Fact Checker Did the Clinton Foundation raise ‘hundreds of millions of dollars’ for a hospital in Haiti that was never built?

“Hillary Clinton … took in hundreds of millions of dollars for a hospital in Haiti that went to the Clinton Foundation, that was never built — that was years ago. Where is that money?” — Donald Trump surrogate Michael Cohen, interview on CNN, June 1 Michael Cohen, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization and special counsel to Donald Trump, made this accusation while answering questions about Trump’s donations to veterans’ groups. He blamed the news media for asking questions about Trump’s donations, yet letting Hillary Clinton’s allegedly squandered hospital promise go unquestioned. Although Cohen made the comment in passing, it was picked up by Diamond and Silk, a pro-Trump duo with a Twitter following of more than 80,600. Where's D $$https://t.co/q5NRihVLDK — Diamond and Silk® (@DiamondandSilk) June 3, 2016 We reached out to Cohen directly and through the Trump Organization and Trump campaign several times, but he didn’t respond to our request for a source for his claim. So we dug around to see if there were any facts to support it. What we found had all the makings of a mishmash talking point stringing together different information relating to Haiti recovery efforts — such as a message from the last player in a game of “Telephone.” The Facts The Clintons played a major role in recovery efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Former president Bill Clinton was the public face of U.S. efforts in Haiti through several recovery roles. He was the United Nations special envoy to Haiti, co-leader of the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund (with former president George W. Bush) and co-chairman of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission, a quasi-government planning body that approved hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. government-funded recovery projects. The U.S. Agency for International Development supported the commission’s efforts, and Hillary Clinton led the U.S. response in Haiti as secretary of state. The Clinton Foundation raised more than $30 million for Haiti relief projects. The Clinton family’s charitable work in Haiti has been a mix of success, disappointment and controversy. As our Washington Post colleagues reported, some Clinton-backed projects didn’t come through, such as a $2 million housing expo for thousands of new housing units. The Government Accountability Office found poor planning and unsustainable outcomes for taxpayer-funded projects through USAID, such as a $170 million power plant and port for the Caracol Industrial Park, which the Clinton Foundation promoted. Hillary Clinton’s younger brother had connections to a mining project in Haiti, raising suspicions among Haitians about the Clintons’ motives. Luxury hotel projects paid by the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund promised construction jobs — but for Haitians, it represented another disconnect between Clinton-backed efforts and the realities of one of the poorest countries struggling to rebuild after one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the Western Hemisphere. There’s real frustration among Haitians over failures in progress promised to them, not just by the Clintons but from the international community at large. In 2015, Haitian activists protested outside the Clinton Foundation in New York, claiming the Clintons mismanaged hundreds of millions in taxpayer money through the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission. But there is no evidence that Hillary Clinton, through the Clinton Foundation, raised “hundreds of millions of dollars” for a hospital that was never built. We consulted groups that have been critical of recovery delays in Haiti, but they could not point to a specific Clinton Foundation-funded hospital project, either. “We’ve tried to figure out what he might be citing as well, but we can’t provide you with a source of his claim because one doesn’t exist,” said Craig Minassian, a Clinton Foundation spokesman. “The Clinton Foundation never committed to build a hospital, nor did it accept, raise, or spend funds for that purpose. His claim is false.” At a joint news conference held with Haiti's then-President-elect Michel Martelly on April 20, 2011, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke about the progress the country had made towards recovery with help from the U.S. and how much was left to do. (C-SPAN) There are hospital projects that have been delayed, but there’s no evidence that there were “hundreds of millions of dollars” in foundation money promised to those efforts. For example, the USAID inspector general found delays in the $99 million reconstruction of medical facilities and medical supply warehouses through the Health Infrastructure Program. This program included the $82.3 million construction of the country’s key public hospital, the Hospital of the State University of Haiti in Port-au-Prince, one of the first projects that the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission approved. But the project is backed by money from the U.S. government, Haiti and France — not the Clinton Foundation. Another major hospital project was the University Hospital in Mirebalais, run by Partners in Health, a group that has worked on recovery efforts with the Clinton Foundation. This hospital opened in 2013, and Partners in Health confirmed that no donation of “hundreds of millions of dollars” was committed by the Clinton Foundation for the project. (The Clinton Foundation is not listed as a supporter.) The Clinton Foundation helped provide solar panels at Hospital Bernard Mevs in Port-au-Prince, a trauma center. But Minassian said the foundation did not commit hundreds of millions of dollars for construction of a new facility. Perhaps Cohen was referring to the $500 million in “commitments to action” that the Clinton Foundation announced would be used for projects in Haiti. The commitments were secured from private businesses through the Clinton Global Initiative. The commitments are public