I don't mind asking for other people to pray for someone else, but I do kinda'hate to ask for it for me...Things have gotten serious with the blood pressure issues.....We have debated a trip to the E-room a couple of times, but there has been a death in the family and I had rather wait until all is finished with that.....I did get an appointment for first thing monday morning, so I really need to make it until then without having a stroke....We THINK we have found the culprit causing this....right now, we got it down with aspirin,pain pills and muscle relaxers.....I went from readings of 110-120 over 70-80 to readings of 160-180 over 90-110 in a dramatically short period of time....i can still walk or mow the grass with a push mower and not even be out of breath or have chest pains or anything like that, and the BP will actually DECREASE with exercise.....we think it is being caused by the pills that i take for neuropathy...

I will get my new glasses next week.....hopefully, they will come in monday so i can go back to the masoretic text investigation( us rednecks know big words,too)....these things are out of focus that everything is kinda' wopsided, but there is only so much that one can do with duct tape.....yep, my wife put them back together with duct tape...

please pray for me to not have a stroke before i can get to the doctor.....i am not over-reacting.....i had a heart attack when i was 43 years old and have CAD, so it really is kind of a big deal....thank you very much....elvis has left the building but, Lord willing, he'll be back as soon as he can see.......

I can relate! For close to 11 years I was taking neurontin (gabapentin) for nephropathy. Now I'm a pretty sharp and smart guy but I was having a bunch of troubles over those years with head fog, mental fog, slowness, etc. It came to a head about two years ago when the dose was increased. I could hardly function, I could hardly think, I had trouble stringing two coherent sentences together. I was terrified that I was going all out Alzheimer's or something. It was that bad.

I had a huge "ah-ha" moment . . . . increased dose = increased mental fog . . . . what if ?????

Long story short, I slowly tapered off the dose to zero over a period of months (without doctors knowledge or blessing) and lo-and-behold I got my brain function back. Two years on I still function well.

I have the before and after neuropsych tests to PROVE IT too! Had two done while taking the drug, and another one about 6 months after purging it from my system. The test result improvement was remarkable! I could take Einstein on in a debate!

Just my two cents worth  . . . if you are taking neurontin (gabapentin) or anything else for nephropathy and you're having trouble - any kind of trouble -  have a serious talk with your doctor.

I still have nephropathy pain and all the crap that comes with it, but I live with it all to have a clear head.

First off i'd like to say, "i am not an expert", far from it. But i had heard somewhere that it's not so much the aspirin that is helpful (probably for thinning blood) but the buffering agent magnesium. You may want to look into magnesium and see what you think about its health benefits, and/or ask your doctor.

gabapentin it is!!!....i have only been taking it for 6 months, and i have been feeling different(slowly feeling bad) for around 6 months,more or less......lol, somebody prayed because the BP was 117/73 a few minutes ago....this morning it was 186/110 and i was staggering around and had a headache.....i did take one of my wifes BP pills, too.......apparently, gabapentin is an anti-seizure drug and also used to treat damn psychotic episodes....wow....it helped the neuropathy, but i'll use a walker before i'll take any more

I prayed for you around 11:00 AM PST Michael. I'd like to think Yeshua heard me. I'm sure others were praying as well. As to the gabapentin I hope that is the problem and removal the solution. Yup, it's main claim to fame is as an anti-psychotic and that tells me that it works directly on the brain and nervous system.

researcher, it was the gabapentin...my bp was 119/79 this morning after i got up,and it was only 129/88 after two BIG cups of coffee...... after 4 days without it, i am starting to feel better....down side though, my neuropathy is becoming more evident and i have not slept well at all the last two nights....this stuff is some bad stuff....it works, but at what price?

Great to hear! The gabapentin raised my blood pressure some too but my numbers were nothing like your numbers. Bet your doctor will get an ear full Monday. I also took opiates (morphine & percocet) for years for pain and that helped some though I cut those off a few years ago too. Bad ju-ju is there too because of the addiction possibility factor. I'd rather deal with the pain which has diminished some on its own over the years, thank you Lord.

thanks guys for the prayers...see how God heard you?....it was no accident that it dawned on me that i started going downhill at about the same time that i started this devil-drug....there are no coincidences with God, no abstracts, only absolutes,except maybe for the case of hezekiahs 15 extra years,and i ain't convinced that wasn't an absolute and non-conditional event....researcher, i have not taken any for 4 days,today will be 5, and i feel completely different....mind seems clearer,cleaner with no fog....i have not forgotten a single thing today and my VISION is better and the distortion is almost gone,even with these duct-taped,wopsided glasses....researcher, this s**t was making me feel depressed,too....it wasn't noticeable until this morning....the postmaster even noticed it, and here is another incidence of proof that nothing is accidental or coincidental.....her sister had to go to the E-room yesterday morning with an incredible spike in blood pressure.....the postmaster told me that she has had BP problems for years....i asked her what medicines that her sister took and she answered that she took a bunch of medicine, so i asked what was wrong with her and she told me that she had been diagnosed with FIBROMYALGIA!!!!....well, guess what is the primary drug used to treat that?....you got it!!! the devil drug....gabapentin (neurotin), along with lyrica.....i continue to go back to WWII and the nazi industrial complex,operation paperclip, and the global elite,along with the devil church and the jesuit bastards,dr. mengele,etc....THE MAJORITY, and by that i mean ALMOST ALL of big pharma companies were part of that german industrial complex and a large percentage of our "medical" accomplishments are attributed to those gruesome experiments conducted by mengele.....check it out....researcher knows, and he admitted that he knew but was kinda' afraid to bring it up on the forum, some of those nazis just might have had another little dark secret....just remember, drug companies do not develop drugs to make us well, they develop drugs to make money

Bingo, ding ding ding! I saw a pain specialist about 14+ years ago and had that same diagnosis added to me too. Had the exam and I had almost all the trigger points! (not to be confused with social justice warrior liberal trigger points) Anyway, that was when the opiates and the gabapentin was started. Way back around 2004 - 2005-ish. It all helped a lot . . . . sort-of . . . . if you liked living with a skull full of mush that is.

Very glad you are feeling better!! I hope Gabapentin is all that was going on, and it sounds like it was. I never would have thought about it...I took it for a few months, but stopped because I felt no effects from it, good or bad. Sad to hear y'all had problems with it.
