Jan 31: Super Blue Moon Eclipse: It’s not just a lunar eclipse, or a Blue Moon, or a supermoon. It’s all three!

The rare happening is the result of two concurrent lunar phenomena: It’s the second full moon of the month (blue moon), and the moon will pass into the shadow of the Earth cast by the sun (total lunar eclipse). It’s been over 150 years since the last occurance.

Jan 31: Super Blue Moon Eclipse: It’s not just a lunar eclipse, or a Blue Moon, or a supermoon. It’s all three!

The Blue Moon – second of two full moons in one calendar month – will pass through the Earth’s shadow on January 31, 2018, to give us a total lunar eclipse. Totality, when the moon will be entirely inside the Earth’s dark umbral shadow, will last a bit more than one-and-a-quarter hours.
The January 31 full moon is also the third in a series of three straight full moon supermoons – that is, super-close full moons. It’s the first of two Blue Moons in 2018.

A super blood moon eclipse will take place on January 31, 2018. via AP

So it’s not just a lunar eclipse, or a Blue Moon, or a supermoon. It’s all three … a super Blue Moon eclipse!
It’s also the first Blue Moon total eclipse in 150 years.

If you live in North America or the Hawaiian Islands, this lunar eclipse will be visible in your sky before sunrise on January 31. On the other hand, if you live in the Middle East, Asia, Indonesia, Australia or New Zealand, this lunar eclipse will happen in the evening hours after sunset on January 31.

If you mean the Hawaii alert, I don't buy it either. And with Huma in Hawaii I double don't buy it. Those are dots that may or may not connect.

(CIA SPONSORED) Facebook has designed a way to track you and your friends using the dust and scratches on your camera lens.

The social networking giant outlines how it would connect users by matching similarities in their uploaded photos in a newly found patent.
If two people have used the same digital camera, Facebook could link them by detecting similar dust or scratch marks in their uploaded photos.
The company says it has 'never implemented' the technology described in the patent, but has not ruled out using it in future.
It follows new that Facebook plans to put a microphone and camera in every home via a £370 ($500) video chat device set for released this year.

FACEBOOK FRIEND SUGGESTIONS

In its online guidelines, Facebook states that People You May Know suggestions come from mutual friends, as well as people in the same Facebook groups as you.
Other factors that can influence suggestions include your networks, for example your school, university or work, and contacts you've uploaded.

Facebook says more than 100 'signals' go into making the recommendations, and that no one signal alone can trigger a friend suggestion.
Some claim Facebook recommends potential friends based on your phone's location, shared contacts, and facial recognition from photographs.
Rumours suggest the social network uses IP addresses people have signed in on, or Wi-Fi networks they have both used, to link profiles.

Gizmodo has uncovered a Facebook patent that shows it could one day use data stored on your photos to suggest people you might know on the platform.
The technology would match photos uploaded to different accounts and apply it to Facebook's People You May Know (PYMK) feature.
PYMK suggests potential mutual connections based on your friends list, Facebook groups, and a host of other information linked to your account.
If Facebook integrates the newly-found patent, PYMK would assume two people know each other if images they have uploaded share similar file names.
The software would detect photos that look as though they were part of the same image series, such as a pair titled 'IMG_5803921.jpg' and 'IMG_5803932'.
It would assume these images have been taken on the same camera, suggesting the two people who uploaded them have met.
The software could also detect photos captured on the same camera by matching scuffs, dust or other lens marks.
If implemented, people you have sent photos to, and who have then uploaded them to Facebook, would begin appearing in your PYMK section.
In its patent, which was filed in 2015 but uncovered by Gizmodo yesterday, Facebook writes: 'Images uploaded by users of a social networking system are analysed to determine signatures of cameras used to capture the images.