pledges that companies made at a Clinton Global Initiative conference, promising to do good in the world. The Clinton Global Initiative tracks progress of the commitments but is not responsible for their implementation. The Pinocchio Test There’s a lot of criticism lodged against the Clintons for their involvement with recovery efforts in Haiti. But Cohen’s claim that Hillary Clinton raised hundreds of millions of dollars through the Clinton Foundation for a hospital that was never delivered is not credible. There is, indeed, a major public hospital in Port-au-Prince that has been delayed, even though it was one of the first projects approved by the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission. The commission was co-chaired by Bill Clinton, who became the face of many recovery efforts in Haiti. Cohen can blame Bill Clinton’s leadership on the commission, or the managing of taxpayer money for this project. But that claim is entirely different from the one Cohen made. Perhaps Cohen was referring to the $500 million in “commitments to action” for Haiti initiatives announced by the Clinton Foundation. But not all of the commitments were relating to health care or building a hospital, and the commitments don’t involve Clinton Foundation money. We’ve done our part to check out his claim, but the burden of proof still lies with Cohen. If he wants to respond and point us to a specific source, we’re eager to take a look. Roosevelt was never said by him, all across the internet a connection was made yesterday between the forthcoming release of the FISA memo and Wednesday's Virginia train crash as Republicans and their families made their way to a retreat in West Virginia.
And while the retreat had long been planned and a yearly occurrence and not 'Republicans suddenly escaping to the underground bunker' that just happens to be at the Greenbrier Resort as some people thought might be happening, as we hear in the final video below titled "How Hillary Crashes Cars And Planes", it's well within the 'deep states' power to suddenly stall a garbage truck on train tracks in Virginia or any place else for that matter.
In fact as we learn in that video, Hillary Clinton and the 'Rose Law Firm' in Arkansas are directly tied to the patent and company that create the QRS-11, the 'backdoor' in every moving vehicle that allows 'stealth assassinations' to be ruled as 'accidents'.
While the mainstream media truth-distorting apparatus quickly lashed out at all of the 'conspiracy theories' that were going viral across the internet about the crash and the possibility that we were witnessing a 'deep state hit' upon Republican members of Congress even making its way into Facebook's trending news section, even the Washington Post reported back on March 8th of 2017 that the CIA had the ability to hack into and crash cars with this stunning line within the first paragraph of their story: the agency has looked into hacking cars, which WikiLeaks asserts could be used to carry out “nearly undetectable assassinations.”
And while that would be old news to people who followed what happened back in 2013 to journalist Michael Hastings, the number of people who have met their untimely ends in mysterious crashes and who somehow had ties to Hillary Clinton is absolutely astounding as seen in the stupefying graphic at the bottom of this story.
As Jerome Corsi reported on WND back on August 29th of 2013, Hastings was preparing to publish a major investigative piece tied to the undercover agent who is suspected of sanitizing President Obama’s passport records prior to the 2008 presidential election. And while most of the life of Barack Obama remains hidden nearly 8 years later, something has so spooked the majority of the Democratic Party and the 'deep state' that 'creating an incident' might be the only way to take the attention off of the tidal wave that is coming.
With AOL, Vanity Fair, Vice, Salon, Media Matters, Vox, the Daily Beast and Snopes all putting out stories yesterday attempting to debunk these 'conspiracy theories' showing the kind of 'co-ordinated response' we've long seen coming from the left, we're not the least bit surprised that 'gatekeeper' Google joined them by highly promoting their attempts to debunk.
As AOL reports, according to 'conspiracy theorist' Alex Jones, the train/garbage truck crash that happened in Virginia was taken straight from the pages of a CIA hit by placing an already dead body inside of the truck and pushing it on to the tracks as we read in this Infowars story and hear in the 1st video below. As Jones asks us, what are the odds that such a crash would happen the day after President Trump's State of the Union address and soon before the forthcoming 'release of the menu'? Jones also claims this 'crash' was an attempt at a 'stealth hit' in an ongoing civil war.
The fact that even globalist gatekeeper and one-time Facebook 'arbiter of truth' Snopes got involved attempting to debunk these 'conspiracy theories' and reported that "no evidence validates claims of foul play in a train crash involving Republican members of Congress", without even doing any real investigation into the the ability of the deep state to crash planes, trains and automobiles, tells us this really may have been some kind of 'deep state hit' with a cover-up ongoing.
According to WND writer Corsi, we were just warned that such events might happen as the 'deep state' goes into full panic mode with potential false flag attacks ahead as seen in the two screenshots of recent Corsi tweets both above and below.
And while ANP is not in the position at this moment to prove that Wednesday's train crash was caused by the deep state, as we reported Wednesday prior to the crash, all eyes and ears should be wide open and Americans totally prepared for the kind of event that might be brought on by a corrupt power structure exposed before America's eyes with the release of the memo.
If US Congressman Scott Perry is correct and this memo details a 'KGB-type' power structure in America that is about to be exposed, we expect that they will continue to do everything within their power to make sure it never gets out.

