You have noticed we go back around old info more than once.  
It's encouraging really, because it's mostly for newbies coming on board the
various boards.
But it's also a good reminder for us so we can speak to these subjects well if
we have the opportunity.

This could be important, as there is a flaw in the process and doesn't yield the
expected results.
Regarding canning/food storage.

Seems there are vids teaching 'dry canning' for 'dry goods', such as rice, beans,
grains, etc.
This consists of putting the item in a lidded canning jar and heating in the oven.
AND it doesn't work.  
Even 'dry goods' contain some moisture and the oven heat pulls the moisture to the
outside of the food, but isn't hot enough to expel it as steam, as what happens in a 'bath'.

At best it might be safe for a year, but how would you even know, unless it had visible mold.
Old fashioned water bath expels the moisture and oxygen, and is good for up to 20 years
for some foodstuffs.   The only sure, safe method of canning.

Also, doing a 'search' for a subject can pull up a good number of posts thru the years,
with really interesting topics and discussions.

There's no denying 'somebody' has let go of the slingshot.

I listened to Putin talking with some wounded Russian troops at a hospital on RT today. The English translation was of him saying to them that Russia doesn't want to attack innocent civilians, but will try to focus their responses on military installations being built up to attack them.