WATCH: COPS TASER AND TEAR GAS MAN SIMULTANEOUSLY—CAUSING HIM TO BURST INTO FLAMES
Published: January 13, 2018

SOURCE: THE FREE THOUGHT PROJECT

(RT) — Bodycam footage of an altercation between an already injured man and French police captures the moment the suspect burst into flames after being simultaneously tear gassed and tasered. The video has been making rounds online.
The shocking video was captured by the bodycam of one of the officers involved in the incident, which dates back to July 2013, but has surfaced on social media only this week.
The video shows a shirtless and visibly agitated man with one of his arms covered in blood moving towards officers while insisting he had done nothing wrong. Although the man does not appear to be overtly aggressive, he repeatedly taunts the officers and refuses to obey when told to stop and put the hands behind his back.

“Did I attack you!? Get your hands off me! Don’t touch me! No, no, don’t touch me. Motherf**er, are you gonna arrest me!?” the man is heard saying.
Police initially try to calm the man down, with one of the officers saying: “You don’t need to be scared … Call an ambulance, he cannot stay like that.”
However, as the man begins hurling insults at the officers, goading them to use a taser, their patience apparently wears thin. “We’re gonna bring him in for contempt of cop!” says an officer, as the situation escalates quickly.
Shortly afterwards, one of the officers strikes the man’s legs several times with a baton, while two others fire tear gas and a stun gun at the same time. The combination causes the man to burst into flames.
The officers then pin the man to the ground in an attempt to put out the fire. The audio record indicates the incident was a freak accident, not a deliberate action by police, as one of the officers can be heard shouting: “Who gassed him?!” before asking the suspect whether he is alright. The suspect replies: “I’m gonna die.”
It is unclear what preceded the standoff and no information on the suspect has been made available. An internal investigation was conducted but did not resulted in any charges being filed or punishments for the officers involved, French media reports.
While the video of the incident suggests the man was in a lot of pain during the confrontation, police spokesman told LCI news he did not sustain any serious injuries.
French police have repeatedly faced accusations of using excessive force and abuse in recent years. An anti-drug police operation in western France triggered a social media ridicule after it was revealed a total of 24 officers and two sniffer dogs were sent on a raid which yielded a mere 7 grams of cannabis.
Police were granted sweeping powers under the new anti-terrorism law that replaced a two-year state of emergency imposed in the wake of the deadly 2015 Paris terrorist attacks. An extra 10,000 officers and gendarmes will be hired under the new law, approved by the French Parliament in October.
The French capital, Paris, frequently hosts mass protests against brutality and alleged racial profiling by police. In February last year, the city was gripped with protests after a 22-year-old black man claimed a police officer had raped him with a baton in the course of a routine ID check.
In April, outrage following the killing of a Chinese man in his house by police led to violent clashes between protesters and officers in Paris.

Update 2: More details are coming out surrounding just how this terrifying false alert impacted Hawaii's citizens.

SPRING'S 1-13-2017 1NE FLU OVER DA COOKOO NEST & MORE 20180113_HI1_0
NBC News reports that the ballistic missile threat left people "crying and screaming" in Hawaii on Saturday, the state's officials said the message was sent in error.

Quote :
California resident Elizabeth Fong is in Hawaii looking to buy a house and received the alert. She said she didn't receive a correction alert, stating it was a false alarm, until 8:46 a.m.

The aftermath of the false alert was "crazy," she told NBC Bay Area, andprompted people to run around on the streets "crying and screaming," wondering what to do.
"I prayed to God and asked for forgiveness of my sins and for Him to protect us," she said, adding that people are still shaken up.
Andy Thammavongsa, who tweeted a screenshot of his phone that showed the time between each alert, lives in Ewa Beach and told NBC in a Twitter message, "Everyone was panicking, the whole island was awake and alert."
He added that "there's nothing really you can do honestly" if the alert were real, saying there's "nowhere to take shelter, the island is only so big."

As we detailed below, many people in Hawaii took to social media during and after the alert.
*  *  *
Update 1: Gov. David Ige and head of Hawaii's Emergency Management agency, Vern Miyagi, told Hawaii News Now that the false alert was the result of human error - and boiled down to someone pushing the wrong button.
Oddly, while the local officials proclaimed it an error, The White House described a false inbound missile alert received by Hawaii residents on Saturday morning as an "emergency management exercise," offering no further explanation for the erroneous warning.