“Tip of The Iceberg” – The Pending Intelligence Memo is The Beginning, Not The End…

With that release in mind, today it is worthwhile remembering this is the beginning of exposing the corruption within the DOJ not the end. For several years the U.S. justice department has maintained an attitude of non-accountability within its ranks. The Obama years elevated that attitude and provided multiple examples of a DOJ gone rogue. A complicit media enables that attitude by engineering a false narrative the U.S. Justice Department was/is an independent fourth branch of government; unaccountable to congress and entirely separate from the executive branch. The House Intelligence Memo is simply using the example of currently known FISA abuse to open the door and show the U.S. electorate how corrupt this unaccountable institution has become. Behind that door are very uncomfortable realities for all of those who constructed the weaponized agency; and also those who have benefited from it. Consider:
♦When IRS head Lois Learner unlawfully sent the 21 CD-ROM’s containing the “Schedule B” filings of over a million Americans to the Obama administration, the recipient was the DOJ. (LINK) It was the DOJ who was chosen to utilize the political lists in their “Secret Research Project“. ♦When U.S. District Court Judge Andrew Hanen demanded DOJ lawyers attend ethics classes due to their false representations to his court – he was highlighting a corrupt DOJ. (LINK) ♦When the case against the Bundy family was recently thrown out of court, it was the “gross malicious conduct” of the DOJ highlighted by the judge. (LINK) This is the same DOJ who denied their own Office of Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, the right to conduct oversight on DOJ internal action. The U.S. Justice Department has become a rogue agency weaponized against it’s political opposition in almost every jurisdiction. This is the pervasive attitude, an air of ideological unaccountability, found rampant within every corrupt system. So it doesn’t come as a surprise when the epicenter of that attitude in Washington DC balks at the concept of having oversight, and thumbs their nose at congress by refusing to turn over the underlying FISA application documents. The House Intelligence Committee, Chairman Devin Nunes, has oversight over the entire intelligence apparatus, including DOJ/FBI counterintelligence and the FISA Courts. The House Judiciary Committee, Chairman Bob Goodlatte, has statutory oversight over the entire Department of Justice. The Senate Judiciary Committee, Chairman Chuck Grassley, has oversight over the federal court processes used by the U.S. Department of Justice. The Office of Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, is the internal DOJ watchdog. Unfortunately the corruption appears systemic within the entire justice system. This is the problem currently being confronted. This is also a system being defended by a political media apparatus who have benefited from seeing their opposition targeted. The American people became the threat to their system. The American people became their enemy. This outlook sounds stark, but this is exactly the way the DOJ has behaved. The release of the House Intelligence Memo is only the tip of the iceberg; the crack in the door to see just how corrupt the unaccountable Justice System became. There are going to be many more revelations as the investigations into the FBI and DOJ continue. Combine that understanding with the pending OIG Horowitz report, and we have only just begun to see how bad this is… The key aspect to begin restoring a system when it has fallen into the clutches of corruption, is to remove their internal image of unaccountability. The DOJ and FBI are part of the Executive Branch and they are accountable to congressional oversight. We need to constantly remind people of that, and push back against this insufferable media-generated narrative of the DOJ being an independent fourth branch of government.

The Hal Turner Radio Show has confirmed that as of 11:30 AM eastern US time, the White House had dispatched a Secure Courier to the Capital Building, to deliver the FISA-Abuse Memo and Presidential approval to Declassify it, to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence for their release to the public later today. The memo has now returned to the Capital. The nation awaits its public release.

The document was also sent to House Speaker Paul Ryan's office, Shah said. The White House requested no redactions, Shah said. He said he believed the purported bias was a "disgrace" and said certain people should be "ashamed of themselves." The memo, spearheaded by House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, alleges that the FBI used the opposition research dossier on Trump and Russia written by ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele to secure a FISA surveillance warrant on former Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page without disclosing that the dossier was funded in part by Democratic sources. In a statement earlier this week, Nunes said, "It's clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign."

