| The Tower of Babel Syndrome Abounds By Gene Lawley In prior articles I have coined the title, “Tower of Babel Syndrome,” to identify those with the mindset that says, in effect, “We don’t need God and we don’t want God in our lives,” as it was expressed in that ancient endeavor on the plains of Shinar (Genesis 11)—they were going to build a tower that would reach into the heavens. They were all of one language, and God apparently saw something amiss in their thinking, for He declared, in so many words, If they get away with this, there’s no telling what they will do next. So He came down and scrambled their language and they were scattered around the earth. (Does this suggest a possible danger in a straight popular vote?)In this article I want to discuss trends and attitudes that indicate that this “syndrome” is very much alive today and will soon rise up out of the sea of nations in the form of a beast having seven heads.Evidences of a Contrary Mindset To a layman like me, it is strange how those Supreme Court justices can split on a decision so easily, and be so ideologically grouped as some results are. It could make one wonder if the driving motivation that determined their individual final vote was not what the Constitution actually says, but what they want it to say, according to their personal, underlying philosophy. One of the most destructive developments for the disintegration of the Constitution has been the subtle evolution in our justice system of referencing case law history instead of the Constitution itself for determinations of pending legal considerations. There are companies whose sole business is researching and publishing case law history on various angles of prior judicial settlements. In that practice one can see how the pressures of social attitudes that have been developing due to mankind’s moral degradation would influence the mindset of a justice who also is subject to that same moral degradation. That moral degradation is exemplified, even now, in the results seen when a society turns away from the God of truth, rejecting His input into the life of a society, moral degradation is displayed with increasing fervor. So it is that the simple statement of a principle in the Constitution gets watered down over the decades to say what the popular vote would conclude. For an example, I would submit that a rejection of God’s order in creation is that a man would have a woman as a wife, for God saw that the man He had created had no helpmate, and He then created woman from the rib of the man. Then, not surprisingly, God told the two this:“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:28).The question, then, is this: “Would God command an impossible task?” Well, that impossibilitywas accomplished, but only once, and the offspring of that impossibility made possible wasnamed Jesus, who was so named “for He will save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21).That pertinent section of the Constitution, the First Amendment:Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The current case, decided in favor of Hobby Lobby, held that the new healthcare law could not force the privately owned company to provide its employees abortion-causing drugs as part of its healthcare plan. The minority opposition maintained that the first amendment did not extend to a corporate entity, but only to individuals. Yet, we could shake our heads in dismay at the boxing in of the meaning of that statement in the amendment, “Congress shall make no law…prohibiting the free exercise [of religion].”It is troubling that four of the nine justices voted against the individual’s right of exercise in regard to his own property. In every other circumstance, the owner of a corporation is held responsible for the actions of his corporation. In a regular partnership entity, each partner is held responsible for the debts of the entity. How many times have you heard of the directors of a corporation being sued for an alleged infraction of the corporation? It seems there is an underlying thread of philosophical theory that is guiding those negative votes, perhaps even without their own realization. The fact is that government-provided healthcare is considered the number one item on the list of necessities for the overthrow of a democratic republic form of government in favor of one that is a socialized bureaucracy. That is, basically communistic and in keeping with the dictates of Saul Alinsky, who wrote the book, Rules for Radicals. And when you think about that first item on the list in relation to the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, as it has been nicknamed, then consider the second item on that Alinsky list, which is “Poverty.” The rule, then, is to keep the people poor and dependent, then take away their access to guns (that’s his fourth item listed). Here is the full list: Healthcare – Poverty – Debt – Gun Control – Welfare – Education – Religion – Class Warfare. Do you see any particular patterns developing in governmental activities in those areas? Now you don’t have to wonder why any longer! It was shocking that Chief Justice John Roberts, allegedly a conservative, single-handedly turned the Obamacare law into an approved statute by declaring its penalty provisions were actually taxes. Apparently though, what he did not realize is that by doing so, he caused it to become unconstitutional on two fronts: First, he enacted law by declaring the penalty a tax, which changed the actual question before the Court, for the high court’s mission is to interpret the law as written, not modify it to fit a pre-conceived result. And second, he caused the law to be unconstitutional on the basis that a tax bill cannot originate in the Senate, as the healthcare bill did. That issue has not been openly discussed in news reports that I have heard, but is hovering in the shadows with gathering momentum by certain experts in constitutional law.[1] Why is it that common folks across the nation can relate events and activities with other like items of news, like adding two plus two and understand the direction of those things, while our elected and appointed officials seem to be as blind as bats about what is going on? I submit that the concern that President Woodrow Wilson spoke of over a century ago is an underlying factor for those not a part of that subtle threat, and others are complicit with it—especially those on the left side of the spectrum. Here is what President Wilson wrote in 1913:Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere, so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” (Woodrow Wilson – “The New Freedom” – 1913)And we have a president, now, who proclaimed in his campaigning that his administration would be the most transparent of all administrations that have been before his. Then he immediately locked up his past history, spending over a million dollars to insure that the true facts of his rise to power would not be discovered. Are the courts complicit with him and his backers in this?Just follow the patterns in those district court cases where the authenticity of his birth certificate, as revealed, has been questioned. I am wondering if Barack Obama’s studies in constitutional law were not for the purpose people assume, but in reality, for the intent of discovering how to subvert the Constitution. One could easily come to that conclusion by observing his actions in that regard since becoming president, twice! Volumes could be revealed on this subject and related topics with justifiable accuracy were there true transparency in all branches of our government. But evil thrives in deception. The Slumbering Beast Is Waking Up The Beast of Revelation 13 that was envisioned by the apostle John had seven heads, which were identified in Daniel’s forward look in prophetic terms as successive kingdoms of world power (Daniel 7). In his timeframe, Daniel was living in the days of that first of the four heads of the beast that he saw, and he was shown that three more ruling kingdoms were to follow, in the course of history.John’s vision looked backward to see seven heads, although the seventh is described later as “the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.” When he looked back, though, he saw six heads, two that were prior to Daniel’s time. All told, the ruling kingdoms were Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (of John’s era), then that coming seventh head, the revived Roman Empire. Revelation 17 tells us there will be an eighth head that is the actual one-man rule of the Antichrist, who is destined to the lake of fire, along with his False Prophet (Revelation 19:20).Revelation 17:10-14 show the formation of the seventh head of the beast, having ten kings, then the progressive elimination of this collection of entities that are fronting the actual motives of this antichrist who is often identified as the Beast. Finally, when he throws off all opposition, and declares himself God in the Jewish temple, he is personified as the eighth head of the Beast, the one that comes up out of the bottomless pit:“There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”Revelation 13:2 reveals that all these kingdoms over the centuries have been, themselves, ruled by Satan, himself, who gave it his power and authority. The first head was the Assyrian kingdom, where that Tower of Babel Syndrome first developed. They were for setting up a one world order then, too, and God said then, “Not so fast!”By this we can see how that so-admired and longed-for New World Order and One World Government and their proponents of the Tower of Babel Syndrome will end up. So take heart, true believer, for He who is our Blessed Hope will be the ultimate Victor!http://www.raptureready.com/soap2/lawley52.html