Quote :
"The President has been briefed on the state of Hawaii's emergency management exercise," White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters told reporters in West Palm Beach, Fla.
"This was a state exercise," she added.

Shortly after 8am local time Saturday, Hawaii's emergency alert system sent out a shocking tweet to its citizens: "Ballistic Missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek Immediate shelter, This is not a drill."
The emergency alert was sent to all cellphones...

And interrupted Hawaiian TV...

Hawaiians who got up early to watch soccer or basketball instead got the scary, robotic voice warning of a missile’s imminent impact.

Hawaii Emergency Management Agency spokesman Richard Repoza confirmed it's a false alarm. He says the agency is trying to determine what happened.
And Rep. Tulsi Gabbard quickly took to Twitter to confirm the emergency alert a false alarm...

Quote :

U.S. Pacific Command spokesman Cmdr. David Benham said in a statement that PACOM "has detected no ballistic missile threat to Hawaii" and that an "earlier message was sent in error."
Politicians wasted not time in pointing fingers and assigning blame...

Quote :
“It was a false alarm based on human error,” Democratic Senator Brian Schatzof Hawaii later said on Twitter, without offering evidence. Schatz said Hawaii’s roughly 1.5 million residents were “terrified. There needs to be tough and quick accountability and a fixed process.”

“At a time of heightened tensions, we need to make sure all information released to the community is accurate,” Senator Mazie Hirono, a Democrat, said on Twitter. “We need to get to the bottom of what happened and make sure it never happens again.”

And Gabbard was then quick to take to MSNBC proclaiming that "our leaders have failed us. Donald Trump is taking too long... he's not taking this [nuclear] threat seriously..."

Hawaii has been on high alert given claims by North Korea that its newest intercontinental ballistic missile could fly 13,000 kilometers (8,000 miles). If true, that would put even the mainland U.S. within range from Pyongyang. The isolated nation conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on Sept. 3, and launched more than a dozen missiles in the past year.
Hawaiians on Twitter are not happy about this false alarm and who can blame them.

Quote :

@mastermindhi - Held my babies and prayed
@MichaelRobison - So, is this truly a mistake?!!!?? Sirens are going off and people are in absolute panic....

In the last month they have begun preparations for a nuclear attack, as SHTFplan.com's Mac Slavo details...
The previously retired air raid warning sirens from the Cold War era in Hawaii will be wailing again come December. Only this time, it’s due to the rising tensions between the United States and North Korea.
SPRING'S 1-13-2017 1NE FLU OVER DA COOKOO NEST & MORE 20171127_sirenm
Hawaii has long been a military defense outpost, sparking fears that North Korea could target the island.

Quote :
“I suppose that’s necessary as a precaution,” said Ted Tsukiyama, a Hawaiian resident, and WWII veteran.

“But I don’t think North Korea is gonna attack,” Tsukiyama said. “They’d be foolish to threaten South Korea or Japan or the United States.”

But the concerns are growing as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has repeatedly threatened to drop a bomb over the Pacific Ocean, and President Donald Trump has threatened North Korea with “fire and fury” and designated North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism.  In turn, North Korea has continually failed to abide by the United Nations sanctions placed on them, as they advance their weapons of mass destruction.
Sirens were installed around Hawaii after the second world war started, according to Tsukiyama, and there would be periodic tests.

Quote :
“I remember hearing the sirens going off. The radio would give us a warning: ‘This is only a test, don’t get alarmed,’” said Tsukiyama, who was born and raised in Hawaii.

According to Vern Miyagi, administrator of the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA), which is part of the state’s Department of Defense, the chances North Korea will act are unlikely, but making sure Hawaii is prepared is still vital.

Quote :
“If North Korea launches against us or our allies, the retaliation would be complete and they would defeat North Korea’s ambition to continue its regime. The regime would probably end,” explained Miyagi.

