 Some people who don't agree with the government blame the United States for making Germany depend too much on them.  They say this has caused the current problems and made it harder for German businesses to compete.


 One lawmaker from a political party called Alternative for Germany, named Eugen Schmidt, said, "Businesses in Germany are struggling, and some are closing down and moving away. We're spending a lot of money on American natural gas, but at the same  time, we're putting sanctions on gas from Russia."