The House Intelligence Committee has released its controversial memo outlining alleged abuses of secret surveillance by the FBI and Justice Department in the Trump-Russia investigation. Here are some key points: * The Steele dossier formed an essential part of the initial and all three renewal FISA applications against Carter Page.
* Andrew McCabe confirmed that no FISA warrant would have been sought from the FISA Court without the Steele dossier information. * The political origins of the Steele dossier were known to senior DOJ and FBI officials, but excluded from the FISA applications. * DOJ official Bruce Ohr met with Steele beginning in the summer of 2016 and relayed to DOJ information about Steele's bias. Steele told Ohr that he, Steele, was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected president and was passionate about him not becoming president. The FBI and Justice Department mounted a monthslong effort to keep the information outlined in the memo out of the House Intelligence Committee's hands. Only the threat of contempt charges and other forms of pressure forced the FBI and Justice to give up the material. Our findings, which are detailed below, 1) raise concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FLSC), and 2) represent a troubling breakdown of legal processes established to protect the American people from abuses related to the FISA process. Investigation Update On October 21, 2016, DOJ and FBI sought and received a FISA probable cause order Casa under Title VII) authorizing electronic surveillance on Carter Page from the FISC. Page is a U.S. citizen who served as a volunteer advisor to the Trump presidential campaign. As required by statute (50 U.S.C. §1805(dX1)), a FISA order on an American citizen must be renewed by the FISC every 90 days and each renewal requires a separate folding of probable cause. Then-Director James Comey signed three FISA applications in question on behalf of the FBI, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one. Then-DAG Sally Yates, then-Acting DAG Dana Boente, and DAG Rod Rosenstein each signed one or more FISA applications on behalf of DOJ. Due to the sensitive nature of foreign intelligence activity, FISA submissions (including renewals) before the FISC are classified. As such, the public's confidence in the integrity of the FISA process depends on the court's ability to hold the government to the highest standard—particularly as it relates to surveillance of American citizens. However, the FISC's rigor in protecting the rights of Americans, which is remtorced by 90-day renewals of surveillance orders, is necessarily dependent on the govenunent's production to the court of all material and relevant facts. This should include information potentially favorable to the target of the FISA application that is known by the government. In the case of Carter Page, the government had at least four independent opportunities before the FISC to accurately provide an accounting of the relevant facts. However, our findings indicate that, as described below, material and relevant information was omitted.
1) The "dossier" compiled by Christopher Steele (Steele dossier) on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign formed an essential part of the Carter Page FISA application. Steele was a longtime FBI source who was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign, via the law firm Perkins Coie and research firm Fusion GPS, to obtain derogatory information on Donald Trump's ties to Russia.
a) Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele's efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior DOJ and FBI officials.
b) The initial FISA application notes Steele was working for a named U.S. person, but does not name Fusion GPS and principal Glenn Simpson, who was paid by a U.S. law final (Perkins Coie) representing the DNC (even though it was known by DOS at the time that political actors were involved with the Steele dossier). The application does not mention Steele was ultimately working on behalf of—and paid by--the DNC and Clinton campaign, or that the FBI had separately authorized payment to Steele for the same information.
2) The Carter Page FISA application also cited extensively a September 23, 2016, Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff, which focuses on Page's July 2016 trip to Moscow. This article does not corroborate the Steele dossier because it is derived from information leaked by Steele himself to Yahoo News. The Page FISA application incorrectly assesses that Steele did not directly provide information to Yahoo News. Steele has admitted in British court filings that he met with Yahoo News--and several other outlets—in September 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS. Perkins Cole was aware of Steele's initial media contacts because they hosted at least one meeting in Washington D.C. in 2016 with Steele and Fusion GPS where this matter was discussed.
a) Steele was suspended and then terminated as an FBI source for what the FBI defines as the most serious of violations--an unauthorized disclosure to the media of his relationship with the FBI in an October 30, 2016, Mother Jones article by David Corn. Steele should have been terminated for his previous undisclosed contacts with Yahoo and other outlets in September—before the Page application was submitted to UNCLASSIFIED
the FISC in October—but Steele improperly concealed from and lied to the FBI about those contacts. b) Steele's numerous encounters with the media violated the cardinal rule of source handling—maintaining confidentiality—and denaonstrated that Steele had become a less than reliable source for the FBI. 3) Before and after Steele was terminated as a source, he maintained contact with DOJ via then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, a senior DOJ official who worked closely with Deputy Attorneys General Yates and later Rosenstein. Shortly after the election, the FBI began interviewing Ohr, documenting bis communications with Steele. For example, hi September 2016, Steele admitted to Oho his feelings against then-candidate Trump when Steele said he "was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about !Ana not being president." This clear evidence of Steele's bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files—but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications.
a) During this same titne period, Ohr's wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump. Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife's opposition research, paid for by the ANC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs' relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the FISC. 4) According to the head of the FBI's counterintelligence division, Assistant Director Bill Priestap, corroboration of the Steele dossier was in its "infancy" at the time of the initial Page FISA application. After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent Imit within FBI assessed Steele's reporting as only minimally corroborated. Yet, in early January 2017, Director Comey briefed President-elect Trump on a summary of the Steele dossier, even though it was--according to his June 2017 testimony—"salacious and unverified." While hie FISA application relied on Steele's past record of credible reporting on other unrelated matters, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations. Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in Deceroper 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information. UNClAkSSIFIED
5) The Page FISA application also mentions information regarding fellow Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos, but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Pete Strzok. Strzok was reassigned by the Special Counsel's Office to FBI Human Resources for improper text messages with his mistress, FBI Attorney Lisa Page (no known relation to Carter Page), where they both demonstrated a clear bias against Trump and in favor of Clinton, whom Strzok had also investigated. The Strzok/Lisa Page texts also reflect extensive discussions about the investigation, orchestrating leaks to the media, and include a meeting with Deputy Director McCabe to discuss an "insurance" policy against President Trump's election.

Sometimes in the business of reporting, we receive information that appears to be both important and true. However, the information may lack the ability to totally confirm the claims. Therefore, when this has happened in the past, I take the issue to the general public as well as to my trusted sources with expertise in these areas. This is one of these times as I am placing shocking claims, that I can partially verify, in front of trusted private sources as well as the general public in an effort to shake the trees to see what falls out. Followers of The Common Sense Show know that the subject of chemtrails is not something that I ordinarily cover in my various forms of media outlets. However, over the past 6 months, I have been receiving communications whose delivery system is similar to what I have received for sources, related to government agencies. In other words, this supposed source, previously unknown to me, knows what they are doing. The originators of the communications have admonished me to not copy and paste thee communications because it could lead to the identifcation of the source. Therefore, the information is presented as a series of paraphrased excerpts. It should be mentioned that I have ignored the communications because I was unable to verfiy very much of what the source was telling me, until recently. The communications were highly intellectual, so I suspected that this was a disinformation ploy and this certainly would not be the first time the “left” attempted to engage in such a strategy with regard to my investigations. Because of the sabotage of the previous article and the fact that I can now partially verify some of the claims, I am presenting the findings here and asking others to look into this as well so we can collectively assess the threat to humanity.

Over the past 10 years, I have interviewed Ty Bollinger several times. Chemtrails were never the major source of our interviews, however, I was aware the Ty had an interest in the topic and my revelations proved fruitful. Here is Bollinger’s definition of a chemtrail:

I am confident in stating that the viability of our total food supply is being imperiled by chemtrails. Further, I am confident that low sperm counts, are at least in part attributed to chemtrails. What I think it true, but I cannot totally confirm is to the degree that chemtrails are bioweapons with a definitive end game. I also cannot confirm the allegation that chemtrails are mood and behavior altering and for what purpose. Therefore, I am appealing to serious researchers to respond to this article with detailed references and research-based conclusions. Sears Holdings, which has been on a highly effective hedge-fund-manager-designed program of cost-cutting itself to death, announced today that it obtained another $100-million loan from JPP, LLC and JPP II, LLC, which are solely owned by said hedge-fund manager and CEO of Sears Holdings, Eddy Lampert. After prior loans by the same entities and by Lampert’s hedge fund ESL were secured by the part of real estate that hadn’t been sold off in sweetheart deals to affiliated parties, the new loan is secured “by certain real property interests” and by “substantially all of the unencumbered intellectual property of the Company and its subsidiaries” except the IP related the Kenmore and DieHard brands. Stripping out while the stripping is still possible. Yesterday, Sears announced another step in cost-cutting itself to death: axing 220 jobs mostly at its corporate office. This was part of its stated goal to trim $1.25 billion from its annual expenses. After closing hundreds of Sears and Kmart stores last year, the company is on track to close 63 more stores in January. This will leave it with 1,041 Sears stores, down from 3,555 in 2010, and with about 500 Kmart stores. But sales are dropping even faster. In Q3 2017, the last quarterly report available, revenues fell to $3.7 billion, down 26% year over year and down 68% from Q3 2007. Sears shares [SHLD] currently trade at $2.41, down 6% for the day, and down from the Lampert-hype induced 52-week peak of $14 on April 19, 2017. Day traders are having fun riding them all the way to zero. A bankruptcy filing will occur after Lampert runs out of assets to strip. Now he’s going after Sears’ IP, meaning he’s scraping the bottom of the barrel. Bon-Ton Stores, which had hired bankruptcy advisors in September, announced some details yesterday on a new wave of store closings in early 2018, involving 42 stores. Bon-Ton has taken on a third-party liquidator to get rid of the merchandise in those stores. Liquidation sales begin today. On December 15, Bon-Ton failed to make a $14-million interest payment and opted to take the 30-day grace period instead. After the grace period expired, Bon-Ton announced on January 16 that it had entered into forbearance agreements with some of its lenders. These lenders agreed not to exercise the remedies available to them to go after the missed payment. That agreement expired on January 26…. A bankruptcy filing is imminent. Bon-Ton shares [BONT] are trading at 16 cents. They’re goners Stein Mart, with about 290 off-price stores in the US whose same-store sales had fallen about 7% in Q3 year-over-year, after having fallen 4.6% in the prior year, announced on Monday that, “given the continuing challenges of the retail environment,” it has formed a special committee to “review our strategic options,” “explore all opportunities,” and “identify potential strategic alternatives.” Since the announcement on Monday, shares have plunged 42% to 65 cents. They too are goners. Nine West Holdings – which focuses on women’s shoes, accessories, jeans, jewelry, and handbags sold at its own stores and at department stores – became subject of intense bankruptcy rumors on January 24, when “people with knowledge of the negotiations” told Bloomberg that the company was negotiating with some of its creditors on a prepackaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing before an interest payment comes due on March 15. It would include restructuring nearly $1.5 billion in debt, sell parts of the retailer, make first-lien lenders whole, hand a majority of the equity of the reorganized company to unsecured term-loan lenders, and hand a small part of the equity to bondholders as a consolation prize. These bonds traded at 11 cents on the dollar. The retailer was acquired by private-equity firm Sycamore Partners as part of its $2.2 billion leveraged buyout of Jones Group in 2014. CONRED said the eruption affected 47 704 people in the departments of Sacatepéquez, Chimaltenango, Escuintla and Suchitepéquez. Pyroclastic flows descended through the Honda, Santa Teresa, Las Lajas and Ceniza ravines with lengths between 700 and 1 500 meters (2 300 - 4 900 feet), INSIVUMEH reported. With everything you’ve seen thus far from the State of the Union address, the Democrat-Progressives, and Left-leaning Republicans are arraying themselves against the President. Never have so many movie stars, oligarchs, and media mouthpieces threatened the President of the United States with bodily harm (veiled, or overtly) without repercussions. Soon the FISA memorandum will be made public. The makings of a true civil war are formulating before our very eyes. What this means is that we have a government that is divided, but the division is not an even split. Most of the politicos (we don’t have representation in the United States Congress anymore) want to see complete control over the people with individual rights removed. They want this. For proof? It was a Republican (Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-VA) who introduced H.R. 4760, with a “harmless and patriotic” title for the public to gobble down with a smile: The Securing America’s Future Act of 2018. Wonder how much they paid “Smilin’ Bob” to introduce that one?A harmless, patriotic act in our national interests, yes? No. Securing the citizenry under the “lock and key” of a National ID Card with biometric data and complete storage of individual records back to the time of birth. The Fourth Amendment of the Constitution: it will be gone with “the stroke of a pen…. the law of the land,” to paraphrase Paul Begala. Left out are the words “kind of neat” he finished the statement with. That is because it is not neat, nor will the whole situation end neatly. The President vowed to drain the swamp, and now he (and any who support his policies) will face an attack by the Deep State: The Military Industrial Complex (MIC), the Oligarchy (yes, of the ilk of the Zuckerberg’s, Soros’s, Gates, and Buffets), the Obama holdovers (too numerous to count) currently in the administration, and Republican 5th columnists masquerading as conservatives but in reality, Marxist-Totalitarians. This “Deep State Army” are joining forces to topple the current administration, return the “paradigm shift” to the left at full speed, and bring the U.S. down…toward a global governance. Joining hands with them are the Democratic party entire, and all the liberal Democrat citizen-puppets, along with an army of clueless idiots who believe they are obliged to abandon conservative values for the sake of “unifying” with the liberals. This bill H.R. 4760 is a “backlash” of the mandatory clause of the Affordable Health Care Law being overturned: the law is now “toothless,” as it is no longer mandatory to have it. This poses a problem for these globalists. Now, here we go on the bandwagon again in another direction…another parade…this time to “Secure America’s Future,” by making sure [that means through force…all authority is enforced and maintained with the barrel of a firearm] everyone…citizen, illegal alien, or “guest” worker/visitor…has a National ID card with biometric data. The State cannot be beaten: Not unless the people either remove the politicians and reform the policies, or (if that isn’t possible) they must revolt. The United States (with this bill 4760) intends to hire more than 25,000 additional border patrol agents. Do you know why? It is to keep the taxpayer-serfs in, not to keep the illegals out. The State has unlimited resources, and the bureaucracy and infrastructure to deploy those resources. The State has federalized the National Guard units, the local and state law enforcement, and militarized all of them with weapons, equipment, APC’s (armored personnel carriers), and millions of rounds of ammunition. The State has multiplied itself into so many federal agencies that it is impossible to keep track of all of them. The State has armed all federal employees to the teeth, even those originally comical “Keystone Cop” organizations, such as the Social Security Administration, the Motor Vehicle Administration, and the Post Office. There is something the Deep State wishes, and yet is terrified of all the same. They desire a war with North Korea. The terrifying part to them? If it is an EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse) attack, it will render the surveillance grid inoperable for at least a time. Update: The just released FISA memo accuses senior officials at the DOJ of inappropriately using biased opposition research into then-candidate Trump to obtain surveillance warrants on transition team members as part of the federal investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia. According to the document, information from the the so-called Steele dossier was "essential" to the acquisition of surveillance warrants on Trump campaign aide Carter Page. It claims that then-deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe told the committee in December that without the information from the Steele dossier, no surveillance warrant for Page would have been sought. The memo alleges that the political origins of the dossier — paid for by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) — were not disclosed to the clandestine court that signed off on the warrant request. The document claims that although the FBI had "clear evidence" that the author of the dossier, former British spy Christopher Steele, was biased against Trump, it did not convey that to the surveillance court when making its warrant applications. Steele told then-associate deputy attorney general Bruce Ohr that he was "desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president," the memo says. House conservatives have touted the memo's revelations as “worse than Watergate” and hinted that it could prove the undoing of the federal investigation into Trump’s campaign. Meanwhile, Democrats on the panel say that it is a cherry-picked set of inaccurate accusations designed to kneecap special counsel Robert Mueller. They have drafted their own counter-memo to rebut the Republican-drafted document, but the majority voted against immediately making that document public earlier this week. The memo is based on a slate of highly-classified materials provided to the committee by the Justice Department itself, in a closed-door deal brokered by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). Naturally, the DOJ has claimed that the release of the memo is an abrogation of the terms of that deal, an assertion spokesmen for both Ryan and Nunes have rejected. Meanwhile, the underlying evidence remains classified, a state of affairs that Democrats and some national security analysts say makes it impossible to independently verify the memo’s conclusions. As The Hill reported earlier, ahead of the document's release, Paul Ryan privately urged House Republicans not to overplay the document — and not to tie it to the Mueller investigation. On October 21, 2016, DOJ and FBI sought and received a FISA probable cause order (not under Title VII) authorizing electronic surveillance on Carter Page from the FISC. Page is a U.S. citizen who served as a volunteer advisor to the Trump presidential campaign. Consistent with requirements under FISA, the application had to be first certified by the Director or Deputy Director of the FBI. It then required the approval of the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General (DAG), or the Senate-confirmed Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division. The FBI and DOJ obtained one initial FISA warrant targeting Carter Page and three FISA renewals from the FISC. As required by statute (50 U.S.C. §1805(d)(1)), a FISA order on an American citizen must be renewed by the FISC every 90 days and each renewal requires a separate finding of probable cause. Then-Director James Comey signed three FISA applications in question on behalf of the FBI, and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one. Then-DAG Sally Yates, then-Acting DAG Dana Boente, and DAG Rod Rosenstein each signed one or more FISA applications on behalf of DOJ. Our findings indicate that, as described below, material and relevant information was omitted. The "dossier" compiled by Christopher Steele (Steele dossier) on behalf of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign formed an essential part of the Carter Page FISA application. Steele was a longtime FBI source who was paid over $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign, via the law firm Perkins Coie and research firm Fusion GPS, to obtain derogatory information on Donald Trump's ties to Russia.
What follows is what some have dubbed the "damning section", as there was no reason not to disclosed the relationship between Clinton and Steele, unless the authors were worried about exposing a clear political link:

a) Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele's efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior DOJ and FBI officials. b) The initial FISA application notes Steele was working for a named U.S. person, but does not name Fusion GPS and principal Glenn Simpson, who was paid by a U.S. law firm (Perkins Coie) representing the DNC (even though it was known by DOJ at the time that political actors were involved with the Steele dossier). The application does not mention Steele was ultimately working on behalf of—and paid by—the DNC and Clinton campaign, or that the FBI had separately authorized payment to Steele for the same information.
The section above also makes a good case for releasing the underlying FISA application, as either the Clinton connection was disclosed or it wasn't - not a fact either party can distort. In a curious twist, in order to corroborate the dossier, the memo reveals that the FBI "extensively" cited a news article -- that was based entirely on the dossier. In effect, using the dossier to corroborate the dossier.

The Carter Page FISA application also cited extensively a September 23, 2016, Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff, which focuses on Page's July 2016 trip to Moscow. This article does not corroborate the Steele dossier because it is derived from information leaked by Steele himself to Yahoo News. The Page FISA application incorrectly assesses that Steele did not directly provide information to Yahoo News. Steele has admitted in British court filings that he met with Yahoo News—and several other outlets—in September 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS. Perkins Coie was aware of Steele's initial media contacts because they hosted at least one meeting in Washington D.C. in 2016 with Steele and Fusion GPS where this matter was discussed.

Steele was suspended and then terminated as an FBI source for what the FBI defines as the most serious of violations—an unauthorized disclosure to the media of his relationship with the FBI in an October 30, 2016, Mother Jones article by David Corn. Steele's numerous encounters with the media violated the cardinal rule of source handling—maintaining confidentiality—and demonstrated that Steele had become a less than reliable source for the FBI. 3) Before and after Steele was terminated as a source, he maintained contact with DOJ via then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, a senior DOJ official who worked closely with Deputy Attorneys General Yates and later Rosenstein. Shortly after the election, the FBI began interviewing Ohr, documenting his communications with Steele. For example, in September 2016, Steele admitted to Ohr his feelings against then-candidate Trump when Steele said he "was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president." This clear evidence of Steele's bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files—but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications. During this same time period, Ohr's wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump. Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife's opposition research, paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs' relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the FISC. * * * After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent unit within FBI assessed Steele's reporting as only minimally corroborated. Yet, in early January 2017, Director Comey briefed President-elect Trump on a summary of the Steele dossier, even though it was - according to his June 2017 testimony - "salacious and unverified." While the FISA application relied on Steele's past record of credible reporting on other unrelated matters, it ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations. Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information. The Page FISA application also mentions information regarding fellow Trump campaign advisor George Papadopoulos, but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Pete Strzok. Strzok was reassigned by the Special Counsel's Office to FBI Human Resources for improper text messages with his mistress, FBI Attorney Lisa Page (no known relation to Carter Page), where they both demonstrated a clear bias against Trump and in favor of Clinton, whom Strzok had also investigated. The Strzok/Lisa Page texts also reflect extensive discussions about the investigation, orchestrating leaks to the media, and include a meeting with Deputy Director McCabe to discuss an "insurance" policy against President Trump's election.
#14The bottom line: as noted earlier, if found that there was clear undisclosed bias in the launch of surveillance of Trump's team, then Mueller's probe - whose findings would be the result of a flawed FISA warrant - would be null and void, leave space for Trump to fire the special prosecutor or Rod Rosenstein. Incidentally, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump suggested the document shows political bias at the FBI that tainted the probe into whether his campaign cooperated with Russia’s election meddling. “I think it’s a disgrace,” Trump said of the alleged bias. "A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves." The decision cleared the way for the House Intelligence Committee to release the memo, which it did shortly after noon. “It was declassified and let’s see what happens,” Trump said. White House made no redactions to the document.

DOJ official Bruce Ohr met with Steele beginning in the summer of 2016 and relayed to DOJ information about Steele's bias. Steele told Ohr that he, Steele, was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected president and was passionate about him not becoming president.
As a reminder, the FBI and Justice Department mounted a months-long effort to keep the information outlined in the memo out of the House Intelligence Committee's hands. Only the threat of contempt charges and other forms of pressure forced the FBI and Justice to give up the material.

February 02, 2018 by Ted Butler, SilverSeek: The big news this week was the filing of charges and settlements for price manipulation and “spoofing” brought by the CFTC, in conjunction with the DOJ and FBI, against three banks and a half dozen individual traders; mostly involving illegal trading activities in COMEX gold and silver futures. The announcement set off a debate about whether the filing proved the allegations that gold and silver prices were manipulated as many, certainly including me, have maintained. http://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/pr7682-18 Put simply, the filings do not prove that silver and gold have been manipulated lower in price over the years. But then again, neither do the filings show that prices have not been manipulated in the manner I contend. What the charges do prove is that spoofing is a corrupt and illegal practice that should not exist in any form and on that basis. My immediate reaction is what the heck took the CFTC this long to act? Regular readers know I have railed against spoofing for many years as being completely devoid of any redeeming or legitimate features while the CFTC stood by. The practice of placing phony orders to influence price should have been outlawed from day one. That said, I suppose it is good that the agency finally took action, under the kindest interpretation of the cliché of it’s better late than never. Certainly, those banks and traders accused of the practice will likely not do so in the future. And seeing the CFTC actually use the word manipulation in connection with COMEX gold and silver can’t be considered bad. Beyond that, unfortunately, the charges and settlements are troubling in that they only scratch the surface of whether silver and gold prices are manipulated. Truth be told, if the regulators were out to clean up what ails silver and gold pricing, then they didn’t come close with these filings. If the CFTC was intending that this week’s announcements showed that it was truly cracking down on bad actors in silver and gold, then it failed. I would remind you that many of the violations announced took place while the CFTC was in the midst of its infamous five year silver “investigation”. Think I’m being too hard on the CFTC? Then try explaining how the agency has managed to ignore the activities of the most prominent gold and silver market crook of all – JPMorgan. It’s not as if the agency hasn’t been given ample evidence of JPMorgan’s dominant role in manipulating prices ever since the bank took over Bear Stearns in 2008. I know because I’ve done nothing but make the case against JPMorgan for nearly all that time. And I must say, I am disappointed in the actions, or lack thereof, of the Enforcement Director, James McDonald. Privately, I’m still assured that McDonald is a straight arrow, although lately the question has come up whether what JPMorgan is doing is really illegal if higher ups in the government pecking order have ordered McDonald to keep off JPM’s case. To that I say balderdash – in matters silver and gold, JPMorgan is a stone cold crook and no order from above supersedes McDonald’s oath to uphold the Constitution and the law of the land. It’s disturbing that the agency seems to be going after the little fish, while the biggest market crook of them all, JPMorgan, gets a pass. It’s not as if I haven’t gone out of my way to present the case against JPMorgan to McDonald, starting on his first day on the job last April 10. I spelled out in great detail how JPMorgan had never taken a loss on any short position it ever added in COMEX silver in nearly 10 years; a trading record that would be impossible if JPMorgan wasn’t rigging prices. And get this – since I wrote to McDonald last year, JPMorgan has added and bought back silver shorts on four separate occasions for more than 10,000 net contracts on each occasions, making close to $500 million in total trading profits. In the last 10 months, in addition to racking up massive profits in paper COMEX trading, JPMorgan has added another 100 million oz of silver to a hoard now measuring nearly 700 million oz. And as I have written recently, JPMorgan has been doing the exact same thing in gold, namely, making enormous paper profits by being the largest short in COMEX gold, while picking up boatloads of physical gold on the cheap – at least 20 million oz over the past 5 years.