He notes Hawaii is protected under the U.S. Pacific Command’s defensive umbrella, the anti-ballistic missile system, and it is home to the Pacific Command, the military’s headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region.
Miyagi has pointed out that “Hawaii is a likely target because we’re closer to North Korea than most of the continental United States… As we track the news and see tests, both missile launches, and nuclear tests, it’s the elephant in the room. We can’t ignore it. People of Hawaii need to know what Hawaii is doing in preparation for this.”
Hawaii has been ramping up their preparations in advance for a potential nuclear attack by North Korea.

The Aloha State is currently attempting to educate its 1.4 million residents, as well as its visitors, on how to prepare for a nuclear attack.  Hawaii has become one of the first states in the nation to initiate a nuclear preparedness campaign and starting December 1, it will reinstate the “attack warning” siren, which it hasn’t tested since the Cold War. The siren will follow the monthly “attention alert” signal, which warns people of an incoming tsunami or hurricane.
The state has also been holding community meetings and broadcasting public service announcements on TV and the radio to prepare people for a possible attack.  Gone are the days of “duck and cover” during the Cold War; today, the mantra is “shelter in place,” preferably in a concrete structure. Officials also recommend having enough food and water to survive for 48 hours and being prepared with supplies to last up to 14 days.
If North Korea launches a missile, officials estimate it would only take 20 minutes to reach its destination.  It would take about five minutes for the United States government to determine where the missile is going, which would leave about 12 to 15 minutes to warn the public.
I AM GOING TO RETIRE TO WATCHING SOMETHING MORE SANE, LIKE REPLAYS OF BREAKING BAD!

What Just Happened In Venezuela Shows Why Gold & Silver Can Be Better Than Land

January 13, 2018

Roving bands of hungry people are a reality in Venezuela, killing and taking whatever they can. The situation is getting worse by the day…

Editor’s Note: Just because events in Venezuela (or Zimbabwe) seem so far away and an impossibility in the United States, this goes to show that you can’t bug-out or escape with your land, but with gold & silver, you certainly can when society delves into this type of desperate barbarism attempting to stave of starvation…
*****
from Zero Hedge
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s plan to order markets to slash prices of food – an attempt to combat speculation and rampant inflation of the bolivar – has apparently backfired as mobs of hungry Venezuelans have started looting supermarkets and slaughtering cattle in the open to survive, Reuters  reports.
Last week, we reported on near-riots that broke out in Caracas after the mandatory price cuts for food stoked widespread shortages as what little inventory that remained on market shelves quickly disappeared.
Venezuelans are suffering from a plethora of economic and social maladies.Four years of recession and an inflation rate approaching 4,000% by some measures have made the country’s currency practically worthless. Widespread shortages of food and medicine led to violent riots during the spring and early summer of 2017 that resulted in more than 100 deaths, including the burning alive of one suspected Maduro supporter by a crowd of citizens. Law enforcement in the capital and many of the country’s smaller cities has effectively disbanded, leading to a rise in lynchings and streets justice. Indeed, suspected thieves are sometimes killed.
Venezuela’s regime probably would’ve collapsed by now if it weren’t for the aide of Russia and China, which have lent the Maduro regime money in exchange for a discount on future oil deliveries. But now that the price of oil is finally climbing again, Maduro could find himself rescued by commodity markets. In apparent anticipation of higher oil prices, the administration announced late last year that it would finally introduce “the Petro” – a state-designed cryptocurrency that will help Venezuela’s customers pay for their goods while circumventing the petrodollar system.
In a shocking example of just how severe Venezuela’s food shortages have become, a video on social media showed roughly a dozen men running into a lush pasture, chasing a cow, and then apparently beating it to death for the meat.

They’re hunting. The people are hungry!” says the narrator of the video, who filmed the incident from his car. Lawmaker Paparoni said some 300 animals were believed to have been killed, though this hasn’t been independently confirmed.

