I believe that God wisely set a veil between Himself and man at the fall. We've been chipping away at it ever since. Think antediluvian tech, after the flood Nimrod's tower, and now CERN, transhumanism, et. etc. etc. I believe that if we were to ever break through that veil our finite minds couldn't handle it. We'd all just go POOF! But in our godless pride we'll forge ahead, man all torpedoes, and it'll be full speed ahead. Like the picture below of this man taunting the bull our arrogance will come back to bite us on the @$$ someday.
