spread through the air, through food or water.
What to Know: How Ebola is Spread
Symptoms for Ebola virus involve a fever, severe headache, muscle pain, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and unexplained hemorrhage. Symptoms appear anywhere from two to 21 days after exposure but the average is eight to 10 days.
If someone exposed to Ebola has not shown symptoms for 21 days they are not expected to develop Ebola.
According to the CDC, recovery from Ebola depends on the patient's immune response. People who recover from Ebola infection develop antibodies that last for about 10 years.
The CDC said the United States is well-equipped to manage and treat Ebola and that the chances of an outbreak like the one in West Africa is extremely low.

Dallas Mayor: EMS Crew And Ambulance Used In Ebola Case Isolated
September 30, 2014 5:09 PM

DALLAS, TX (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings confirmed an EMS crew and ambulance that was used to transport a patient now confirmed to have the Ebola virus in Dallas has been isolated. “We have quarantined both them and the unit itself to make sure that nothing was there that can be spread and we’re going about our protocol about how to do that,” said the mayor. “We’ve created an emergency center at Dallas City Hall that are going through those procedures right now. So we’re taking all precautions to make sure everybody’s safe. “
The Mayor expressed his concerns for all involved as well. “First and foremost we have got to have our thoughts and prayers for this man who is very sick; who hopefully will get well… but we’re going to make sure everybody else is safe at the same time.
Dallas Fire and Rescue Officials say the ambulance has been “decontaminated.
Mayor Rawlings also expressed his confidence in medical workers at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and Dallas County Health and Human Services regarding their handling of a confirmed case of Ebola in Dallas County. “This is a serious issue but I’m very confident in this passenger plane with them as the pilots.”
“I think the great news about living in Dallas is you’ve got a high degree of professionalism both at Presbyterian and at the county level,” he told CBS 11 News. “I have corresponded with those folks; listened to their plans; and I don’t think anything else can be done. Everybody’s got protocol. They’re dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s,” he continued.

Stew Webb, a federal whistleblower and writer for VeteransToday.com just told me some shocking information about Ebola from one of his whistleblower sources.  This source has always given him accurate information in the past.  Stew was told by the source that school age children have been in contact with the Ebola victim in Texas and that there are over 100 possible cases of ebola in the Dallas area now awaiting testing to confirm.  Again, the source says 100 plus awaiting testing so it’s not confirmed yet but if there are more than 100 waiting for results you can be sure we have some new confirmed cases there.   The source said the kids that were in contact with the Ebola victim had been going to school so clearly there is a danger here and I pray that it has not gotten into the schools.

Dr. Croft Confirmed 30 Ebola Cases in US as of 8-8-14!
Dr. William Croft who has been interviewed by Stew Webb many times told Stew on 8-8-14 that he had confirmed 30 cases of Ebola in the United States at that time!   Dr. Croft had got confirmation from over 38 doctors and nurses on 8-8-14 there were 30 confirmed Ebola cases in the United States!   Clearly, if there were 30 cases that he knew of at that time, then there are most likely hundreds of cases out there in the US at least.  We do know one thing.  The mainstream news will never tell us the truth, they only tell us what their masters want them to tell us.  I’m sure they will keep us in the dark as long as they can and just dribble out cases and tell us everything is under control.   I put this information out not to spread fear but to just give you other sources for information so you can get prepared regardless.

Here’s the clip that talks about what Dr. Croft told Stew Webb.

30 Cases of Ebola Were in the United States as of 8-8-14 According to Dr. Croft Who Confirmed it with 38 doctors and nurses.

Stay tuned to VeteransToday.com becuase Gene Tatum (CIA whistleblower) is working on a big story about Ebola right now and it should be out shortly.  You can see Gene Tatum’s page on VeteransToday here:
http://www.veteranstoday.com/author/tatum/
He has done a couple of stories already on Ebola.  Here are those two other stories he has done.  By the way on a recent episode of VeteransToday Radio Gene Tatum strongly hinted that entire African villages had been destroyed in the past to test weapons or to stop Ebola similar to what was done in the movie Outbreak here!  He said this was done becuase most people would never know when a village was wiped out or wouldn’t care!
