Two months ago, I warned everyone that police in Arizona were using ALPRs to “grid” entire neighborhoods. But this story brings public surveillance to a whole new level. Last month, Rekor Systems announced that they had launched the Rekor Public Safety Network (RPSN) which gives law enforcement real-time access to license plates.

Any state or local law enforcement agency participating in the RPSN will be able to access real-time data from any part of the network at no cost. The Company is initially launching the network by aggregating vehicle data from customers in over 30 states. RPSN’s AI software uses machine learning to predict when and where a hotlisted person or a person of interest will be.

The Westchester County New York Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center alone, collects more than 25 million license plates each month.” An article in Traffic Technology Today revealed that Rekor will go to great lengths to convince police departments to track millions of motorists.

Rekor’s 2019 NDAA sales pitch is both disturbing and despicable. It reveals just where they and law enforcement stand when it comes to using ALPRs to spy on millions of motorists.
Police use license plate readers to track motorists in real-time
An article in The Newspaper revealed how police in Louisiana use license plate readers to track motorists in real-time. Eric J. Richard had been driving his white Buick LaCrosse on Interstate 10, when he was stopped by Louisiana State Police Trooper Luke Leger for allegedly following a truck too closely. During the roadside interrogation, the trooper asked where Richard was coming from. “I was coming from my job right there in Vinton,” Richard replied. The trooper had already looked up the travel records for Richard’s car and already knew it had crossed into Louisiana from Texas earlier in the day. Based on this “apparent lie,” the trooper extended the traffic stop by asking more questions and calling in a drug dog. The article goes on to say that police had no reason to track Mr. Richard, but they did so because they could. And that should frighten everyone. Rekor lets law enforcement know where your friends and family are, where your doctor’s office is, where you worship and where you buy groceries. How is that for Orwellian? It is time to face the facts: ALPRs are not about public safety, they are a massive surveillance system designed to let Big Brother track our every movement.

The subhead reads: “Following another catastrophic mass shooting or crisis event, Orwellian ‘solutions’ are set to be foisted on a frightened American public by the very network connected, not only to Jeffrey Epstein, but to a litany of crimes and a frightening history of plans to crush internal dissent in the United States.” Webb mentions convicted felon Oliver North:

The “highly sensitive and classified” plan to identify and target political activists is not a new or innovative concept. It began in earnest with the FBI’s cross-referenced “ADEX” list in the 1960s. The FBI, then known as the General Intelligence Division (GID), began indexing names shortly after the First World War. The “reserve Index” of this voluminous list (more than 10 million people were indexed by 1939) set aside people who would be “arrested and held” in case of a national emergency. The system was tweaked with the “Custodial Detention List” (also known as the “Alien Enemy Control” list) used to round-up Japanese-Americans during the Second World War. Since that time, the government has combined its numerous lists of potential detainees and whittled it down slightly to eight million people. The revised list is codenamed Main Core. The government has added names to this list since the 1980s when North was plotting his Continuity of Government plan to suspend the Constitution. Michael Snyder writes:

Whitney Webb has done an exemplary job of connecting the dots on the Epstein case. She painstakingly links the efforts of US and Israeli intelligence to track and target political activists (in the case of Israel, Palestinians). Israel, like the CIA, has spent a lot of time and money underwriting tech startups. The objective is to create a surveillance system focused on “pre-crime,” that is to say using social media, the internet, email, cellphone tracking, and other data to form a profile of potential enemies of the state and their political behavior—for instance, organizing a boycott of Israel or revealing the manifest crimes of the United States government. Israeli and US tech companies, Webb writes, are “marketing themselves as ‘technological’ solutions to mass shootings while also doubling as covert tools for mass data collection and extraction, the end result is a massive surveillance system so complete and so dystopian that even George Orwell himself could not have predicted it.”

The United States government has demanded that Apple and Google (who are both politically biased towards the left) hand over any information they have on gun owners in the USSA. The U.S. Government is asking Apple and Google to hand over information on gun owners who have a scope on their rifles and use an app called Obsidian 4. The Obsidian 4 app “allows gun owners to get a live stream, take video and calibrate their gun scope from an Android or iPhone device,” according to the report. Forbes reported that the Department of Justice filed “an application for a court order” on September 5, 2019, the goal of which is to have information released on Obsidian 4 users. This would essentially impact about, 10,000 gun owners across the USSA.

Omanovic warned that the type of orders sought by the DOJ “need to be based on suspicion and be particularized,” but the attempt to gather information from Apple and Google is not. This is a major invasion of privacy and a massive human rights violation. The U.S. government no longer has limits to the extent they will go to in order to keep people under its control. The country is not far from complete totalitarianism at this point. Trump Looks At “Social Credit Score” For Gun Owners? As SHTFPlan previously detailed, the Trump administration was “considering a proposal that would use Google, Amazon, and Apple to collect data on users who exhibit characteristics of mental illness that could lead to violent behavior.” Such information would then reportedly be used in decisions on who should and should not be allowed to buy/possess firearms. According to Breitbart, The Daily Caller cited a Washington Post report that showed the data collection would fall under the auspices of “a new agency called the Health Advanced Research Projects Agency or HARPA.” Make no mistake: the government is coming for your guns.
