A first responder was shot during an active shooter situation in Southeast Dallas Monday morning.
According to early reports, officers got a call around 11:30 a.m. Monday about a possibly suicidal man on Reynolds Avenue near Dolphin Road and Interstate 30.
When officers got to the neighborhood they spotted a man with a rifle walking down the street. There were reports of shots being fired.
Sources told SuperStation95 a firefighter/Paramedic was hit and rushed to a local hospital for surgery.
“There is another active shooter in Dallas. This time a fireman has been shot, and officers are pinned down by gunfire. Please pray!” DPA said on Twitter.
Police are still looking for the suspect in the area. He’s described as a black male who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He is bald and walks with a noticeable limp.
Residents in the area are being asked to take cover.
