These guys have expressed 1st amendment right to their "free speech". Having said that team owners have the right to ground anyone not representing the team in a positive light. These guys need to be told by the owners to get off the field and "hit the lockers" the moment that they act out. That is the owners right to do so.
But they don't! Might offend someone? Maybe?
The minute a player decides to act out in a negative manor and the team owners don't act on it the fans need to stand up, turn, and leave the stadium. Many already haven't renewed season tickets and tee-vee viewership is tanking. Stadium seats are half full.

The quote above says it all.
The diehard sport fan cult members won't do it. Sports is like a drug to them. They would support the anti-christ all the way to hell if he promised them more of their drug. We all know people like this! But a tipping point is approaching where the fans are starting to say "ENOUGH" and are leaving. That means less $$$ for sports and we all know how the almighty $$$ speaks, don't we?
Money talks . . .