Violent lootings and hijackings – long a staple of life for Venezuela’s remaining merchants – are also growing increasingly common.
Zuley Urdaneta, a 50 year-old vet in Merida, witnessed the looting of a truck along the highway around 2 pm Thursday afternoon, she told Reuters. About two hours later, he said some 800 people converged on a food collection center and proceeded to plunder it.
“They knocked down the gates and looted flour, rice, cooking oil, cooking gas,” said Urdaneta. “The police and the National Guard tried to control the situation by giving out what was left.”
Despite the grinding poverty and widespread social unrest that has challenged the last vestiges of Chavismo, Maduro has effectively sidelined his opposition while brutally suppressing popular uprisings.
“What we’re living is barbaric,” said opposition lawmaker Juan Guaido in a tweet referencing the slaughter the cattle. “The dehumanizing regime of Nicolas Maduro is turning a blind eye to the tragedy that we Venezuelans are living.”
In a rare interview with western media published earlier this week, Maduro repeated his claim that the country’s economic collapse is the result of a conspiracy between his domestic political opponents and foreign powers like the CIA trying to foment an uprising and overturn what they perceive to be a hostile leftist regime.
The irony here, of course, is that the US and Venezuela had for years maintained a relatively peaceful and lucrative commercial relationship, evidenced by the success of Venezuela’s US subsidiary, Citgo. Even when former leader Hugo Chavez spewed anti-US rhetoric, he was behind the scenes cooperating with his purported imperialist foe.
Still, with supermarket shelves perennially empty and Treasury Department sanctions choking the regime off from the dollar-based global financial system, one can’t help but wonder how much longer Maduro can hang on before an outright rebellion erupts.

FCC says launching full inquiry into false Hawaii missile alert

(Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said on Saturday it was launching a full investigation into a false emergency alert that said a ballistic missile was headed for Hawaii, the chairman of the commission said.

The alerts to Hawaii cellphone users were issued at about 8:07 a.m. local time (1807 GMT), saying “ballistic missile threat inbound” and urging residents to seek shelter immediately. The message also appeared on Hawaii television stations, according to news reports. The alert was officially canceled about 38 minutes later.

The FCC has jurisdiction over the emergency alert system. Earlier this week, Pai said the FCC would vote at its January meeting to enhance the effectiveness of wireless emergency alerts, which have been in place since 2012.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai posted on Twitter that the FCC was launching a full investigation and FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel said the commission must find out what went wrong.

“Emergency alerts are meant to keep us and our families safe, not to create false panic. We must investigate and we must do better,” she wrote on Twitter.

CNN reported Hawaiian Governor David Ige told reporters the mistake was the result of human error and someone at the state emergency management agency pushed the “wrong button” during a shift change.

Wireless carriers do not prepare or write the alerts but they run simultaneously on all networks.

The FCC is working to better target alerts to impacted people and will vote this month on a proposal to “more precisely target these alerts to affected communities.”

Pai is proposing that providers “deliver these alerts to match the geographic area specified by the officials sending the alert with no more overshoot than one-tenth of a mile,” he said in a statement earlier this week.

Pai said the improved alerts will “lead Americans to take more seriously the alerts they receive on their mobile devices.”

Go home Hillary, you’re DRUNK: Hillary Clinton trashes Trump on Haiti, gets RIPPED by Conservatives
Twitchy January 13, 2018
Hillary Clinton tweeting about Haiti and trying to shame Trump for calling the country a sh*thole may be the most out of touch and ridiculous thing we’ve seen on Twitter, and we’ve seen a LOT of stupid stuff on the social media giant. Especially with what we know about the Clinton Foundation and the way they used Haiti for donations to pay for things like weddings.
Quote :
The anniversary of the devastating earthquake 8 years ago is a day to remember the tragedy, honor the resilient people of Haiti, & affirm America’s commitment to helping our neighbors. Instead, we‘re subjected to Trump’s ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn’t look like him.
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) January 12, 2018

Grammy really should go back to lurking in the woods.
Quote :
How dare you tweet about the anniversary of that disaster after you stole so much money from the proud Haitian people? What you and your sicko husband did to that country should be criminal! You are truly a vile individual!! You STOLE from that country!!
— J. Mannarino (@MannarinoJoey) January 12, 2018

Hillary certainly has a lot of nerve …
Quote :
You are truly a sick and ignorant woman! Do you not see the irony of this tweet? What you did to Haiti will NEVER be forgiven!! You will pay, if not now, in your afterlife.