BY SRSROCCO The U.S. Government is in serious trouble when interest rates rise. As interest rates rise, so will the amount of money the U.S. Government will have to pay out to service its rapidly rising debt. Unfortunately, interest rates don’t have to increase all that much for the government’s interest expense to double. According to the TreasuryDirect.gov website, which came back online after being down for nearly a month, reported that the average interest rate paid on U.S. Treasury Securities increased from 2.2% in November 2016 to 2.3% in December 2017. While this does not seem like a significant change, every increase of 0.1% in the average interest rate, the U.S. Government has to pay an additional $20.5 billion in interest expense (based on the $20.5 trillion in total U.S. debt). Already, the U.S. Government is off to a BANG as it’s interest expense paid for the first three months of the year increased to $147 billion compared to $139 billion in the same period last year:
This chart was taken directly from the TreasuryDirect.gov site, with my added annotations. As we can see, the U.S. Government paid $126.5 billion to service their debt Oct-Dec 2015. We must remember, the U.S. Government Fiscal period starts in October. So, in just two years, the interest expense the U.S. Government paid for Oct-Dec increased more than $20 billion. Now, what is interesting is that the average interest rate in Dec 2015 was 2.33%, but in Dec 2017 it was only 2.31%. Thus, it was actually lower, even though the interest expense increased by $20 billion. The reason for the $20 billion increase in the interest expense during Oct-Dec 2017 versus Oct-Dec 2015 was due to a more than $2 trillion increase in U.S. debt over that two-year period. So, the U.S. Government will have a serious problem as interest rates really start to rise… and that doesn’t even include the continued increase in total U.S. debt. This next chart shows the increase in U.S. debt, while the average interest rate fell from an average 6.6% in 2000 to a low of 2.2% in 2016: The falling average interest rates occurred due to the Federal Reserve policy to stimulate the economy as well as to keep the U.S. Government interest expense from skyrocketing.
Now, there is a difference between the U.S. Federal Government net interest expense of $266 billion on the $14.7 billion in public debt in 2017 versus the total $458 billion interest expense on total debt of $20.3 trillion, which includes “intragovernmental holdings.” The Federal Government is only stating the interest it’s paying on the public debt in its budget. However, Intragovernmental debt is debt that one part of the government owes to another part. In almost all cases, it is debt held in government trust funds, such as the Social Security trust funds. So, if we want to know the total interest expense paid via total U.S. Treasury Securities, we have to also include the intragovernmental holdings, or that amount that the U.S. Government has borrowed from other governmental agencies.
For example, before the government raised the debt ceiling on Sept 7th, the public debt was $14,410 billion, and the intragovernmental holdings were $5,434 billion for a total of $19.844 billion: However, the intragovernmental holdings increased the most in percentage terms by rising 4.7% ($256 billion) to $5,690 billion while total public debt only increased 3.2% ($649 billion) to $14,802 billion… for a grand total of $20,493 billion. The U.S. government still has to pay interest on their intragovernmental holdings… and a lot of that interest is going to pay for Social Security. According to Social Security Report July 2017, of the $836 billion in benefits paid in 2017, an additional $88 billion came from earned interest. Thus, 10% of Social Security payouts last year came from a large percentage of interest earned on the Social Security portion of the intragovernmental holdings. If we consider total U.S. Government interest expense, including intragovernmental holdings, it hit a record high of $458 billion in 2017: Unfortunately, when interest rates move back toward a more normal rate of 5%, the U.S. Government will have to fork out $1 trillion-plus a year, just to service its total debt. Even though the Federal Reserve might try to lower interest rates during the next market crash, the market will likely react in the opposite direction as real rates start to rise. The Central Banks have purchased $15 trillion in assets since the 2008 market meltdown. Furthermore, their zero-interest rate policy has driven speculative growth with the addition of $70 trillion in debt in the same time period. While the Central Bank insane easy monetary policy may continue for a few more years, the tremendous amount of LEVERAGE in the system is getting out out hand.
