Listen, while you all are out be careful scanning your phone over fake QR Codes. Scammers physically place stickers or signs with fake QR codes over legitimate QR codes found on parking meters, signs, or machines.
And it will bring you to a fake website where you input your info to a fake service only for it to harvest that info and starts charging you regularly. They can install malware on your device and
The scam doesn't directly send info to the scammers' phones in real-time. But, if the QR code leads to a malicious site, this site could contain scripts to track user interactions or attempt to install malware through 'drive-by downloads'.
This malware might then try to send sensitive data back to the scammers, potentially including location data or even banking info if the malware is sophisticated enough. So you all need to be careful how you go about casually using those QR Codes out in public. Because people are losing a lot of money through this.
